What a lovely location. The staff all went above and beyond. Treated us well as globalist. Little hike to the wine and cherry valley from Vancouver but so worth it. Was given a villa w/view of vineyards. So clean so comfortable. But let's talk about the breakfast. Omg the potatoes to die for. Not sure how they were cooked but they made our breakfast taste so fresh and tender vs my last Hyatt visit. I just can't believe people are giving this place low ratings. This was my first time to be in Osoyoos. We came here for my son's hockey tournament. This hotel was a host hotel for the ice rink, so we were required to stay here. The hotel itself is good. Like its name Resort & Spa, it's a good place to stay to enjoy the hotel facilities like those resort hotels. We got a one-bed room suite with a full kitchen. The highlight of this suite is the laundry set, a small washer and a small dryer. Since my son plays hockey and becomes stinky with his jerseys, it's a lifesaver to have this set in the suite. I actually did my laundry twice a day to make sure that my son got freshly washed jerseys for his next games. The next amazing thing is the fully equipped kitchen. They prepared everything you need in the kitchen, such as pots, pans, baking pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses etc. We did purchase some groceries and cooked in our unit since there were not many restaurants in the area. We were also able to reheat the leftover food from the restaurant properly to enjoy. The bathroom is huge and has both shower and bathtub. While it's nice, it's a pain when we have 3 people in this unit. When one person is using the bathroom, other people will have wait. It would be nicer if they could arrange vanity and toilet separately. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I don't have any complaint. Although everything seemed nearly perfect here, I noticed that one of the dining chair was ripped seriously. Ugh! This made me remove one star. Otherwise, I do like this place and would like to come again! read more

Decided to stay a night here while driving from Calgary to Vancouver to break up the drive and when driving up to the hotel you wouldn't think a hotel is up this road but once arrived it's up on a hill overlooking the city and lake , Checkin was fast and had A very nice lobby . When we got to our room it was a really nice room it was a 2br suite with full kitchen and washer and dryer it was a larger room overlooking the golf course and mountains on the backside of the resort . Everything in the room was very clean and stocked with everything you need it seems like there are some type of views from all rooms especially if your in the higher floors which I believe were only 4 floors. The room also had a huge soaker tub in one bathroom and in the other a larger walk in shower with TVs in both bedrooms and living room area so definitely space to sit back and relax . If I'm ever in this area again I would definitely stay here again . read more

We had attended a destination wedding at Spirit Ridge at the NK'MIP Resort over the weekend The venue is situated in Osoyoos on top of a hill that overlooks the town and valley The view from the terrace where the wedding took place was breathtaking A real treat Lots of photo ops They have beautiful displays of the spirit animal I.E the horse Even when you enter the resort they have a little pen where several horses graze and feed However, sadly the food at the event was a bit less to be desired The event's menu had penne a la vodka to start Not sure if it was a last minute add because it served at our table in a huge pan to which we had to serve ourselves The penne a la vodka was good For me I liked it as it was bit more on the spicier side with the red pepper flakes but for some it wasn't as good due to the spice level Would have suggested to have not had the pepper flakes and served that on the side The mains were either a beef tenderloin or a halibut I chose the beef tenderloin The presentation was lovely Tenderloin cooked to medium rare I liked the gravy sauce and the mushrooms that accompanied it Sadly though and from many guests that chose the dish it was unfortunately cold For those that chose the halibut, the fish was over-cooked and not tasty The salad that followed was the highlight A greens salad that had pear done three ways The pear purée which was the dressing was super tasty Unfortunately dessert was too frozen as it was supposed to be a mousse and it was more like a frozen ice cream and very hard to eat and break into It should have been taken out earlier to at least have the inside be a bit more softer Late night station was a treat in either poutine or pizza I actually made myself a taters n' cream from a past restaurant using the ingredients at hand Overall the resort is super nice The view is spectacular However, the food was unfortunately underwhelming for the event we attended read more

There is a few things to do at the resort which include a great restaurant, a winery, a desert cultural centre and a golf course. It is a short drive to town. Wow! What a way to celebrate. My husband and I had planned a little getaway to celebrate an important event in our life. We booked a 1 bedroom suite at Spirit Ridge and it was as good as it gets. Our 1 bedroom unit was spacious and spotlessly clean. It had a full kitchen that was well equipped. There were TV's in both the living room and bedroom. There was also a fireplace in both rooms. We had a huge patio and there was patio furniture that could seat 4 and a barbecue so if you felt like having a barbecue you did not have to make a trek to a communal cooking area. Our unit also had a soaker tub in the corner of the patio. My husband thoroughly enjoyed having a glass of wine and relaxing in our private soaker tub after a day's driving. I would highly recommend Spirit Ridge and would like to return some day. It was a truly luxurious get away and I loved every minute of my time there. I am very surprised by all the negative reviews for Spirit Ridge. Our experience was phenomenal. They are part of Hyatt - Boutique collection now. I don't know if it was part of the Hyatt group when the previous reviews were written. The beds were very comfortable. read more

We had heard so much about Talon at Spirit Ridge we decided to try it for a drink and maybe a light snack. On arrival we were seated outside on a gorgeous patio overlooking the valley and the evening was stunning. The potential for the night was there. After being seated we asked to see the menu. Our server told us "we couldn't order food in this section". After a light dialogue based on curiosity our waitress told us they were understaffed and had "too many tables for the staff". 5 tables and 3 staff. Here is the deal. I just wanted to see the menu. I would have moved if I was going to eat. Although the thought of that is truly ridiculous, those dining were only 20 feet away. read more

A friend and I just enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing girls-weekend at this gorgeous resort. We were blown away by how warm and modern the rooms were; the attention to detail was impeccable. We stayed in a One Bedroom Corner King Suite and had the pleasure of an outdoor private soaker tub on the balcony with a beautiful view. Spa robes were a nice surprise and provided at no additional cost. Electric fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom created a fun, cozy atmosphere. Having a full, beautiful kitchen was a nice treat and would be great for longer term stays (suggestion: grab some snacks or a meal to prepare as the market closes early in the afternoon and the restaurant has a very small scale lunch and dinner menu). The only negative aspect of our stay was the dismal wifi signal. The signal was very weak and we could barely connect from anywhere in our suite. We ended up having to use our personal phones as hot spots to get a good connection. Overall we were VERY happy and look forward to visiting again soon! read more

This resort, while nice, is still working out a few kinks. If it wasn't for the poor service, they would have earned 5 stars. Nice, well-appointed rooms. Two full bathrooms in our suite and a fully outfitted kitchen and BBQ (not that we used any of it). Two large pools - one for adults only. Two fitness rooms (only one was fully outfitted, the other was severely lacking). A little cafe style restaurant with some essentials (like ice cream, lattes and shampoo). One full service restaurant that was expensive with delicious food but HORRIBLE service. The golf course is also very nice for the price tag ($33 for 9 holes) and is comparable to courses that charge twice as much. Now the bad: - Upon checkin, they tried to give us a room with two kings and a pull out couch. Our reservation had a king and two queens in the second bedroom. At first, they refused to fix it (or even look at our reservation confirmation that we printed out). The woman at the front desk was downright snotty and rude. The manager who came to the desk barely spoke to us and spoke to the rude woman who repeated most of what the manager had just said within ear shot. - On our first day, we were out on our balcony, with the privacy sign on the front door. A maintenance man suddenly appeared at the door from our suite to the balcony with a filter for the AC. First, the filter he removed looked clean. Second, he didn't apologize. Third, I don't really care. In another circumstance that could have been horribly intrusive (like if I, a woman, had been there alone and a strange man stepped on to my balcony or I had been coming out of the shower). The only note of caution I'll give overall, the prices for food and coffee and all that is a little steep and not quite justifiably so. But overall, very pleasant stay. read more

Where 2 begin?! Restaurant is very expensive, breakfast has weird selections, (eggo waffles for $12?!) tea came in a press with enough tea leaves for 8 pots - yuck. We had a room which only had a view directly onto the full new & entire phase 2 full of constant construction. The crews begin at sunrise, and so does the noise! Then at sunset they TEAR out in their 4x4's like a drag race circuit. Checking out was a NIGHTMARE. The "duty manager" Tina was completely rude, utterly snotty, totally discourteous, ill-mannered, disrespectful & impolite. We were quoted $215 for the room WITH $100 food/spa voucher. We were charged $345 for the room AND all our food charges PLUS a further $100!! Over $1K for what was suppose to be $430. Be very careful with your bill - they refuse to break it down with all the charges, taxes & hidden amounts. Every question we had was dealt with a disgusting & rude remark, no eye contact (like we were undesirables) and she walked away from us in mid-sentence 3 times AND would help anyone else that appeared, even when we were in mid-sentence. The rooms are nice but totally not worth the prices considering no views, the construction, & noise. Even 'if' we had a lake view, I would never stayed for $345/night. (BTW- when we arrived, hotel DID NOT EVEN HAVE OUR RESERVATION! should have been our 1st clue to leave immediately~!) read more

Just had an amazing two days in this resort, winery, native cultural centre. Oosoyoos is a small town and there aren't alot of pretty looking places to stay, Spirit Ridge provided a wonderful little getaway for the my weekend. It's a large resort with time share options situated in the desert. The resort included two pools and hot tubs, waterslide, NKmip winery (the only native owned winery in N. America), it's own beachfront, a golf course, a RV camp and a few restaurants ranging from fine dining to beach shack. We got the one bedroom suite which when we booked was only $10 more than the regular one bedroom. All the rooms included a full kitchen and a bbq, very handy considering most of the food in Oosoyoos was horrible, aside from fancy winery dining. The first night we just bbqed and ate on the vineyard facing deck and hung out in the pool with just breathtaking views of the lake and the vineyard. The next day we wandered down to the beach and rented a kayak for $30 for a half day. Hung out in the beautiful sunshine, paddled back to the beach shack from a quick beer and back out again to the lake. This morning we visited the desert cultural centre. The admission was $12 and for Spirit Ridge stayers, an extra 15% off. Included with the admission was a beautiful desert trails. I thought it was well worth the money, the staff was wonderful and helpful, this lady even brought out a snake for the ppl to hold. The only iffy part of the stay was our $2 DVD rental. We were told upon check in that there were DVDs available to borrow and was charged $2 for it at checkout. Not a huge amount but it was the principle of it. Another sad thing was a frog came in the hot tub this morning and died on us. Very disturbing image of Kermit being swirled around by 40C chlorinated water. RIP =( All in all, I had a wonderful experience at the Spirit Ridge and would go back in a heartbeat. read more

Great spot! Although it's a little ways from the water, there is a shuttle that runs down to the beach everyday. We had a little one staying with us, and the "kids" pool is a lot of fun for them. There is also a separate pool for quiet relaxation or swimming. Golf course is nicely maintained (although don't go looking for balls as you may run into a rattler!). Nature discovery centre was another awesome adventure for the kids. Suites are very nice, spacious and great for two couple, or a couple with kids. Kitchen was missing some basic utensils, but that is a minor issue. We would stay here again! read more

This resort is absolutely GORGEOUS.. It overlooks beautiful Osoyoos lake, vineyards and mountains. As we drove up to Spirit Ridge I literally couldn't believe my eyes, the resort is in such a picturesque setting. Check-in was painless and the 1 bedroom suite was very impressive and well appointed. I enjoyed one of the best night's sleep I have had in a very long time on the extra comfy king-sized bed. The grounds of this resort are truly exceptional. I walked all over the larger Nk'Mip resort from Sonora Dunes, through the pathways in the desert and vineyards, down to the private beach area on the lake (and then out to the Fernandes fruit market). There is so much to see and do right on the resort itself, I can definitely see why this place is so popular amongst families. Swimming?? There are two pool options available; one for children/families located in the courtyard and one for adults beneath the Mica balcony. I swam in the salt pool and enjoyed the hot tub. Nice facilities throughout the pool area. Once again the view from the pool over the vineyards is amazing. Although I did not use them myself, this resort has free bicycle rental for guests. My only issue was with the brown tap water. I went to take a bath and noticed the bath water was a murky brown. Although management had indicated that the problem had been resolved, as of my stay in early August, it had not been. I did enjoy Spirit Ridge and I wished I could have stayed a few extra nights but the entire place was completely sold out! I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Osoyoos. Booking at Spirit Ridge made my vacation a little more special and I am looking forward to visiting the region again. read more

My first time in Osoyoos, and what a great time it was! We really wanted a getaway where the family (and dog!) could spend some time together, and kick back. Spirit Ridge was the perfect getaway for such occasion - we had a 2 bed 2 bath with a fully stocked kitchen & (electric) bbq on deck which made for great nights full of cooking & laughter. Our place over-looked the golf course where we could comment & watch the players (mostly) struggle, and sometimes succeed! We did not try any of the restaurants or spa facilities - most of the time was spent at the pool (yay there is a nice quiet pool alternative away from the kiddy's!) and playing ping pong. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. We had an issue with our air conditioning and they continually apologized & were quick to respond and repair. The cultural center was really great & well designed. We also enjoyed the horse back riding found just down the pathway - into the rattle snake sanctuary! Views were amazing on this ride. I definitely recommend this for a family getaway or some R&R. We also got the mid-week rate which made it really affordable for 5 people (+a dog!). There were some great wineries not too far away as well which just added to the activity list. I would definitely return! read more

Talon's restaurant review: This place was pathetic. I asked the waitress if they had vegan options. She said "I think so". Then, everything went downhill from there. I ordered the chef's salad. The greens were brownish and looks like some kids just throw it altogether. Menu said it has sauteed mushrooms but that was nowhere to be found. We also had chicken caesar salad. Again, brownish lettuce and drenched with dressing. The pappardelle pasta was worse. It was overcooked to the point where it was soggy. We asked for extra plates when they brought us the food because we went to share. The waitress brought us our plates when we are already done with our food. We asked for our check. They took 20 minutes. They had maybe another 2 tables in the entire restaurant. Worst place ever. read more

Spirit Ridge was not what I was expecting and so perhaps it was like waiting too long to watch a Hollywood blockbuster movie, your expectations are far too high. The resort reminds me of a dessert fort tucked into the dessert, very brown and non descriptive from afar but as you draw closer you realize it's a large city rather than a fort. Comprised of several buildings housing varying 1-3 bedroom set-ups, all with balconies, the rooms w/ kitchenettes are nice and spacious and equipped with what you would need for a mini break alone or with a family. The decor is south western and pleasant. The room was the best part of the resort for me. Pleasant to sit on the deck and watch the sunset with a glass of wine in hand. If you are a family with loud young kids, this is the place for you. If you do not like noise avoid at all costs a room around the main swimming pool. Of course, 3 buildings surround the pool so be very specific. The screams start at 9am and continue till 8pm, a comfortable dinner or drinks on your deck will not be had. There is an adult pool, and any resort that knows that not everyone has kids or wants kids on holiday will have one. BUT, it's located right in front of the restaurant deck, so your tummy flab, saggy ass, bust/boobs, poor swimming, and in general your self is on display for all the diners at the restaurant. Why?? Why put a pool right there? Check in area is a bit odd, felt a bit like walking into a time share office without the time share. Awkward low check in area, where you sit, almost interview-like. Not a fan, call me old fashioned, I'd rather stand unless you're the Four Seasons and choose to check me in at a private exclusive desk. Sitting elbow to elbow with a bunch of people checking in, just odd. I recommend SRV for families and groups. There is also an RV area on property by the lake which was just plain weird and for another review. I forget, the restaurant is terrible. They used to be quite good but this year it was changed and not worth the $$. The Mexican place down by the water is same, cute concept, love the idea, but the food and drinks are meh. read more

A group of 15 of us stayed here over the Oliver Half Iron weekend. The pool/s are both spectacular, heated with hot tubs. Fitness centre, well stocked kitchenettes in the suites. We had the most excellent time. Comfy beds. There was a race car rally going on this weekend so lots of eye candy. Town is about a 10 min drive but not too bad. read more

The suite is big, and the tub on the deck was great to have, especially with fall weather. No complaints about the state of the room, other than a burned out lightbulb on the deck. I especially like the kitchen here, which I didn't have time to use unfortunately. The area is packed with interesting things, from golf to the cultural centre, and of course you have a bunch of awesome wineries to visit. SR offers good value for a weekend getaway. Of these types of resorts in the south okanagan, this one is slightly better appointed and shows better attention to detail in the cleaning department. I feel like similar resorts become slack in the fall. This may be a different place in the summer, but at this time of year it was a perfect quiet place to stay after a day of wineries. read more

We stayed at Spirit Ridge Mar 31 - Apr 3 when ownership had just changed. At that time the restaurant, bistro and adult pool were closed but we had a one bedroom suite in the Desert Suites bldg with a gorgeous view of the lake, vineyards and Osoyoos. We returned in July for an eight night stay. This time Mica restaurant, the poolside bistro and the adult pool were open. We stayed in a bigger one bedroom suite in Sagebrush overlooking the mountain and desert landscape. Our experience was great. The resort is awesome for families. The resort has a family pool with water slide and ping pong table, a bistro with a seating area just outside the pool, trails, a shuttle to the beach (or you can walk through the vineyards to get there - on route you pass by a horse riding stable), an Aboriginal cultural centre, a work out room and Nk'mip winery (I believe the only Aboriginal winery in North America). There is a restaurant associated with the winery open for lunch and early evening drinks. The view is spectacular (as it is in Mica restaurant - open for all meals). We lived our dinner at Mica. We have been to the Watermark (new and great location for those who want to be close to everything), Walnut Grove resort (a bit older but renovated) -- both have their pros and cons. We've also stayed at the Best Western next to Rattlesnake Canyon (breakfast included but didn't hang out there - went out as much as possible. Also has no outdoor pool). However, our clear choice is Spirit Ridge because it is part of a vineyard (relaxed atmosphere), up on a hill overlooking Osoyoos, spread out on a lot of property and a genuine escape from the city. My husband and I along with our 8 and 11 year olds wouldn't change a thing about Spirit Ridge - thus the 5 star rating! read more

This was a great family vacation spot. I would definitely go back. The resort was we kept and the people fantastic. Couple of things to look out for: 1. Found the room dark and dated- in general, building feeing a bit tired. 2. The beach is far away and within a motor home park. This was not a great beach at all. 3. Onsite food was not good and was $$ for what you got. On the upside: 1. Good value. 2. Suite was well equipped 3. Kids pool is great for kids and there is a way nicer adult only pool. There's also a ping pong table. 4. Grounds are very pretty 5. 2 gyms adequately equipped 6. Staff super nice 7. Cultural centre very interesting 8. Well run by and for the Indian band who own it. We may try something with a better beach next year. read more

Utter disaster of a honeymoon. All pools had families running around, dont be fooled by the "adult" pool. Booked a very nice room only to have clogged drains. Plumber shows up and spends the afternoon in the room, gives up leaving his tools and a mess, front desk had no clue this was happening. Eventually send up a guy and move us to a crap dorm room with a sorry. A very busy front desk clerk was my only contact and seemed to think that because i was no longer paying for the room i should be happy. This place needs to clue into the fact that it is an experience not a truck stop. A Manager and a nice meal or bottle of wine would have gone a long way, but no. 100% believe the hype and avoid this place. One star for the view and the very kind bellboy who seemed to recognize what a mess we ended up in. read more

Had a great experience visiting this resort and staying at one of their two bedroom suites. Everything was almost perfect. The suite layout was spacious. Their design was quite nice. And their service was friendly and attentive. If they could've just kept the BBQ in the balcony much cleaner I'd had given them a 5-star review. Definitely recommend this place. I took my girlfriend to Spirit Ridge for a much needed relax weekend. The room was really nice and the view was beautiful. What blew me away was the food. Absolutely outstanding. Local and I think mostly organic. The tastes were delicious. We also ate twice at the winery (right beside the restaurant and on the edge of the vineyard). The food was so great and the table was right on the grass overlooking the vineyard. At that point we had already had an amazing weekend and the chef came out to introduce himself and say hi. He asked how long we were staying and we mentioned we had to leave that morning. He then returned right before we left with a picnic lunch packed for us (with ham, salami, fresh fruits, cheeses, and freshly baked crackers). That was over the top service. Far beyond our high expectations. Thanks guys for making our time away so memorable!! read more

We want to love this property being there is so much to love, but there is no love from the customer service team at all. Upon verifying that the hotel is pet friendly, we excitedly booked the hotel online while including a note that there would be three adults and one dog staying in one room. We arrived around noon which was a bit early and were asked to come back later after they called us. No problem! We explored some local wineries until we got a call and headed back. Right away we were told that they had assigned a room that does not allow pets. So they will need manager's approval to switch room for us. Mind you this is the same person who already told us that the room wasn't ready - who could have addressed the issue earlier upon pulling up our reservation. Manager made a point to tell us how we were lucky he could accommodate us as if he was doing us a favour. It was at this point I reminded him that when we booked the room, we specifically mentioned that there would be a dog. He asked me if I had any idea how busy they were and how many requests they get on room orders online. He said there was no way for him to read people's notes on reservation requests. No, I am not kidding - how dare we expect the management to be gracious and welcoming! We got into our room, and it was nice - thank goodness for that. So we settled in and tried to hop onto the free wifi. Nothing in the room with a code or instructions on how to connect, so we called the front desk, No one answered so I left a message. An hour later without any call back, I walked to guest services and the girl just rolled her eyes when I asked for the wifi code.. She pulls out sheets of paper with groupings of numbers and then proceeds to find mine. A 10 digit code to log onto free wifi, well it is secure. She didn't write it down. Instead, she read it to me to copy down. Friendliness - zero. Graciousness - zero. After hunting down some food we hunker down for the night and noticed our three adult room only came with two bathrobes, two bath towels, and barely enough soap to get through the night. We thought the morning crew would be more cheerful to deal with so we would ask for more towel and shampoo the next day. To start our new day when we woke up, we tried to make coffee but noticed the room only had decaf. Well we believe death before decaf so I put on my best puppy face to beg for some caffeinated coffee. The young man behind the counter laughed at me and our first world problem. After digging through his drawer, he realized that he too was out of caffeinated coffee. So he said he would ask house keeping to bring us regular coffee "right away". 45 minutes later, still no sight of anyone bringing us coffee to brew. We left a note requesting more towels, shampoo, one extra bathrobe, and coffee. Then we hanged the house keeping needed sign on our door and left to explore the area. After a long wonderful day of exploring the area we came back to find our room hadn't been touched. No towels, no shampoo, no bathrobe, and my god no caffeinated coffee! Once again I went back to the front desk to beg for what one would hope to be included with the price of the hotel room. The gentleman behind the counter heard my pleas and then proceeded to tell me no one touched my room because the dog was in it.. Well then I hope some one could tell me whose dog I took to all the wineries for the day!? Then, the gentleman explained that my expectations were to high, being the units were like apartments and house keeping doesn't treat them like a typical hotel room. At this point my blood started to boil and the hotel phone began to ring. Three people were working the front desk then - the gentleman helping me, a woman texting on her phone (the same one who rolled her eyes when I asked for the wifi yesterday), and one other staff member who looked like she was reading a book. After the 10th ring the guy "helping" me asked his colleagues if anyone could answer the phone. The texting woman put down her cell phone. At this point I understood that no one cares to do his/her job, and asked if the hotel had been sold or if there was a labour dispute happening. I was told that the management stopped caring a while ago and "some" staff is doing what it can to keep the hotel together. I was told that he would help us call housekeeping to bring us some towels, etc. 20 minutes later we did get some more towels, bars of soap (instead of shampoo), and yes some caffeinated coffee for the next day. We still did not get a bathrobe but we decided to give up on asking. I have stayed at a wide spectrum of star ratings. However, I have never met a staff so indifferent and uncaring about their service as the staff at Spirit Ridge. Don't ever stay here! We stayed four days and never had clean towels, or new coffee, or any refills of shampoo or anything you need like that (which I am seeing here from other reviews). My 8 month old was attacked by "citronella ants" on the bed while I was feeding him, I thought it was weird that they were all on the bed, and maybe bed bugs? They said it wasn't bed bugs but changed the whole bed and sprayed with chemicals! Front desk was rude, argued with me about putting us in a room that required me going up stairs with a stroller.. They put all the family's in the cactus suites! I said I didn't want to be facing a parking lot, she said it was a "court yard", sounds kinda nice right?.. Was actually facing cars and a pool in parking lot! When you call to guests services they do not answer. Outsourced customer service. When I did I was upset and would write on Yelp, They said they would respond to my review. I said go right ahead! So here you go! Everyone who works here hates tourists. Manager ate dinner while talking on phone. No nice conversation, makes you feel like a burden for some clean towels. Get better service elsewhere! Not worth the money. When I asked house keeping why we don't see cleaners, they said they do it now every 2 days instead of daily, but I was here for four days, and even when I asked for a cleaner no one came! This is our third (and final) visit to Spirit Ridge "Resort". We paid to up-grade our room to a corner king with a hot-tub on the deck and a view of the lake. When we arrived we waited 30 minutes to check-in. Despite having several bus tours and a full-house the front desk was clearly unprepared. Line ups in the heat snaked out the lobby and into the parking lot. The room was a terrible disappointment. There was no lake view - only the parking lot and the building next door. If we stretched our neck and stood on our tip-toes over the railing on the balcony, we might catch a glimpse of the lake. The hot tub on the deck was an oversized bathtub, poorly installed and much too dirty to use. I could see the scum-line levels of all the previous guests. Spiders, dust and dirt surrounded the base of the hot tub, making it filthy inside and out. The carpet in the room was fraying, several light bulbs had blown out, and only the "surface" areas of the room were clean. Don't even THINK about moving anything, because it will not have been cleaned underneath. We asked to be moved to another room and we were told that because the hotel was completely full we had no options. No apologies, No compensation. The gift shop is a joke - no newspapers, books or magazines, and the clerk said they were still trying to "figure out whether they were a gift store or a convenience stores". I told her they were neither. In summary, this resort needs to hire a good Executive Housekeeper who understands that 'clean' is not a relative terms in the hospitality business. And they need to hire a professional Chief Engineer to oversee the routine maintenance and repairs required to keep a guest rooms in good shape. And a course in Customer Service would benefits everyone, but especially the Front Desk. My husband and I travel extensively and we both work in this business. This resort charges 5-star prices and offers a 2-star experience. read more

We spent two nights at this lovely location at the end of July. The weather was superb. We were there to celebrate our daughter's birthday and tour some of the local wineries. The accomodations were comfortable and adequate but the necessities such as dishwashing soap weren't anywhere to be found. The restaurant that was attached to the Inkameep winery had an astonishing view and ambience but it had to rank as the worst eating out experience our family has ever had, We arrived before sunset and noticed the place had quite a few empty tables. Nevertheless we were asked if we had reservations and made to feel almost as if we were imposing. Three of our expensive and unpalatable meals arrived after a wait of over an hour. At that point the waiter confessed he had not remembered our son's order and when reminded, promised to bring it right away,,,,that took another fifteen minutes. All of our meals we overdone and poorly presented. Several of the tables left without getting service. When I asked who to complain to I was given a card with a contact address and promptly sent off a letter of complaint. There has been no acknowledgement. If you decfide to stay, eat in town, there is good food and service to be had. read more

Stayed for 5 nights during the Ironman Canada event in August. Facing a challenge of finding last minute accommodations prior to the race, we discovered Spirit Ridge on Expedia, and we couldn't have been happier. Got a great rate (and I mean really great), and they upgraded us to a two-bedroom suite upon arrival with a large balcony, full kitchen and washer/dryer. All the staff were extremely helpful. Can't offer too much information about the private beach area, the restaurants, or the winery because we spent most of our time dealing with race preparation in Penticton. However, we found the resort very relaxing and a nice antidote to the craziness of the Ironman. We extended our stay an additional day to enjoy the area and were not disappointed. I only give the resort 4/5 stars because of two facts. First, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the furnishings are kinda cookie-cutter (think Ikea, not Four Seasons). Second, the golf course leaves a lot to be desired. Very short, only nine holes, no bunkers, and not very challenging for a better golfer. That said, the course would be perfect for a family outing. read more

A wonderful spot with great staff and amenities, a nice Executive 9 Golf Course, two pools (one adult) a SPA, Desert Centre, and a number of restaurants. Wish we could have been there longer to take advantage of more of the options. We were up from Houston Texas, visiting our Vancouverite daughter who surprised and joined us for a great two days in the region. The Spirit Ridge property is gorgeous when we arrive we were greeted with a nice glass of Pinot Noir while we checked in and Deryk gave us a full run down on the facilities. We settled into our lovely suite overlooking the first hole of the course with the spectacular, ever changing hillside as the panoramic backdrop. The suite was meticulous. Off we went for a stroll and tasting at NK'MIP and then a nice glass of wine on the deck overlooking the vineyard. Then a nice walk through the vineyard to the lake. We scoped out the pools and wished we had a couple more days but our goal this trip was visiting Wineries. I was however, impressed with all the facilities and programs for kids, stables, helicopter and more. We will definitely be back. To top it all off we were checking out on July 4 and Deryk made a point of sending us off with red, white and blue cupcakes... what a touch read more
