First timer. St. Honore is 3 stars. It was ok. I have had much better (made by my father who was a French pastry chef, and made by me as well). The pate a choux was good but the cream was not. It was missing something. I loved the concept of a mini tart size. Brioche is two stars. It was not good. Not brioche at all since the dough was so different and tastes so generic. I had brioches's in Fribourg and there you will have the authentic French experience of the Brioche. Over priced for the experience.

A very famous place for visitors AND for the locals. A long waiting time during lunch and if you eat solo (like me), you might be asked to share a table with strangers. The food is great except I personally not a fan of seating with other people especially "forced" to.

When your friends back home ask for Swiss chocolates you must buy them from here! You definitely cannot find this brand back home, and it tastes a zillion times better than Lindt. The store feels very posh, and the tins the chocolate come in are really fancy. I stocked up right before my flight and they made it back without issue, and everyone was happy with their new chocolates.

A must visit Swiss luxury confectionary cafe when you're in Zurich. They have their signature macarons called "Luxemburgerli", handmade Swiss chocolates, cakes (amazing chocolate truffle cake) and baked goods (cheese twists, Bretzelkönig). -- voodie rating: 8/10

Champagne! Salted Caramel! Chocolate! Hazelnut! Mocha! All these flavors and more easily shine through these delicious luxembergerli creations. Are they pastries? Macaroons, perhaps? Or mini cakes maybe? No.. they are in their own category... LUXEMBERGERLI! I'm told they are like macaroons, but I'm not in a position to compare, as I haven't tasted macaroons before.. that will change in my upcoming Paris trip! :) Overall, these little, plump and chubby airy pieces of heaven are tasty and delicate! I normally do not have a sweet tooth, but I admit, I bought a box of 15 pieces to sample the different variations. Although passing out a few of them, I ate most of them.. within the same day! The good thing though is, despite the reality, I didn't feel guilty since these seemed to be light, fluffy treats!

One of the best eclairs I've ever had!

The little macaron Luxumbourgis are fantastic, we ended up getting a box of them and they offered us free one each. I'm a big fan of macarons in general and these are as good as any I've had - in fact the little mandarin ones are particularly good while the others are on par with any I've had in Paris and London. After enjoying the shop on the ground floor, we headed up to the first floor for the main tea room where we had a couple of drinks and some cakes. I had a really quite good eclair while my wife had this tarli thing with chestnut... well... I'm not sure what to call it - strings? fondant? icing? Probably string paste is the closest. Anyway, it was interesting and really pretty but I wasn't the biggest fan as it was just too strong for me. My wife ordered a hot chocolate, which was strong and not at all sweet - it was a much more savoury chocolate than we were expecting but it was really good all the same. Almost made you think that it was every other hot chocolate that tastes wrong. But a warning - it came with a little chocolate which I ate - I popped the whole thing in my mouth and started eating it... MISTAKE!!!! It's really strong, like the strongest dark chocolate I've ever had. Don't eat it all at once, it might be small but nibble on it as it's super intense!

Yelp Review 2023 #22:…read more Läderach is one of my favorite chocolatiers in the whole world. I eat chocolate everyday, and I travel the world sampling chocolates. I've been to Belgium which some say has the best chocolate. I've been to France, Italy, UK, Germany, Finland, and Ecuador - they do have some good chocolate. But I will always want Swiss chocolate. There are three chocolatiers in Switzerland that I love. I like Läderach because they don't overcomplicate their combinations. And they give you free samples. You can buy boxes of chocolates, truffles by the bag, chocolate slabs by the gram. My favorites are the chocolate with whole hazelnut slabs, and chocolate cornflake slabs. They have a nice selection of chocolate + hazelnut so I get a box of those in different varieties. This particular location is at the Central Station which is convenient. There is another Läderach outside Central Station. Whichever location you go to, you can expect the same great experience and some of the finest chocolates that will ever touch your mouth.

This place has some excellent dark and white chocolate in addition to the traditional milk. You can get a huge variety of truffles, or they have slabs of chocolate with various inclusions like candied oranges, blackberry, roasted hazelnuts or almonds, or even some more exotic varieties with things like pink peppercorns or pistachios. The people at Läderach pride themselves on FRESHNESS, so I wouldn't recommend overbuying. Not that it was much of a problem for us: the first bag was gone within a day, so we had to plan a return trip before we left the country and quadrupled our "pilot" purchase. If you need to spend those extra CHF before you leave out, there are worse things to spend it on... just be sure to stay under the duty free limit :D

Why couldn't I have found this place earlier? If I had found it the day I got into Switzerland, I'm…read moresure I would have eaten my way in Luxembergeli (it's basically a macaron). It's right by the airport. (And by that I literally mean inside the airport). So, it's super convenient for souvenirs while you're traveling. They sell them by the weight and oh my goodness! Each one is a bite of heaven. We ended up buying almost twelve or so and worried that we might have bought way too many. But, we quickly learned there's no such thing as too many. They are simply divine. Just a little bit of crunch and gooey deliciousness. My favorite one was the Rose with Strawberries. (at least I think it was strawberries... chances are it could also be raspberries!) But, honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the options. Another unusual one I enjoyed was the Strawberry Rhubarb. The only thing I would warn you about is watiting to long to eat them. They're sooo good the first day or two, but get stale if you wait a week. So eat up! While you're here, don't forget to pick up some truffles too! Those are just as good as the luxembergeli, but luckily last much longer. I didn't try any of the unusual flavors, but all their chocolate was the bomb. The white chocolate truffles were absolutely my favorite of all. I wish I could say I'll be back soon, but I guess I might not be able to come back. But, anytime I'm near I'll definitely try to come back soon. For now, I might just have to settle with international delivery for special occasions.

There is a store on one side with all kinds of chocolates and goodies. We didn't order anything and stepped in the cafe side. We ordered their hot chocolate, the server noted they were famous for it, and it was awesome. Delicious and the best hot chocolate I've had. It's a premium place and pricey . . . like everything in Zurich and this time it was worth it. Great service and a memorable experience.

Yelp Review 2026 #77:…read more Honold Tea Room was closed for renovations on my recent trip to Zürich. The tea room is old but has character. Right now, they have a temporary stall a few feet away from the tea room. Find a yellow stall at the corner of Oetenbachgasse and Bahnhofstrasse. This temporary location is of course small and there are about only 3 small tables a coupld of chairs. The menu is limited to their most popular items: latte, hot chocolate, matcha, frappe, ice cream, sorbet, fruit tart, chocolate mousse, cake slices, sandwiches, and pastries. They have a dessert called Teddy which is like a mousse shaped like a Teddy bear - the flavor changes every season. I didn't like the flavor available (citron) so, I didn't get one. Take note: the price of their food is higher for dine-in vs to-go. Latte Macchiato: A nice thick foam and a strong taste of espresso. They have lactose-free milk which is nice. 4/5 Hot Chocolate: Züri Oberland Milch mit hauseigener Couverture Grand Cru. Using only local milk and their grand cru chocolate, it's a good cup of hot chocolate. 4/5 Service is friendly, quick and efficient.

Prices might appear high at first, but compared to factory-made chocolate it is definitely worth the extra buck. They have nice Pralinés (with and without boxes) and other chocolate-related products. But we always come here for the chunks of fresh chocolate. Even though at first we weren't much into dark chocolate, that changed after trying some of these products here. They just taste different (and better) than their famous counterparts from Lindt / Cailler etc. Some of our favorites are the white "Glacier", the "Florentiner Milch" and the "Honig Milch". But the dark ones are somewhat the best. We love the "Orange Mandel", "Grand Cru Brasil", "Cabruca Baumnuss" and the lovely fruity "Brombeer Dunkel". All good stuff. You can ask for some samples if you're not sure and ask nicely. You can get it by weight or also in a nice tin can, stays fresher that way. Since their standard is equally high in any of their branches it doesn't matter you buy them here in Zurich, in Lucerne or wherever. Highly recommended. As a souvenir, as a gift....or just to treat yourself :)
