    Goldleaf Dog Grooming

Carol is very consensus to this fact and I have never had any issues with the products she uses. I mention this because other places I have taken my pup to have resulted in bad ear infections or hives on the skin after the grooming. I am very happy that within the past year she now offers additional services. Such as dental cleaning. My dog is very difficult when it comes to allowing us to brush her teeth properly. Since she started getting the service at goldleaf her teeth always come back nice and white. They take great detail into removing the hair from the ear. Its a big deal for me since thats where yeast starts to develop and leads to ear infections. All dogs are caged individually as they wait for the owners to return. Its not a big place so make reservations in advance. I have tried countless groomers from New York and have been highly disappointed, Goldleaf has put all others to shame! In addition, you need not worry about your poor pup getting an appointment to only be forced to pick up 5 hours later [usually due to overbooking]. There is no reason for that!!! This is done in NYC a lot. Here your appointment time is exactly the time your dog goes in for grooming. Then 1.5-2 hrs later [depending on service you ask] he/she is ready for pickup with a pretty bow or bandana.

I've been having Carol take care of my Cockapoo for 8 years. Over the years, I have used a handful…read moreof other groomers (thru local Kennels and one groomer in Hawley) and they DO NOT compare to the work Carol does. She is simply the best and very responsive to voicemails. She's usually readily available, but I have had a handful of very last minute wants/needs where she wasn't available (hence the above mentioned fill-ins). Summertime is busy, so make your appointment in advance. Our handsome boy has always been clipped tastefully and left smelling fresh! I would HIGHLY recommend (Carol) Goldleaf Dog Grooming! A++

I have been looking for a dog groomer for my elderly dog. I…read morerecently relocated from Arizona and haven't been able to get a response from the few groomers I reached out to. I left a message which stated they would get back to me. Since I hadn't heard from them so I decided to call. The owner was very nice when I spoke to her. We set an appointment and I brought my dog in. I arrived a little early and was let in. Again - the greeting was very warm and friendly. They explained other add-ons. I agreed. The cost would be OVER $100.00. I have never paid that for any grooming in any state I have lived in but, I wanted to make this special for my dog. They mentioned that the grooming I wanted would take 4 hours. When I heard that I thought, "Okay, since it's going to take 4 hours - it's going to be great!" When I returned to pick up dog, he looked fine. He smelled great! But, as often is the case - haircuts need to settle. It was not what I had expected. It is pretty uneven in a many places. There was still some matting around his lips. His belly and privates weren't shaved as they should've been. The hair between his pads was mostly still there. I am a little bummed because I don't see where the $110.00 went. I am not sure if the young lady that groomed him had any professional training - but, that's on me for not asking. I'm guessing she started doing this and showed promise and so is continuing to pursue this as a career. She was truly lovely - but that's great customer service not actually hands-on grooming. My advice to you is simply list what you expect and take the time to check it before you leave. My advice to the owner is just be careful and double check what is done and make sure that there is a standard when it comes to the add-ons. I am leaving the 4-Stars because they truly were friendly and I hope they make the necessary adjustments. Would I recommend them? Of course because I felt safe leaving my dog in their hands, but, I am hoping they address the issues so they can thrive. I wish them success. Have a great day.

Starr Chumard from Lorenzo's Dog Training Team helped us with our previously deviant goldendoodle,…read moreChewbacca. He would spend hours at a time standing in our living room barking at us and had us at wits end. He would pick and choose when he wanted to listen and when he wanted to do his own thing, and he was so terrified/defensive of other dogs, we worried whenever we took him out where other dogs would be. Now, Chewbacca is a top-notch gentleman. Starr not only taught us and Chewy lots of new commands, more importantly she taught us how to handle him and how to take the lead. Chewy has not only completely transformed in listening to us, but he is also now substantially more comfortable around dogs he doesn't know - something we never believed would happen. What Start was able to teach us and Chewy was absolutely life changing for all of us - thank you Starr!

I had no idea just how much better they could be. Starr has brought us a much more relaxed home and for that I am eternally grateful. A couple ways our life has changed: Everytime I had my windows or doors open my boys would bark at the slightest noise whether it be a car, person, or their shadow. I am now able to sleep with my windows open for the first time in 6 years. My neighbors can be outside and I can have my doors open and my boys no longer bark incessantly. I can now sit on my porch with my boys and enjoy my neighborhood and evenings without my boys going crazy and trying to run all over. My boy Cache used to act like a mongrel walking on a leash. We were unable to take him anywhere. He's literally torn pads on his feet trying to get into the vets office from pulling so hard. Since the training, I am able to walk Cache into the vet, get a weight on him by myself, and Cache will actually lay down and wait to be seen. We used to have to wait in the car and carry him in. We recently brought the boys out for icecream and multiple people have commented on just how well behaved they are. A couple months ago we would have never heard that! In January my boys had a difference of opinion about the ownership of a bone and my boy Damian had bit my Cache. Cache understandably had some trust issues. I felt as though I was walking on eggshells thinking they were going to have continual issues. Starr's training has brought my boys back together and have strengthened their bond with not only me and my husband but also with each other. They are starting to play and cuddle with each other again. "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."- Edward Everett Hale Starr's training works! My whole house is much calmer and I have a renewed confidence in my boys and also myself. I feel much more in control. Training was hard work and dedication but my boys are worth it! Thanks to Starr's training my heart is full of happiness with all of the success we have achieved and no words can truly express just how grateful I am...
