Susan is an excellent extremely patient teacher. She understands the barriers or difficulties you might have in your life that make it difficult for you to lose weight and she works with you to get past them. She has endless suggestions and ideas for improvements for your diet but is also very realistic about making changes slowly for better overall outcome. I think she is excellent and would highly recommend her if you are trying to lose weight.

Susan gave me the MRT food intolerance test and figured out some supplements for me. This a year and half later and I can say my cholesterol dropped a lot, I stopped having twitchy legs at night, my ears stopped burning, my stomach was less bloated, and I got less IBS attacks, less migranes, and I started sleeping better. I dont even have to be very rigid about avoiding the food intolerances at this point. She was able to figure out a weird symptom was my allergies (which nobody I knew would have guessed was seasonal allergies) and now I know over the counter allergy medicine stops it. She explained the gut-sleep relation and when one supplement was off limits due to my medical condition she found another one. She was really a god-send. I highly recommend her and she takes some insurance; I would have paid the six visits out of pocket, in retrospect, even if she had not taken insurance. I am going to leave this review everywhere.

In the past 4 years, I had gained 40+ lbs due to some special medicine I was taking (and probably some overeating of hamburgers too haha). I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it. Juice cleanses, special diets, pills, multiple private trainers, you name it and I had done it. Unfortunately, nothing stuck. Knowing my wedding was just around the corner, I had to do something to get the weight off for good. I wanted to feel confident on my wedding day! I found Lindsay through a quick yelp search and was intrigued. Let's get this straight. This is not a special fad diet or some strict eating plan, its a way of life! Lindsay gives you the tools, skills, and mindset to make a long lasting change in your lifestyle. During the course of the 6 weeks, I lost 8+ lbs and now (more than 3 months later) I'm still continuing to lose weight by following what she taught me. I plan to be at my goal weight in the next 3 months (in time for my wedding!) And most importantly, I feel fantastic!!!!! I feel like a whole new person. Yes, it's a monetary investment but it was worth every penny :) do it!!!

What I appreciated the most was her accessibility. She would review menus of restaurants I was eating at or provide me with customized recommendations. When I was frustrated with results or what the scale said, she was non-judgmental and offered helpful advice for how to overcome cravings or emotional reactions. In fact, I was surprised (in a good way) by how much of the program was centered around mindfulness and balance. Even though the program only includes 4 sessions, I felt like I was in constant communication with Lindsay and she genuinely cared about my progress. She frequently sent email updates and checked in, and when I had questions, she was never more than a text away. I am excited to see continued progress. I would recommend Lindsay to anyone!

She/he is also a partner to the individual attempting the diet & is important to staying in a positive mindset. Dr. Dadkhah has proven to be such a partner for me in my efforts to lose weight. I am making progress and I am losing weight when I have never been able to do so alone in the past. My clothes are getting bigger & I have had to change to smaller sizes in some things. I have more energy & I feel like I am making progress. I very much look forward to meeting with Dr. Dadkhah. Without our time I don't have anyone to really discuss my diet. My efforts to lose weight are my main focus of life & I think about it all the time. None of my family & friends are overweight so for me this would be a solo journey if not for Dr. Dadkhah. The information she shares with me is always valuable but what's most most helpful for me is to have someone who is willing to talk about nutrition and food. She is enthusiastic in helping me to understand nutrition, physical exercise & what foods work best for my diet. And she patiently answers all my questions. She has even encouraged me to send emails between our meetings to share my questions or concerns so that we can discuss at the next meeting which has been very helpful technique for me. She also shares engaging videos to help me understand why she is encouraging certain things in my diet & why it's important. Meeting with Dr. Dadkhah energizes me and gets me jazzed up to continue to go forward. Whereas when I don't have that time with her then it's harder to stay as excited about dieting plus without our meeting then my weight loss seems more like hard work & as if a chore. I stay on the diet when we don't meet but I don't feel as enthused when doing this alone. I now understand that it helps to have a dietitian who understands where you are & what you are feeling & someone who can offer suggestions. I'm realizing that dieting is an individual journey but one still needs someone to go along the journey with you. Someone who cares about what you are experiencing & wants you to be successful. Someone who tries to help figure out where things got off track if weight loss slows down, & figure out a new plan. For me, Dr. Dadkhah is that person who does all those things for me. I am an introvert but it's nice to have a dietitian where I can go talk about my thoughts, experiences, worries, challenges, setbacks, etc. Without my time with Dr. Dadkhah in this process then the whole diet thing would be so much harder to do. She is able to teach me & advise me but she also listens to me and helps me keep my thoughts on track so I don't follow a negative or wrong way of thinking. She celebrates my good weeks & she keeps me from feeling bad on weeks that are less successful. What I've learned is that dieting is not a cookie cutter deal. No one diet works for everyone. So what you may read on the Internet may not be what works best for you. I have learned to trust that Dr. Dadkhah is helping me to identify what is best for ME, & I have to trust what she suggests rather than go by something I may read on the Internet. She has created a weight loss program that is individualized to me, what works best for me, a program I can stick with. And I am grateful that I found her to help me through this journey of losing weight.

I was a little nervous because I didn't think I would see much progress but much to my surprise I had dropped fat and gained muscle. Once again, Rafi was encouraging and told me to keep up the good work. In another four months I went back in for a follow-up scan and was happy and encouraged to find that I've lost a total of almost 13 pounds of fat and have gained 4.5 pounds of muscle. Rafi provided me with the knowledge I needed to work towards the results I wanted and seeing those results on paper is a huge motivator for me. I'm feeling healthier, happier, more fit, and I am looking forward to seeing the results of my next scan. Thanks Rafi!

Since my wife and I had children, I have found I have problems eating well and exercising as much as I used to. My energy levels are lower than ever, and I have almost no time to spend carefully planning for, preparing, or eating meals. I travel and entertain socially for work, and co-own a consulting firm, and find that restaurants, bars, airplanes, and hotels are not conducive to my own personal wellness and well-being. Natch. Enter Nutrition Unlocked and Lauren, whom I located through Yelp (and which led me to her website). I liked what I read online, so I booked a two-session assessment / planning appointment for April 2014. Lauren is conveniently located in Arlington near the Orange Line. She's also available for home visits, although I chose to meet at her home-based office during the weekday. There's ample street parking (and she can give you a guest pass so you don't have to worry about the County towing you!). Lauren is a very good listener, and talking about my eating / nutrition habits felt a little like the first meeting with a new therapist ;-) She's patient -- if you go on a tangent, she's there to listen, respond thoughtfully, and redirect you both conversation-wise and nutrition-wise. She provided me with a basic but thorough education about nutrition, metabolism, what my body needs on a daily basis in the way of total calories, protein, carbs, fats, fluids, etc. -- which I realized I had never been taught, or learned on my own. As it turns out, breakfast is an important meal (yeah... I didn't get the memo) and I wasn't getting enough nourishment, or enough protein when I was eating in the morning. She also educated me about making better, informed choices at the supermarket, and especially when out to dinner, or entertaining socially. Portion control and moderation is and will be, in large part, the key to success for me. As is being active and finding what works within the parameters of my home life and work life. I intend to keep up semi-regular visits, because it's one of the best investments I can imagine making for myself. Here's to eating better and feeling better!
