The Courtyard Evansville East does a great job at meeting that for its location. The hotel is located approximately 5 miles from downtown Evansville - about a 10 minute drive without any major delays. It's located a bit off the freeway next to a few other hotels so it's pretty quiet. Parking is free and relatively plentiful (as long as they're not hosting a pyramid scheme sales pitch - which has happened twice over the last few weeks). The lobby is comfortable and fairly modern, with a small pantry area, a cafe/bar, and plenty of seating and tables. There's also a fire pit outside. Laundry room and gym round out the key amenities that I saw (as well as a pool). Front desk staff is usually courteous and efficient. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. Size is decent as well, enough for 2 people but probably not much more than that. Lighting is a bit dark, but that's the nature of the hotel. Bath amenities is basic, and they don't have an option to decline housekeeping for points which is a huge pain. Also, no bottled water in the room makes me sad - but there is a fridge, coffee, and tea.

I waited about 25 minutes for them to get the tour bus checked in before they got to me, but they were extremely nice and accommodating. They took us to our room, we went down and left before our room keys were done, but when we arrived back at the hotel after a few hours they had our room keys at the desk waiting for us. I can appreciate their commitment to treating us nicely and getting us to rooms even when their system was down. I have been to plenty of other hotels where they made us wait in a lobby for hours instead of getting us to a room before. The room was clean, meals were great, and all staff was very nice and accommodating to us on the trip. I would 100% stay here again.

We ended up across the street at the La Quinta which is wonderful. It's 12:30 am and we have to be up early to play tomorrow, safe to say I will never be seen at a Baymont hotel again.
