I got no answers to any of my questions, no information or review about my state or any recommendation about treatment or rehab, or anything to do... nothing, nothing at all except for a reading and a letter of information already known.

Between the exercises prescribed and the ultra-sounding directly to the point of swelling on each visit, there has been a huge improvement. The exercises do take some effort, but are not grueling. I could feel the benefits immediately. She is a positive physiotherapists who I can recommend to anyone who is looking for one.

Visits are about 50 euro (cash only) and last between 30-45 minutes. And, better yet, there's no milking the injury - when the PT sees you've made progress, appointments are fewer and far between. They WANT to see you back in good working condition! So, after about five appointments (a huge difference compared to four months of appointments back home) I felt great and only returned to check that all is 'healing' properly. Ok so I've been looking for a yoga studio that I REALLY like in Dublin for quite some time. They're…read morealways either too smelly or too regimented or too fake or have terrible schedules or not enough choice. Enter the Elbow Room. It's not quuiite five star (purely because the classes don't fit exactly to my schedule, so I'd prefer if there were a few more to choose from), but it's very nearly there. Firstly, it's in a very old building that's been renovated nicely, in that bit of Dublin that's kinda Smithfield, kinda Stoneybatter. There's something about the approach to the building that instills a calm in me already - there's nothing more off-putting than trying to get your zen on in a community hall or office block. The calm continues inside with nice homely decor, and an overriding sense of tranquility (candles and insence are great aren't they!) Then there is the range of classes available. Everything from Vinyasa Flow to Hatha, Ashtanga and Hot Yoga. As I said, it would be great if they had a choice of one of these per day - they are spread out over the week - so this won't be the studio for you if you want to do only one type per day. There is also a free vege lunch if you attend one of the day time classes. The classes that I've been to so far have generally had about 15 people in them, so it's never been too crowded. I've also not had a teacher that I haven't rated highly. This is all after just a few weeks in this spot, so come back for the re-review in a few months time, but for now, I'm zenned up like a *&*%^!

I needed somewhere close to where I live and worked, this PhysioCare is practically halfway between the two. A bit of a gamble, but I am glad I went with it. Met by Eoin, he explained everything that needed to be done and explained everything he was doing when working on my knee. He also went over the exercises he was giving me precisely and I left very confident with the session, with what he told me and the exercises he prescribed. I felt in no way rushed and he even went over the 30 mins allocated to the appointment. In the past with other physio experiences, I have left feeling the appointment was rushed. Or that I left a bit baffled, not knowing what I should have been asking. But on this occasion after the only surgery I have ever had, I left feeling none of that. All the following visits have been in the same vein, positive. Eoin is always positive and he managed to instil confidence back into me when on some visits I thought I wasn't making much progress. And I've made excellent progress. Hurrah! PS 30 min appointments here cost 60 EUR

So, I decided to book in for a massage. The building is located next to the major bus stop on Suffolk street. So although I had to navigate around a bunch of people to get to the door, I was able to find it quite easily. I ascended up the stairs, and was promptly greeted by a woman at the front desk. I was offered water, and given some forms to fill out. Shortly after filling out the forms, Siobhan came out to greet me and take me back to the massage therapy room. She made sure to ask about my health history, how I prefer to be massaged, so that she could tailor the massage experience directly to what I wanted. I was glad she asked too, because there have been a few times where I've been to a massage therapist and they did not go as deep as I would have liked. Siobhan took this into account, and made sure I received a good deep tissue massage. The oil wasn't too much, the scents were not too much, the music was just right. It was probably one of the most relaxing hours I've had in a long time, and was exactly what I needed. Now, massages are not something I get particularly regularly, simply because they are a bit over my own personal budget. The deep tissue massage ran for 75 euros for an hour. So, I only ever save massages as a nice treat. However, they seem to run monthly specials on their website that are quite decent. The next time I do get a massage, would likely come here again.

As I wasn't sure, what was wrong with my knee, I was seeking for diagnosis first. Woman, who inspected me, couldn't do diagnosis to me. Disappointment. I had a guess of from what I could be suffering. Your woman would talk around the issue without trying to diagnose it and give me proper treatment. I was treated with laser (Thor). After my repetitive question "what exactly is my knee's problem?", what told that laser will take care of whatever the problem is in that area. Ok, sorry, but I want to know what's wrong first. That's why I came here. To diagnose and then heal the wound. I didn't get the answers I was looking for. Without diagnosis I was informed straight away that I'd need from 6 to 12 sessions. Couldn't believe it. Never coming back here. It all seemed unprofessional. I was informed more about how laser works and how NASA and many professional sports players are using it, but less talk about what exactly is wrong with my knee and how it originated. Maybe that laser is great and does it's magic, but I came for diagnosis first and got started treated without one. That's not clever or I'm ignorant to think so? Price is relatively cheap (€40). They do sneaky discounts saying up to 25%, where I doubt anyone will get the whole 25% off, they would give you half of it. Lastly, this is only me, and I might be wrong here, but my experience and opinion are stated above. Let me know, if you've encountered it otherwise.
