Cojo's is another shop that's been in Louth for years and years!…read more It sells sporting goods, and is a veritable treasure trove - they cram an awful lot in, and you can almost always find what you're looking for even though it's a small shop. Cojo's also stock Louth school uniforms which is very useful. I think Louth is defined by shops like Cojo's which supply a clear market need and are run professionally by friendly staff. Although I have to admit to hardly ever needing to visit them - ours isn't the most sporting of families!

Spinning Wheel is a fantastic little shop in the heart of Louth town centre…read more When i say little shop i mean it is little, there isnt a great deal of room inside, though they do seem to maximise the use of the space without it appearing to be overcrowded. They have 3 changing rooms at the back of the shop which have always been clean and tidy everytime i have been in there. The staff are always pleasant and polite. They stock a range of designer and non designer clothes and i think the cheapest i have seen an item in there was a top for a fiver! If you like Spinning Wheel be sure to check out the Spinning Wheel Clearance shop round the corner in Aswell Street which sells all of Spinning Wheels old stock at usually less than half price! Between Spinning Wheel and Spinning Wheel Clearance these two shops saved my sanity and actually gave me somewhere decent to shop whilst living in Louth.

However, with the unusual styles comes higher prices, although these are worth it. It's also a very small shop, and hard to shop in if you have a buggy (lots of shops in Louth suffer in this way!). Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the clothes they sell, and it's a nice shopping experience.

For some reason they have stopped selling maternity wear in this branch which is really annoying. The prices are quite high, however the quality is high. They do however have some good sales where you can get items at bargain prices. there is 4 fitting rooms and i have never had to queue. The prices in the store are quite reasonable for the quality - they are more expensive than asda or tesco for instance but the quality is also better. Apart from the suits the majority of the clothing is aimed at the more mature man - more formal casual than trendy casual - but if you're looking for a bargain work suit and shoes this is a good place to go. The staff are always very friendly and they at least know what they are selling unlike the staff in supermarkets. They will also (tactfully) tell you if something doesn't suit you and try to get you into something that does suit you - again something you won't find in supermarkets who are only interested in the quick sale. There is always a hot blond willing to watch for a little while. New Look is just across the street from this town center. It's a small store since this is a really small town. But it has the essentials. I don't know what it is about England but things are trendier. I have issue with the wide use of jersey. But that's because I'm built like a pork pie. On the day I came in to purchase a belt, the credit card machine was not working. Luckily the belt was on sale and I had enough cash. There was a good chunk of the store on sale. The store sells everything from shoes, to belts, to clothing, to underwear. I was told that New Look has some nice bras. I walked by this store frequently, since it was on the way to the bakery. And the chip shop. And the drugstore. And it was always busy. Must be the sale. The shop is kept pretty organized and clean. Well lit. Trendy store for trendy pieces.

Their £10 jeans are a bargain for a start! They have a good range of well-priced basics which are good quality for the price, and they also do very funky shoes. The staff are friendly and helpful and welcoming, which is important in a clothes shop, and no one seems to mind if you drag the kids with you - another important plus point for clothes shops. The changing rooms are a bit small, but that frees up more space for clothes stock so no-one's moaning. And they're very good about returns anyway if you don't have time to try before you buy.

It's a bit like Boyes stores in that it has a wide variety of household and clothing items often at ridiculously low prices - obviously overstocks, last season, bankrupt stock, slight seconds etc. I tend to go here for tough outdoor clothing. Both of my current 'heavy weather' coats are from here. One (a long waterproof coat with fleece lining) cost me the princely sum of £10 and the other - a rather fantastic wax jacket - cost a massive £15. I also recently got a pair of fully lined thinsulate fingerless gloves/mittens for £4 from there too. I'm just appalled that I live in Grimsby where I would expect to be able to find something and in the last two occasions that I've wanted a heavy duty coat I've had to go to Louth to get it. It's testament to the quality and variety of shops in Louth. Anyway, there are a lot of other clothes for men women and children and other household goods too numerous to mention. The only downside is that there never seems to be many staff on and they seem a bit indifferent in their attitude.

There is none of the clutter to lessen the shopping experience that you get in so many of the London vintage shops, giving the impression that each item has been hand picked for this store, rather than being a jumble sale that you have to wade through in hope of stumbling across a gem. I loved the women's bags and accessories, and happily left with some scarves for my collection. I expect that I will be back before my short stay in Lincoln is over. Definitely worth a visit!

I was drawn in by the accessories in the window. They had some cute stuff, nothing in my size and the accessories, while lovely, were not necessities on this particular trip. The clothing selection is a bit limited because there is no clutter and the racks aren't overflowing with clothing, but that's kind of what I like about it.
