Found about the spring tour bus after seeing a groupon ad. I was searching for reviews about this bus before booking one, I couldn't find any review about this bus anywhere, so I was a little reluctant. I took a chance and booked one way ticket from Cincinnati to New york, and was not sure what to expect. Overall I would say I had positive experience traveling in this bus. The bus stop in the downtown is a little confusing, no one who boarded from Cincinnati were not sure if they were waiting in the right place. It is better you call their number and double check. There is enough leg space and the seats are reclinable, I am about 6ft and I felt it was just about ok, wouldn't rate it too comfortable. All the seats had power outlets and there was also wifi inside the bus(and it was speedy enough to load netflix seamlessly). I didn't use the restroom in the bus, but they stopped in a couple of gas stations in between. It was definitely worth the 60 bucks and reached NY on time. I took the sky horse bus on the return trip to Cincinnati, that bus stinked, it literally did. The bus was delayed for more than 1 hour. No power outlets/wifi on that bus. Avoid that bus service. The ticket prices on their website is actually expensive. Forewarned...the lady who takes your tix when you board the bus in NYC has a very "new yorker" attitude. Overall this is a good OH/KY--NYC travel method. Overnight bus, cheaper than Greyhound, no stops in between except 1-2 bathroom breaks. Clean, power outlets, 2 drivers, always on time. However, They lose 2 stars bc nowhere on their website or tix tells u the following (and when u don't know, they give u attitude and act like u're supposed to know): 1. Regardless the different schedule they have on the website, there's always only one bus leaving NYC, which is at 9:30 (ppl at the office have told me 8:45 is the "check in" time) 2. ALWAYS print ur tix if u leave from ny, or else they will charge u a dollar at the office (no, u cannot show them on ur phone) 3. Make sure u "check in" at the office and get ur assigned seat # before u board the bus. Besides that, spring tour bus is good. It's quite packed on the weekends. Bring earplugs in case there are babies on board, ppl talking/watching things on their phone, or the person next to you snores. Oh, don't expect the wifi to always work or that it can load Netflix. read more

Last minute weekend trip to NYC from Columbus and while Greyhound does offer many more travel time options, the 13+ hours and transfers and layovers, never makes it an attractive option, esp for a quick weekend getaway. I chose Spring Tour after reading several comments on Yelp. The bus from Columbus (Origin is Cincinatti) starts from a beat up gas station near the Greyhound terminus downtown, not the best of locations, esp at that desolate hour (10.30 pm scheduled). The attached waiting area is a tiny room, with a tour coordinator/agent on his laptop and maybe 6-7 chairs. He checked our printouts/IDs, but no seats were assigned. Luckily there is a reasonably clean restroom as well. The bus was more than an hour late getting in from Cincinatti, so might be wise to call ahead and confirm time of departure. Contrary to the comments, there was a bit of a food stink. (I wish there was a ban on cooked deep fried foods to be consumed inside). Also the seats at the back of the bus (where the loo is located) did a bit of a pee odour ! LOL The bus was freezing, so even though it is summer..get a jacket ! Many of the passengers riding in from Cincinatti, kept their backpacks on the adjacent spare seats and are (or pretend to be) asleep, so you need to wake them up and stuff. Not a nice way to start the journey..but guess there is no option. Also the wifi and power outlets were not working, which was a bummer :( Once the bus moves though, it is chinese efficiency ! Cept for one pitstop at around the 4-5 hour midpoint around the Pittsburgh area for exactly 15 minutes and maybe one more for a driver change. It's a nonstop affair ! BUT the return trip yday from NYC to Columbus, was the complete opposite in experience !!! The bus felt cleaner..the wifi and power outlets were working fine and the ride just felt a lot better getting into Columbus. At the checkin counter, the checked your paper ticket and assigned a seat no as well. We left at 940 (for a 930pm schedule) and reached Columbus 15 mins earlier than scheduled !! My big gripe was that since I'm a little over 6 feet tall, the seat spacing was not exactly great. If you are tall, its better to get the window, there seems to be more space to put your feet about. The aisle was a bit uncomfy and you have to keep contorting. Again, the front seats are probably the best, so check in early ! read more

Took this bus one way from downtown cincy to Chinatown, across the street from the greyhound station/horseshoe casino. Not exactly a friendly area but is at least accessible. When the time came, it arrived as an unmarked bus where the driver spoke little English and barely looked at my ticket. And from there I entered on board. The bus looked clean, decent leg room, and had working outlets. The wifi was shoddy but it shouldn't be expected since this is a cheap option. They had plastic shopping bags for trash on the side of the seat. Overall the interior looked comparable to Greyhound's, decent enough for a comfortable ride. Aside from around 5 or 6 stops for gas/pickups around cincy/columbus. The drive was straight forward, around 12 hours. Comparing a usual Ohio to nyc trip. This option beats greyhound every time, spring tour's bus was on average $15 cheaper and around 6 hours shorter. As long as you're willing to deal with being picked up in an eery location, it's of the most value when travelling to NYC read more

I had a good experience both on the trip from NYC to Cincinnati and on the return trip. Both buses seemed clean and safe to me. Both ways I had my own row, so that was a huge plus. I was able to sleep 8 hours each way. I would suggest headphones to anybody on the bus because I guarantee if you don't bring them some jerk in the row behind you will be on his phone or listening to his music... Bus made it an hour early on the way out. Right on time on the return. read more

I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from using this bus service. Here is why: I took the bus from NY to OH at 8:45. I am currently writing this review using the wifi provided by Spring Tour Bus. When I arrived, I went inside to get my ticket (your eticket is not your ticket). The only reason I knew to do this is from previous reviews I had read. They give you your seat number (which didn't even matter). They said the bus was running a little late so I sat my stuff down. The place smelled horribly of cigarette smoke and weed. It was overly crowded and people were spilling outside and down the block. I decided to wait outside. I soon learned that the bus before mine still hadn't arrived and there was a line of people on the sidewalk. I stood as to not be in way for when their bus arrived. My bus ended up arriving before their's and mine was a little over an hour late. There was absolutely no announcement about which bus had arrived. People were blocking others from getting on the bus. The driver told some people it was the wrong bus when in fact it was the right bus. People were throwing luggage everywhere. It was pure mayhem. After asking the driver 3 different times, I finally figured out this was my bus. I boarded and we soon got on our way. One of the few good things about the bus was the leg room. That was about it. It was dirty, old, and was around 85 degrees. It may be a better experience from OH to NY but I do not recommend taking this bus from NY. IMG_1036.JPG read more

They only get 1 star for being fast drivers. My boyfriend lives in Dayton so I frequently use the Chinatown buses to Ohio from ny. As other reviewers said, there is nothing about checking in for assigned seats and they heard you in like cattle expecting you to know where to go, and put your bags without even an attempt to acknowledge you or speak English. They are by FAR the rudest out of the 3 companies. My girlfriend and I had the unfortunate luck of sitting in the seats right behind the driver, which apparently neither driver or their friends appreciated so they went out of their way to make us, the customers, feel unwelcomed. For the first 4 hours the lady behind us stuck her nasty, and I mean nasty, barefoot in my friend's face. I guess the guy sitting across from us who later switched to the driver saw our disgust because when he started driving he continually yelled at us in Chinese for everything, we had no idea what he was saying. At one point he said 'Fuck You' to us in the middle of his Chinese rants I swear. Eventually he said in English to 'shut it off' referring to my phone light which I was using to eat the food I had since we had stopped. Meanwhile, several other people were using lights including him before he started to drive. The bathroom didn't have toilet paper, which the driver didn't care about when told and of course the wifi didn't work. Also, while I was passed out I guess my foot moved beyond the glass or something because I woke up to him violently GRABBING my foot and shouting at me in Chinese. I'm not exaggerating, he was shouting. He turned on all the bus lights, waking up the entire bus and I still had no idea what he was saying. When we stopped in Columbus, he refused to go unless we moved seats but since he doesn't speak English it was him yelling at us in Chinese until another guy translated. But there were no other seats together so we refused to move. Then he made a second stop before Dayton SO HE COULD HELP PICK UP PACKAGES FOR HIS FAMILY and load them into a van. He tried to pretend it was a second stop in Columbus but when people got off they realized it wasn't a real stop and awkwardly got back on the bus. The combined another 9:30 bus with ours so it was over packed and a miserably uncomfortable ride. What a scam!! I cannot express how rude the drivers and surrounding friends were the entire trip. Be prepared for them to shout over you in Chinese as well, as they have no regard for customer service in slightest. Maybe they shouldn't run a business out of New York if they have no desire to respect our proper business edict. read more

This Shouldnt even get a star, this bus is horrible!!!! I actually chose this bus company compared to the others because it had the best reviews, but it was the worst mistake i ever made. I felt so unsafe, the whole bus smelled horribly, they don't speak English, they're sooooo incredibly rude, and they drop off packages in the middle of no where, it's some shady stuff. Greyhound is not much more expensive and the quality of service is much much better. Greyhound is not even great and its 5 stars compared to this bus company read more

Me and my wife were traveling from Columbus OH to NYC, round trip. I choose Spring Tour after reading comments on Yelp, saying that the other two (Bus2NYC and SkyHorse) were worse. I will only give my opinion in the following two lines, and then I will tell you the facts about my first trip with Spring Tour Company. OPINION: Awful service. You really get what you pay. I will NEVER buy tickets in these companies ever again. FACTS: Drivers speak (or they pretend) only Chinese, and you have no idea about their instructions nor you can do any questions, because the get mad and don't keep listen to you any longer. From Columbus to NYC they don't assign seat, and people actually push you back trying to get on the Bus. From NYC to Columbus, me and my wife were assigned to a joint seat in their office, but when we get to the bus the seats were taken and we could not seat together, and the person in charge of collecting the tickets didn't even care. The driver hit a car leaving New York and that car chased him and stopped him for like 30 min, fighting about it. The driver speaks (in chinese) on his Bluetooth headset cellphone the whole, yes the "entire" trip, shouting and not allowing any rest for the passengers. Last time I checked, one should not talk over his cellphone while driving since the concentration gets reduced, so if you are driving a service with customers... They change driver 3 times during the trip, but the way they did it, the previous driver left the engine on and alone and left somewhere, and the next driver arrived probably like 20 or 30 min later. In the meantime, we, the passengers that were awake have no idea what it will happen with our trip. The buses are pretty much on time, and they took 9 hours and 30 minutes to do Columbus-NYC, and viceversa. They are clean, but close to the lavatories the seats smell really bad. read more

I took this bus line from Cincinnati to NYC and returned on the same bus line a week later (I booked the tickets separately in case I hated the ride on the way up I'd have the option to try a different bus line). Overall, for the price, it was worth it. Departed on time and arrived on time, which when it boils down to it, is all that I *really* wanted. On the way up the bus was packed full - not a seat to spare. It wasn't terribly uncomfortable, taking into account that no matter what if you're stuck on a bus for 12 hours it's not going to be great. Be sure to print your ticket so you have a physical copy. I'd also recommend not trying to ride stand-by, as I saw several people without reservations get turned away. We made our first 15 minute stop not too far into the ride - 2 hours or so, and then another one at about 5AM. We arrived exactly on time, which was amazing considering the traffic getting in to NYC was stop-and-go for at least an hour. Bus driver seemed competent which was nice - many of the SkyHose reviews state that the bus drivers are wild and can make you fear for your life, which is a big reason why I chose to ride Spring Tour in the first place. The bus was also clean. However, the advertised WiFi did NOT work at all, though power outlets did. When you are coming NYC to Cincinnati, you need to check in at the office first and they will assign you a seat (different than the Cincinnati stop). You can't board the bus without having your physical copy of the ticket. The bus on the way back was slightly less crowded. However, the trip was pretty uncomfortable because the air conditioning did not work. Yikes. Was pretty hot and gross there for a while. Once again, the WiFi also did not work but the power outlets did. I only recall making one stop sometime around 5AM. The bathroom on the bus did not have toilet paper. Bus was not dirty and once again the driver seemed competent (although because I was sitting further to the front and we drove through quite a bit of rain I had a few moments where I wished we were going about 10MPH slower). We actually arrived 45 minutes EARLY to our destination, which was great. I will most likely be riding Spring Tours again next time I have to go to NYC. read more

A round trip bus ride to NYC from Lexington, KY for less than $100 is an amazing price! I paid $60 round trip. How can you beat a deal like that? Since the bus travels in the evening just prepare yourself to sleep and you will be fine. The bus is comfy enough to lean your seat back and put your head on a pillow and sleep basically the whole way. The main bus is in Cincinnati but will pick up in Columbus as well but pretty much is a straight shot. I have seen other people complain about many things but truthfully it's as easy as it gets. Bring your eticket, load your bags on the bus, find a seat, and that's it. They will tell you if they are having a 10 or 15 min break at the bus stop and that's pretty much it. You get there fairly quickly due to the minimal stops. Bathroom on bus is very minimum so use the bathrooms at the stops they take if needed. Other than that, I'm happy with the service and keeping the extra money in my wallet to spend on my trip in NYC. read more
