We were here during the spring "extravaganza" and were blown away by how many vendors were there. Hundreds! Billed as thousands but it was so giant we didn't have time to see everything, so who knows! We had a great time marveling at the wide variety of stuff. This was our first visit, so mostly it was a reconnaissance mission: see what they have and how it's organized. It's $10 per person (not per car) to get in. Parking on dirt/grass. Sellers outside and inside. Furniture, garden elements, tools, clothes, dishes, garage signs - you name it! Mostly "vintage" but some that might qualify as "antique". Lots that qualify as "used". Some things seemed priced on the higher end, but if you are looking for super deals I guess stick to yard sales. But here, you don't have to drive all over the county - - it's all in one place. We enjoyed and will come back next time, maybe for the non-extravaganza version - and maybe bring a little wagon or cart for our purchases, like the pros did! read more

Starting with the negative because it's buyer/vendor; beware!!! The antique show's operators Jenkins + Co, charge $10 per person to enter. (Not $10 per car) The event's layout is excellent, with many shade areas because of the mature trees, diverse selection, and vendors; however, we didn't see any local vendors or independent local sellers. Vendors all seem like traveling ones. Vendors also don't seem to be in the sprint of wheeling and Dealing (guessing they have outrageous vendor fees) Fair food options- save your belly and wallet and go into Springfield and enjoy some local food. Springfield also is not lacking in large antique shopping establishments. Save that $10 per person and spend it at a local shop. read more

Primarily country kind of antiques, and not all that many vendors, so not really worth traveling very far, but if you are in the neighborhood stop in, its $3 bucks to get in. About half of the people at the flea market were not wearing masks and that includes the vendors, also plenty of those people who think they are being clever by wearing their masks around their necks and this was INSIDE the buildings. Probably not worth coming back anytime soon. read more

A friend and I went to the Springfield antique extravaganza in august hoping to find some unique gems. It was $10 admission and had lots of parking available, which was really nice. But, to our disappointment, as we entered, the "antique" items were similar to usual garage sale items but priced five times more than they should have been. Booth after booth, it was just more disappointment, until we got to the middle of the event where booths were more modern and more useful to the younger shoppers. There were about 20 booths like this. But, the rest was just over priced junk. We were there on a sunday right when they opened. By 11:00 many vendors were packing up because they were not selling anything. I don't think we will be back. It was really disappointing. read more

By far, this was the Largest Antique / Yard Sale I've ever attended This past Thursday morning, while relaxing and enjoying our coffee, my wife had seen this "Extravaganza" was coming this past weekend. Well, in less than 3 hours, we were "spontaneously" on the road heading for the Antique Extravaganza. In that time, I had also booked reservations at 2 hotels for 3 nights. Along the way we "spontaneously" also took in a few other tourist attractions. Well, first thing Saturday morning, we arrived at the Antique Extravaganza expecting to find some good bargains, which we did. However, what blew us away was the sheer huge number of vendors - I had read that there were over 2,000 vendors in attendance - and we didn't have time to see all of them. This was a well-planned operation, one which I am glad we were able to attend. They do these "Extravaganza"s in the Fall and the Spring. There were so many booths that went on and on. Every kind of antique, collectible and even handmade crafts were too be found. Also found in attendance were a huge number of shoppers, collectors and even other dealers. It seemed everywhere I looked people were pulling carts, wagons, and other means of transporting their newly purchased treasures back to their car. Oh, this was also a dog (pet) friendly event, since it was outside - and we encountered a large number of dogs, most happy, but some were tired from so much walking and their feet were likely hot from the asphalt. What about us? We enjoyed the "thrill of the hunt", however, all of the "treasures" my wife found could fit in her purse. On the whole, it was quite a treat to say we have been. For those who have never been and you're an antique hound, go. It's definitely something you should go to once or twice, especially the extravaganza's where there are a ton of dealers inside and out. However, this past extravaganza was our last. They jacked up the price of admission and it felt like the vendors dealt in more "junk" than previous years. The vintage marketplace is always nice but the diversity of vendors seems to have suffered and I know that's not the fault of the fairgrounds but I'm not making an hour drive, paying a heftier admission to see the same ol' stuff. So I wouldn't steer newbies away from it but yeah, for some of us who have been to multiples, it fell flat this year. read more

Used to be better. We used to go every month, especially the extravaganzas, but we only went 4 times last year. A lot of vendors don't do antiques anymore, they buy discarded pallets of general merch from Amazon and resell the unwanted stuff at Springfield. Lots of stuff no one wants and "upcycled" stuff (auction leftovers decorated with bright pink chalk paint and stencils). When I started traveling in '98, the world of antiques was opened up to me. The kinds of antiques found in places like this are simply missing from life on the West Coast. This joint in particular hosts a very impressive array of items and the folks who work here are knowledgable as well as accommodating. Located just off the freeway. Wish it were like it used to be. There is more and more flea market stuff, they charge a lot to get in. If you shop early you could pay as much as 50 dollars. There are bleachers there but many are out away in a field when they could be used for people with tired feet. So, they used to keep them up by the food vendors but the last two times those seats were not there. When I camped I paid as much as the big rigs that are 45 feet long and every possible convenience that you can put in one, wide screen TV's, etc, etc. My camper has no bathroom and is pretty primitive. I don't think it is fair to charge me the same amount when I don't even hook up to water and only use a little electric to run a radio and a light. When I tried to use the showers there is NO hot water so be prepared if you primitive camp. I think they will need to drop the antique show name soon.. There are a lot of reproductions, yard sale crap, imports, plants and crafty stuff, so called vintage. You have to hunt to find the real antiques. Bummer. I have been going for decades and have seen it deteriorate. I recommend more places to rest and a trolley to move people around, but I think the people that run the show are only interested in how much money it takes in, so they don't want to make the show more enjoyable. They will probably start charging just to park soon. Just milk it for all it's worth. read more

I went to my first extravaganza today and it was very nice. However I have two things that erked me. The first was the cost to get in, at $10 per person I felt that was very high. I personally feel that $10 per car would have been enough. Second, while eating outside there should be benches or tables to sit down and rest or to eat. There is a lot of area to cover and as a senior citizen we get tired. I couldn't make it inside because I got completely worn out. Overall it's a good time and I hope to go back next year. read more

They don't nickname it "EXTRAVAGANZA" for nothing. If you watch HGTV, you have probably seen this flea market on various programs. It's the best one I have ever been to. Something for everyone! It takes place at two month intervals. read more

This is totally the wrong name for this market - they need to drop the word Antique and just keep Flea Market. I could count the real antiques that were there - on two hands. So if you want to pay $15 a person to go to a huge garage sale - then this is the place for you. Plus there is no signage on the parking lots....you have to guess where you parked !! read more

If you love antiques, you need to check out this show. It's about 90 minutes from Cincy and features some of the area's best dealers. Getting in can be a hassle - looooong parking lines - but it's orderly and ultimately worth it. Good food vendors, too; try the ice cream. read more

I have been going to this event for years. Early bird entry on Friday is up to 15 bucks per person and many vendors aren't even open when the show opens. Can't let vendors decide when to open when people get up early and drive so far. Used to be some great finds for old advertising, collectibles and good guy stuff. More HG TV kind of stuff these days. Some of the stuff isn't even old. Today I saw tube socks, a variety of close out store type items (shampoos and lotions), ferns and flowers, dried holly and spent hydrangea flowers that I throw in the trash at my house. Lots of new galvanized metal containers of all kinds for some kind of decorating. Saw many newly hand painted signs on wood that say stuff like," I love my dog" and other inspirational sayings for $35 bucks. Many junk dishes, new flea market items and box lot stuff from the end of an estate auction. Good show if you like that kind of thing. Although I saw some ridiculously priced items I liked, it is not the cool bargain finding antique show it once was. It may be evolving into something different and bigger as it is packed with women with full carts buying these types of items. Which is great for the vendors. Women with a flair for decorating their house with this kind of stuff will love this show. After years of attending, I probably won't be back. read more
