Open 7 days a week serving home style breakfast, lunch,dinner in a cozy small town atmosphere. Since they serve Genuine Broaster Chicken I had the 4 piece tender meal with fries. Comes with either a cup of soup or salad. The chicken noodle soup was very good.The chicken tenders were generous in size but lacked flavor. Thank goodness they came with your choice of dipping sauce. I wish the chicken would have had a rub on it to add more flavor. My wife had a breakfast dish which was very good but since she is gluten free she was unable to have the the toast or pancakes that came with it as they had no gluten free options . This was our favorite restaurant in town for both its food and service. Went twice -- once for dinner and again for breakfast. We particularly enjoyed the broasted chicken and hash browns. And I know it's something random to stand out, but I really liked the iced tea and 80s music. read more

GUYS WE'RE BACK AND WE ARE STARTING OFF WITH A B A N G Service was amazing and the vibe was great...different from our usual bar and grill but a nice change. This episode was special cuz the Burger Bunch didn't get burgers...BUT instead we got breakfast (amazing), chicken (delicious), and ONION RINGS (PHENOMENAL). Food was good fresh and very fast on Mother's Day . Loved the onion rings. 6 battered shrimp were very good. Patty melt was big, the rye bread was not a strong rye flavor, hard to tell it was rye. The Italian beef sandwich was very cheesy delicious came w/bowl of juice, I chose not to have peppers. Again loved the hand made onion rings, light crispy batter. Small town diner with a lot to offer. The serve breakfast all day, with a HUGE variety of options from omelettes, skillets, and of course they are famous for their cinnamon roll that they make into French toast which is MIND BLOWING. Spring Valley Restaurant is a nice addition to Oregon! Their menu is extensive with a few unusual items. They are famous for their cinnamon bread and offer cinnamon french toast with many of their breakfast meals. My daughter had it and said it was delicious. The portions were huge and well cooked. The waitresses were helpful and attentive, even though they were fairly busy. They serve breakfast all day, but made a point to share the specials with us as well. Typical family restaurant with a giant menu and crazy low prices. Friendly service. The three of us ordered a wrap, breakfast platter, and a burger. Breakfast was very good, but usually these types of places are superstars at breakfast. The wrap was pretty good. The burger wasn't that great. We also tried a shake and a malt, okay but it would have been better had they not added so much chocolate sauce into the mug before adding the shake/malt. Don't judge a book by its cover. This restaurant is a paradox. On the surface, it is just another small town diner. Mediocre salad bar, generic looking menu. Like a counterfeit Denny's. Stuff like hamburgers, eggs, or biscuits and gravy. BUT, when they bring the food to the table, holy crap! I don't know how they do it, but they take standard diner food and treat it with some kind of magic! There's a freaking wizard working the grill! Absolutely fantastic! Personal highlight is the house chicken (fried chicken). It's fried chicken, how the heck do they make it taste like that!? Nothing I have ever ordered has disappointed. Farmer's breakfast, what am I eating? Fish fry, did I just catch and filet this fish and forget that I did it? This is "flyover" American food at it's finest! If I was hosting a visiting tourist who wanted to try American food (is that possible?), I would force them to eat here! read more

Came back tonight for the fish. Absolutely superb walleye. Delicious homemade chips. Huge portions that are enough for at least two meals. I had a combo that included wonderful fried shrimp. Definitely worth a visit. Gracious friendly staff. We recommend highly. Oh and extremely reasonable prices. read more

We drive over an hour just to get here. I had the hot roast beef, which was melt in your mouth tender and swimming in delicious gravy. My husband had the walleye fish fry, but I'll let him review that. We're definitely happy members of the SVFR Clean Plate Club! read more

Used to be a regular, but then service plummeted. Some of the servers are extremely caring and chatty, while you can tell others are only there for a paycheck. Is it really necessary to be on your phone while customers are right in front of you? Place could use an upgrade - carpet in a restaurant is gross. Very outdated, but is aimed at an older crowd. Value, value, value! Stopped here on Mother's Day with a group of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids). The sheer amount of food one gets for the price is amazing. Dinner specials were $7.95 - this included a generous entrée (2 pork chops or a big chunk of lasagna), salad bar (nothing special - but nice to get a salad), bowl of soup, rice or garlic bread, and ice cream. Kids meals were $4.00 with drink and bowl of soup - adult-sized portions (hamburger or hot dog) with fries. The hot dog was 1/4 lb. - not an Oscar Meyer weenie. We all had leftovers with the exception of my 20-year-old nephew - who's known as "the bottomless pit" at college. I would have given 5 stars, but the lasagna wasn't all that terrific. It's a common frustration, as I make a pretty decent lasagna myself, so I'm easily disappointed. Everything else was great, and all the other dishes/entrees got enthusiastic approval from the family. dined here on sunday morning after a long night of drinking. each of us had something different and we all were pleased from a skillet, to a short stack, to the 2 x 4 (2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 french toast, 2 eggs). i ordered the 2 x 4 with whipped cream and strawberries and was not dissappointed! very nice meal - we just managed to beat the sunday church rush. the restaurant was very full and the service was good. i'd go back if i visit again. read more

Mediocre, cheap meals. Salad bar, but some of the pasta salads I question how old they are. Just an off taste. Went about a dozen times for Friday fish fry. Sometimes had it baked. Well if wifey is on register she will ask how food was. Don't tell her. It will ruin the rest of your day. They had actually placed the raw cod on the grill, which if u don't know, give the outside a bitter taste. I told her. Whew, she just wanted to argue. Another time beef tips so tough I took home to cook longer. Again she lashed out at me. Used to be good corned beef-now mostly fat. Has gone downhill.Their plastic glasses are all chipped. We stopped after a wrestling event on a Friday evening. The hours stated that they closed at 9pm and we arrived at 8:25pm. Before sitting down we checked to make sure they were okay with us coming in that late, but the hostess said that it was no problem. The problem was the waitress we received. She apparently was on her way out the door and we sat in her section. It was the absolutely worst service I have received in the many years I have been going to restaurants. They already took the salad bar down and the soups were gone as well so we could not get the all you can eat fish fry that included that. When my friend ordered coffee we had to get Decaf because she would not make a pot of regular coffee for us. She was extremely rude and rushing us to finish through the whole meal. Had it not been for the extremely rude and unfriendly waitress the visit would have been at least 4 stars because the food was very, very good. My husband and I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and I can take having a not so good waitress because we have hired them, but I surely can not excuse rude and impatient especially when we checked to see if we had enough time to eat there before they closed. Business is tough right now, I would suggest that the owner of this establishment have a nice chat with their waitstaff and let them know that every dollar counts right now and every dollar they earn is money in the waitresses pocket as well. read more
