The building is a repurposed elementary school. So it has charm as well as enough space that I never feel cramped. I also appreciate that staff members go out of their way to make sure I have a positive experience. They are courteous as well as professional & personable--always ready to talk baseball with me when I want! Finally, I want to mention that the owners/managers are constantly updating both the facility & the equipment.

I felt like the membership manager was pushy and disregarded my requests and didnt answer my questions. I had to be firm in my request to see a trainer who was familiar and knowledgeable with rotator cuff repair surgery. I ultimately signed up and started my membership. The facility is ok. Its in an old school building and gives the feeling as such. I dont feel like they do a good job with cleaning the equipment and they could use additional sets of dumbbells between 8-12lbs for the main room. I have had sessions with a few different trainers and Chris is by far my favorite. He literally asks you a bunch of questions and personalizes your workout to align with your goals. The membership rate is a bit pricey but it gives you access to other facilities in the area and this facility also has a sauna and steam room and a recovery room. They also have a massage therapist and staff who provide stretch recovery sessions. I use them because it is conveniently located to my home and work but looking at other options for when my contract is up.

They also have two locker rooms near the indoor pool (which is not insulated) and I'm the main gym area. Towel service is included with your membership! I actually like that it is a regular, basic gym and not high tech and fancy. Two minor issues is the showers by the indoor pool take a bit to warm up, if at all...and some do not have shower curtains. The second issue, again with the same locker room is it's hard to find a working one. Initial fee pp is $75 and we got the family membership for $120/month. For the holidays they are offering 50% off your initial fee if you bring in 5 canned items!

Though the equipment is not brand-new (don't expect a personal tv on your treadmill) and the space is limited (only 4 treadmills, 2 ellpiticals, and 2 bikes) Waterside Fitness is a neighborhood gym where the staff will recognize you and you'll get to know others who attend as well. The gym has a few classes including aerobics, yoga, and strength and there's no extra fee to attend if you're a member. All in all, it's just what I need on a daily basis. But if you're looking for a cutting edge place like WSC where there are rows and rows of equipment and a full schedule of back-to-back classes, you'll be disappointed. The membership fees are around $50/month and they'll give you a guest pass for a day to check it out before you join.

Today, my boyfriend experienced what we felt was a microaggression and discriminatory treatment…read morefrom a front desk employee named Jacob. The interaction was extremely disappointing and ultimately resulted in my boyfriend canceling his membership after being a member for over a year. Prior to today, there had been no communication, email, or notice informing members that locks could not be left on lockers. However, my boyfriend arrived to find a note specifically placed on his locker regarding his lock. What made the situation particularly concerning was that multiple other lockers also had locks on them, yet those lockers did not have the same notice. When my boyfriend approached the front desk to ask why he appeared to have been singled out, Jacob repeatedly interrupted him while he was trying to explain his concerns. My boyfriend also noticed Jacob pointing in his direction and then walking away once he realized my boyfriend had seen him. Rather than listening to his concerns and addressing the situation professionally, Jacob's behavior made the interaction feel dismissive, targeted, and uncomfortable. My boyfriend has been a member of this gym for over a year, so for an interaction with one employee to make him feel uncomfortable enough to cancel his membership says a lot. The gym itself is wonderful, but Jacob's conduct and the inconsistent enforcement of the locker policy need to be seriously reviewed by management. Unfortunately, based on how this situation was handled, I cannot recommend this location.

Beginner Trapeze Class…read more If you've ever wanted to fly through the air with the greatest of ease (and a safety harness), this is the place. I signed up for the beginner trapeze class, and let me tell you, "beginner" here does not mean "everyone's brand new." Most of the class clearly had been before, which at first was a little intimidating... but the vibe? Supportive. There are three instructors, each strategically posted like trapeze guardian angels: one up top, one on the ground, one mid-zone to help you through the process. They give you the info you need, then give you space to actually process it--not just bark orders. It's a smart balance of guidance and "you got this." I'll be honest: standing up on that platform is terrifying at first. But between the calm coaching and the cheering from classmates, you find your footing (literally). And once you take that leap, you get why people keep coming back. The environment is fun, well-run, and just the right amount of challenge. If you're looking to shake up your routine, face a fear, or just have a story that will blow "I went to brunch" out of the water--this is it. Highly recommend.

First, it's an ADULT KICKBALL league that focuses more on the social aspects than the actual sport. Sure, most of the players are in their mid to late 20's but there are older players as well (like me). I am in the military as well and Dan has been nothing but wonderful when it came to dealing with military issues. Hell, he donated kickball gear that we are sending downrange for the troops to play to have a little fun. How awesome is that?!? You can't go wrong with this group. It is a ton of fun and the people are all great. The parties are a blast and it's a really fun way to meet new people in a neutral environment. I have yet to meet someone I did not like. Give it a try...after all, you're never lonely when you're NAKID! ;-)

My friends and I signed up for the Thursday night winter dodgeball league and, less than a week before the first game, we received an email notifying us that the day of games was changed to Wednesday and the location had changed as well... Well, it turns out most folks on the original team couldn't make Wednesdays (because we're adults who planned to join a Thursday league and not a Wednesday league), so we tried to get in touch with them on a multitude of platforms to request refunds. This is how that went: - 5 of us sent multiple emails to their listed email addresses (info@playnakid.com and dc@playnakid.com) requesting refunds and all of our emails have gone unanswered; - we called the number listed on their website/facebook page/yelp page (855-466-2543) but the number has been disconnected; - I have reached out via the Feedback option on their website, which has been unanswered; - I TWEETED at them...but they haven't posted a new tweet since 2015...and... -I wrote this yelp review - which I don't think will do much good, but I'm frustrated and needed a platform in which to tell the Yelp World about how unorganized, unprofessional and overall shady this organization is. My recommendation: choose another league to throw balls at people's faces!! AND NAKID - GIVE US OUR REFUNDS, DAMMIT.
