Terrible customer service. I received a gift box from my cousin over Christmas of the Strawberry scent. I quite liked the products. I was going to go and get a gift set for a friend and traveled to the Willow Grove mall in PA to make a purchase. Turns out the store is no longer there. Splash never updated their locations to note that the Willow Grove Mall store no longer existed. Fine, no problem. I was going to order online and wanted to know what their Mermaid scent smelled like. Other scents are obvious...mango, strawberry, etc. But what does mermaid smell like? No clue. There are no scent descriptions on their site. So I messaged them on their website to ask. I never received a response. I tried another time to message through Instagram. Again, I never received a response even though they were posting stories so they clearly had been on. I decided to try the last resort of sending an email to the one listed on their website. Again, never received a response. How hard is it to respond to your customers looking to make purchases? Why would also not include a scent profile on each of your products? How in the world am I supposed to know what "Mermaid" smells like. Obviously, I decided not to move forward with purchasing a gift for my friend. read more

One star is generous. Came here with my husband over the weekend at myrtle beach. I love baths and bath bombs so I was excited to go in and try this stuff. The stag was pretty rude and stayed on their phones most the time. A man wrung me up and offered me some other deal that I wasn't interested in, so he scoffed at me. Should have been my first clue I feel like I took a bath in paste. There's crap all over me. My bathtub is purple. And covered in this stringy goopy crap. I'm pretty disgusted. read more

Stopped by while doing some shopping, every thing smelled so good. The two ladies in the shop were very friendly and helpful. They offered advice to my 83 year old mother about a scar on her leg. Some of the things the told her try, they didn't sell in the store. I really enjoyed watching the sales lady shave the Shea butter, my mother bought a 4oz container to try, and we were told that we could order it online if she liked it. Lush ripoff, and frankly, I should've gone there instead. My friend and I were vacationing in Myrtle Beach last month and visited the amazing Broadway shops. Stellar shopping experience until we entered this store. Pushy sales associates and the prices were very expensive, even for "posh" standards. My girlfriend and I still wanted to look around, as her daughter is a beautician, and she wanted to return home with lots of lotions and oils that she would enjoy. One of the sample jars was screwed on tightly, and she asked me to open it. Well, she must have loosened it, because when I went to open it, the jar opened quickly and the oil inside spilled all over my shirt, pants, shoes, and floor. An unhappy sales girl eventually came over as we were cleaning things up with a paper towel roll they had near the sample soaps. I repeatedly apologized to the girl, and tried to clean myself up in the process in vain. She was on the floor, at my feet, cleaning the oil that spilled, and not once looked up or acknowledged my ruined clothes or apologies. It was like we weren't even there. She got back up and went back behind the counter without a word. I continued to look around for another minute, shocked over what had occurred and looking myself over in the mirror (I just bought this nice too, too...what a klutz), and my friend suddenly grabbed my arm and said "Let's go. We're not giving them any of our money." If you're looking for pleasant customer service, you won't find it here. Ladies who work there, if you're reading this, take your 1-star reviews to heart! If you don't like your job, find something else and let more pleasant girls who need a job replace you!!! read more

I'm surprised no one else has reviewed this place. Located at Broadway, this boutique has a variety of bath and beauty products that are unscented and then you work with a store employee to create a custom scent with oils. I LOVE this kind of shop and have visited a few of similar concept. The problem with this location is that it's such a ripoff! The products are priced at such an inflated rate (like $20 for a sample size lotion). I came in to browse and was approached by a store associate who told me in a whisper that today I could get something half price (this was the first week in June before prime vacation time). That made the products seem reasonably priced! I decided to make a bubble bath and created my scent. I was happy with the scent and this part of the process. When I walk to the register, she rang the product up as full price. When I reminded her about the half off deal, she told me she only gives that on the SECOND product (as in buy one get one half off) when I know that was not the offer she had previously told me. I didn't want to argue because there was a line behind me, but I was furious. I paid $21 dollars for a small bottle of bubble bath. Oh, and when I got home I discovered that it doesn't even hold bubbles :( Never again will I return here. TLDR...this location is a ripoff with inflated prices and shady "deals." Avoid on your trip to the beach and instead take a drive out to Pawley's Island and go to Body & Bath Cafe. read more

This place reminded me of lush, they had lots of cute bath bombs, some shaped like cupcakes, and scrubs and stuff. I agree with others that it is overpriced, I paid $8 for a relatively small lip scrub. The sales people weren't super friendly and kind of just watched you like a hawk. When I was checking out the lady offered me a deal if I bought two more cupcake bath bombs, and she actually seemed visibly annoyed when I said no thanks. That being said, the stuff is still super cute, and my boyfriend and mom were both super happy with the gifts I got them so I'm glad I stopped in. read more

Although the products smell good, they don't work and are just too expensive. Also one time while we were on vacation they had a tube you could fill with tiny bath bombs. On the sign it never said how many, just as long as the lid was closed. The display had about 6 in a tube with more room in it. When I filled up mine, I got 7 to fit perfectly with the lid closed. Then the cashier was watching my family like we did something terribly wrong and was yelling at us to put the 7th bath bomb back in the bin. The lady was incredibly rude to us and once again, the sign never said how many were allowed in the tube. I'm never going back to Splash ever again. They just lost a loyal customer and I highly advise to not shop there. The bath bombs don't fizz well at all and they're the same price if not more expensive than the ones at Lush, which are much better quality then the ones at Splash. Overall, the quality of the products and the employees are very poor here. read more

I was surprised to see the 1 star reviews and even more upset to see the 5 star reviews hidden as non relevant. I have passed this store many times on my visits to Broadway at the beach. I decided to stop in on my last trip and pick up some shea butter and soaps. I received the 3rd soap for free - buy 2 get 1 free. The prices may seem high, but the quality of the products are pure and natural. I don't put chemicals or artificial anything on my body. I returned the next day to purchase shampoo and conditioner in a bar form. I loved the idea of not having to worry about getting on a plane with more than 3 ozs and having stuff open in my bags. These little bars have no packaging (another plus for me) and last 3 months. Since I was a returning customer I received 4 for the price of 2. I find the sales associates friendly and helpful. Keep an open mind and try it yourself. read more

As someone whom is also in the bath and body business, I know some of the stress you WILL encounter in a storefront location. But...upon entering I noticed 3 employees;one of whom was said to be the owner "mingling" around the store seemingly doing more loss and prevention than customer service. I was extremely rushed by the African American lady at the cash register and when I asked about the products I was buying she basically looked through me trying to see what was happening throughout the store. Bottom line, if you feel you have to watch the store for thieves more than being attentive to paying customers, you should keep your business online. I love supporting other soapmakers but I cant give my money to people that seem like they really dont want or appreciate it. The products were nice and priced as to be expected but service SUCKS!! Walked in after seeing a sign advertising 80% off due to a closeout renovation. The lady working there was very helpful and friendly. I bought a cupcake bath bomb ($3), a small bath bomb($1), a bar of soap($2), lip balm ($2), and lip scrub ($2). I love the lip scrub, balm, and the soap. I also love that none of the products have any chemicals. I'm sure if I had paid full price I would have taken another star. read more

I love this store !!! i got some Shea butter and soaps. A lady with dark hair told me that Shea butter works really good for rough skin and some other things. I've used many Shea butter before which was supposed to be all natural. But it wasn't. I hesitated to get it from this store. And now I'm glad I did it ! This Shea butter is my lifesaver. I have such a soft skin now. I use it every night before bed. And Soaps are fun. The soaps I got were embedded with christmas tree. Such cool gifts for Christmas. I'm sure my mom will love them. I'm addicted to this store. Next time when I visit myrtle, this place is definitely the first stop I want to be at !!! read more

My wife and me experienced a similar sales pitch at Splash, only the pitch was 50% off the second one purchased. The negative review that was posted above, I feel was unfair and probably caused by lack of good communications between the salesperson and customer. The lady (customer) should have refused to buy the product, at the time of purchase. Instead she leaves mad with the feeling of being ripped-off with the revenge mode most of us have When in fact she misunderstood the sales person. I own a business with 7 locations and two other businesses in West Virginia and Ohio with one location each. We get customers that most of time when they have a problem it's caused by not hearing what the salesperson said but hearing what they the customer wanted to hear. I think this is what happened in this case. As far as price of the product: This customer has "NO IDEA" what the rent is at "Broadway At The Beach" and to stay in business you need to make a profit. Some of my stores are $1000.00 a month + utilities (stand alone locations) and other locations (Malls) are $4,500 per month + overage of 10% of all sales + fees to keep the mall clean + utilities. Broadway is an open air Mall. With high rent! That is why the higher price per product. Our experience at Splash was positive, informative, friendly and we purchased terrific products, that my wife loves!!! Why am I responding to this negative review? I 'am tired of social media that let's people that should have talked to the business owner or manager to try to resolve their problem and didn't. Go home and try to put the business out of business. Or they are friends with a competitor and are trying to hurt that business with false accusations.
