I've lived in Mt. Washington for 38 years, but my tenure here is ending, in large measure due to…read moreLunken Airport. I live about two miles from the airport and the incessant noise is intolerable. FIVE flight schools operate out of Lunken now, and people who are taking flying lessons mostly seem to be on the same practice loop. That means that the loud drone of airplanes is a constant feature of living here and it greatly diminishes quality of life. In looking for where I will move next, a high priority is to be as far away from airports as possible.

What a beautiful, historic airport! My family and I attended the festival over the weekend. Along…read morewith getting to see several antique planes up close, it was neat to walk on the runway and just take in this piece of history. My grandfather, who attended with us, told us how he would catch flights from Lunken when he was younger. Some other bits about Lunken's history, from its website: * Columbia, now the area occupied by Lunken Airport, became the first settlement in the Cincinnati area. * In 1927, Charles Lindbergh made his historic non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. He lands at Lunken airfield to and from New York to refuel where he is mobbed by well-wishers. * The Flamingo, one of the first all metal monoplanes built in America, is produced at Lunken by Metal Aircraft Company. * In 1930, formal dedication of Lunken Airport takes place. A three-day celebration includes notables such as Howard Hughes, Jimmy Doolittle, Freddie Lund, Cincinnati Air Corps Reserves and Jean Harlow. Lunken Airport is dedicated as the largest municipal airport in the world. * In the 1940s, American Airlines is born at Lunken Airport. * In 1964, The Beatles arrive at Lunken Airport for their concert at Crosley Field. I wish we had had a chance to go inside the airport when we were there. We'll have to do that another time.

For a wedding and my transportation fell apart tomorrow my hotel. I had to rent a car at the ladt minute and National was amazing. I looked at another car company whose employee was rude and kept telling me "I have other customers ", and I was the only person in line. I left his counter and went to National who took care of me with professional courtesy.

I called roadside assistance, who arranged for a tow and a replace vehicle. However, the store, where I was instructed to get the replacement, had not been informed that I was coming. Additionally, they did not have a truck, which I needed for my business trip. While I was provided a vehicle, I was unable to get to the job site on time for the first day of my trip. As I still needed a truck for the second day of my trip, I called back to roadside assistance to get another replacement closer to my second destination. They confirmed that a replacement wpuld be available. However, again, the next store had not been informed that I was coming. Luckily, they had a truck in the shop which was ready for pick up. Overall, better internal communication is needed to effectively work as a company and successfully service your customers.
