Springbrook came to our house Saturday 10/21/23 to power wash our house. At approximately 11:30am our power went out. The Springbrook employees immediately rang our bell to tell us that they had hit the power box to our generator with the power washer. I went out to the panel, there was white/grey smoke coming from it and there was a burning smell coming from the box and inside the house coming up from the basement. They apologized profusely, they called the owner, Jason Bowley who they said directed them to return our payment as we had paid by check upon their arrival. We were without power from Saturday morning until Tuesday 10/24/23. We have reached out to the owner, he has since ignored all and any requests for his insurance information. He is also claiming that our generator box was not water tight, therefore denying responsibility. We called an electrician, they came out late Saturday afternoon, they showed us the burned switch and water inside the box after Springbrook left. They notified us that this could have resulted in a fire. Our generator is 4 years old, well maintained, and in pristine condition. We have never had any issues with water in this panel. The generator runs a maintenance cycle every month with no issues. Over the weekend our generator shut off, the electrician said that there is probably more damage to our generator due to the water and subsequent explosion, as well as the electrical current. They won't know how extensive it is until the switch is replaced. We were without electricity, heat, and water for 3 days. Because our generator is also damaged it ran sporadically during this time. My husband corrected the number 401-205-8993, all you have are excuses, he resent the text, still no reply. To your comment below, I am glad that you admit that it is dangerous and that someone could have died, I'm sure that admission will bolster my case. Our generator panel is water tight, as my electrician confirmed. It is not however power washer tight and you know that, stop playing games and trying to deflect the blame. You are still shirking responsibility even though your employees admitted fault, apologized, and returned our payment. As we told you we have video of them hitting the box straight on with the water and it exploding. I filed a complaint with the contractors board and you'll be hearing from my lawyer. You should be ashamed to conduct business this way. Extensive damage done to our generator, absolutely no responsibility taken! When it comes to service businesses...the only true quality that sets apart the good ones from the rest is Customer Service. I can say that Springbrook was neither the "cheapest" or the "quickest" but I knew from experience, that they do quality work as I had used theme once a few years back on a small house I was living in at the time. I was not involved with setting up the appt. last time so I had no first-hand interactions with them but I did this time. This time, I have a much bigger home with much greater needs. The company came out at a time I wasn't home (pre-approved by me) to get me an estimate. They came back the next day with an estimate that was just a bit higher than I was expecting, but not out of line at all. I knew that they do quality work - so I accepted the quote. I was then a bit bummed to find out it would take up to 3 weeks to finish the job - it had to be done in 2 phases as I was having the roof treated as well. When the job started, they did the roof first and it was the owner, Jason, clearly fitting me in at the end of a hard workday (it was late in the day and it clearly appeared that Jason had put in an honest days work already!), himself doing the job. And what an incredible job he did. I have to admit, I was not very educated as to how "soft" power washing works. Just seemed like an oxymoron to me...or maybe I was the "moron" but I thought they would be just blasting the stuff off the roof. Well, it's not at all like that. They treat the shingles with a solution that breaks down the moss and stuff that adheres to the shingle. Otherwise, Jason told me - if they did use high pressure, it would rip the shingles right off. I have my own pressure washer but I'm sure glad I called Jason instead of doing it myself!! About 10 days later, a couple of company guys came by to do the house. They were extremely professional. Upon my final "inspection" before signing off on the work, I noticed that there was 1 little spot that the guys missed way high up on the top of a 2nd-floor window. I pointed it out and they actually apologized to me, immediately got the ladder from the truck, set it back up climbed right up and knocked out that spot without any fuss whatsoever. They made me feel comfortable and in charge of the situation which is wonderful to feel in a situation like that. At the end of the day...I honestly can't believe what a difference it made. Granted...last September, I purchased a cedar-wood sided home that was built in the late '80s and had clearly never been maintained properly All the wood was dingey, dirty and drab and the roof had moss on it and was just filthy. When I drove up the road and could see the house for the first time after they had finished the entire house and I had to do a double-take. I couldn't believe it was my house. Under all that crud was a really nice looking cedar-plank-sided home (now I HAVE TO paint the trim though!) I can't say enough about Jason and the crew over at Springbrook Power Washing! I put a bid out to 3 different companies in the area to get my house + deck power washed, and got an immediate response from Jason via email and a follow up call the next day to make sure I received his quote. He had already looked at the house online and gave me a quote with 2 available times he could come the following week. I recently used Springbrook's power washing services and I have to say the experience was awesome! My technician, Jason, was polite and professional and responded to my inquiry via email and phone the same day. This was nice because I had a pool are and a patio set I needed cleaned and he was very knowledgable/helpful on the subject. They did a sample test on a small area of cedar shingles on our 20 year old house first and I was very impressed and excited about the results (which they said would improve even more, after a week). I was recommended to Spring Brooke from my landscaper who knew that I was looking for someone to fix the botch job that someone left me with at the end of last Summer. I called several other local companies and they were all jack of all trades type businesses. I was afraid to use them because not one of them just focused on powerwashing. The last guy I hired who came from Providence used a power spray that was too harsh and my family and I had to take every window screen out because wood pulp had been splattered all over. He missed large areas and the job came out extremely uneven. Jason provided me with a quote that I thought was fair and arrived on the day when he said he would. This company only power washes but it is worth it to have someone who is dedicated at doing their specialized service rather than someone who does a little bit of this and that and never perfects any one job.
