The only drawback was that we had to carry our merchandise out ourselves without a store bag, unless we opted to pay an extra $10 for a plastic bag! Very disappointing because we had to carry the dolls and two bulky hoodies. We had no choice but to lug everything back to the trunk of our car. It would be good of them to notify customers upon entering, but, of course, that would be a major setback for them.

I have been craving chocolate since I signed up for this event...they are in Illinois and I am in El Paso Texas so I needed some good chocolate for tonight to enjoy while I watch the presentation. The operative word here is good chocolate- not left over Halloween candy, but the kind of thing you would eat if you were royalty. And so, being a Princess in my mind I opted for some truffles from this Hallmark store that is the closest one to me. I called them to see if the were open with current new restrictions. The lady who answered the phone (Pat) said they were not allowing customers into the store but you could place a phone order and they will bring what you want to your car when you arrive!!! No activities for the kids and the guy with the cowboy hat won't even help. I understand this is a fundraiser, but you can do better. Not the best selection (bruised pumpkins) and much more expensive than Walmart even with their "fancy" pumpkins. I haven't tried La Union since COVID, so I'm gonna try it out again.

During the time we went, COVID was still in full force, so they had restrictions and they were greatly appreciated as I have a low immune system. When we first arrived, we had to wait in line outside for about 10 minutes as they were only allowing a few people in at a time. When it was our turn, we picked our bears and proceeded to stuff then! The person who stuffed our bears was very sweet and made the experience great! After stuffing our bears, we went around and shopped for their outfits! My girlfriend picked one of the Girl Scout bears and dressed her in a glittery dress. I picked a little white bear and chose the Pokémon hoodie and blue jeans! Then we proceeded to name our bears. I named mine Ash (after Ash from Pokémon) and my gf named hers Glitter (obviously due to her glittery outfit). It was a great way to spend our Valentines and can't wait till we return!
