The main bathhouse was nice, the camp store is very well-stocked, and the snack bar area is super convenient. You also have the option to buy tickets directly for their onsite waterpark, and our pups really enjoyed the dedicated dog park. The biggest perk is definitely the location. Being so close to Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is unbeatable. As far as value goes, the pricing is good if you manage to book during a Black Friday promo. Otherwise, the extra fees really start to stack up. The mandatory resort fee covers Wi-Fi, select activities, and facility access, but on top of that, you are hit with Indiana sales tax on the rent, plus they tax the golf cart rental rate too. Most frustrating of all is the absurd "site lock fee"--if you don't pay extra just to lock it in, your site number is subject to change prior to arrival. A few tips and areas for improvement: * The Shuttle Service & Safety: While the free shuttle to Holiday World is great, during peak times (like a Saturday in July) it is extremely slow. The limited buses get incredibly overcrowded. Small children should really sit on an adult's lap rather than taking up a full seat so more people can fit. More importantly, the buses need to be checked regularly for maintenance, especially low tires. We witnessed one overly crowded shuttle where the tire was almost completely flat--it was so bad that my family and many other guests all noticed and felt it was a major safety hazard. With as much money as this campground charges, they really need to invest in more buses or even open-air trams to handle the crowds safely. * Golf Carts: Make sure to book a golf cart in advance (while making your reservation if available). If you wait until your stay, you likely won't be able to get one--and you will want one because of how hilly it gets once you pass the check-in point. That said, the rental carts themselves could use better maintenance, and the strict rule of only 1 cart per site feels outdated; larger families really need two. * RV Spots & Noise: Some of the RV spots are a pretty tight fit and can be quite unlevel, so bring leveling blocks and patience. We have never had a problem with noise here, but I always make sure to choose a pull-through lot off the main roads to stay away from the heaviest traffic. Given how much the costs have gone up with all the extra fees, combined with the frustrating peak-season shuttle issues, the cons are starting to outweigh the pros for us. Because of this, we are honestly on the fence about continuing our annual trip here. It's a fun place, but management needs to address these logistics if they expect families to keep paying premium prices.

French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. French Lick is one of those rare places where the destination and the hotel are equally memorable. We left already talking about coming back during another season just to experience it all again. Sultans run is one of the coolest courses I've ever seen and everyone at that course was super friendly and made for a great experience. Even when we were running couple minutes behind, the starter gave us great vibes. It's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes to go there rather than Donald Ross. Second, Phil at the links course was outstanding and was someone who wanted to make sure our experience was great. Curious to see what the course will look like once the renovations end. The disappointments start with the lackluster effort. Besides Phil, nobody seemed to want to make our experience stand out. Just the smallest thing would've been appreciated and I even asked if anything extra could do for the bachelor and I was met with nothing. The person who I talked to (will refrain from naming him) did great at helping me plan everything but failed to mention that when you get a group package that it's not really at a discount rate. I'm not kidding you there is literally no discount so it's basically false advertising saying you get a group rate. I was basically being told I needed to do a group package (now I know it was just to make things easier for him and didn't benefit us at all) One late add on even found his room cheaper online than for what we got. If I hadn't done my research, multiple people would have paid double their price because they were unable to play the most expensive course yet would've been charged as if they had played. This brings me to the second part where Pete dye course is very cool but the price you pay plus caddy fee and tip is outrageous. There is no reason anyone should be paying over $500 for a round for that course in middle of nowhere. Instead they are giving u a crappy whiskey and some glasses in a nice box to try and put a bow on being way overpriced. It's a great course but it is ridiculously over priced. Lastly the food within the resort is very ok and also overpriced. If you go across the street you get way better food at the steakhouse and the sports bar and a better environment. Nothing special about the Casino either. It's pretty small and has a small bar too

I genuinely don't know where the nerve to call this place a resort comes from so i won't be including that descriptor.. I've stayed in red roof ins. Hotel motels, but Santas Lodge is easily the worst room I've seen for what you're paying. I will be going far far away from this place and recommend any person to do the same. these people do not care about the property, let alone your business or comfort. Is it close to Holiday world? Yes, that's probably the nicest thing I can say about it. But so are the Cottages and those at least have clean rooms. Lesson, Do not trust any review without photos. West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

Activities are easy to book over the phone ahead of the stay and easy to do at the front desk or calling from your room. Very excited about the new bowling alley building they are almost finished with next to the hotel. The stables area is very picturesque with a large covered 'patio'. Patio seems too small a word. More like covered event space. Wedding perfect. Room was clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Killed my back and my husband's. We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

We rented a cabin for a family Christmas only to find cockroaches all over the cabin. They moved us to 2 other cabins after our discovery, and those BOTH were infested with cockroaches as well. This place needs condemned by the health department. Just because they're not located in the City doesn't mean they don't need to keep things clean. Ridiculous.

Being a people with disabilities, after having had a long day, with bags in hand, it was rough. When we got to the check-in counter, the woman changed the room we were in. We paid the extra fees to be in a room that had either a view of the city or the river view. We ended up with a room that had the maintenance road & rooftop machinery right outside our window. The shower door wouldn't open and we had to use the shower gel to lube the bottom of the door to open and close it. The water knobs were crusted to the point that they wouldn't turn. We had to fight with them for several minutes before finally working. The shower leaked badly and when I finally tried to get out, I had to relube the floor to open the door again. I was told upon check-in that we would receive $50 free play and upon reaching the game floor and asking, I was told that it was a promotion for members who stayed and we would have had to be members prior to booking. The absolute most ridiculous thing we experienced was the location of the hotel check-in counter. After the long walk from the garage to the check-in counter, we were informed that the actual hotel was on the opposite side of the property! So basically, we would have to go back the way we came, walk all the way through the casino and then we'd find the hotel entrance. The other option was to go back to the garage and drive to the hotel entrance. But when you looked at the parking on that side of the building, it was creepy and there wasn't parking near the entrance. We weren't prepared to put our new vehicle in a lot that was dark and basically open. So we had to lug our bags clear across the whole property. The hotel area actually had an unused check-in area. It was actually really nice. The reason we were given that they didn't use it... COVID. Ya. It's 2026 and Bally's is still using COVID as an excuse for customer discomfort and their convenience. So they get money savings and convenience at the expense of people who thought that they would experience what Bally's advertises. I would NEVER recommend Bally's and we will never stay at another. It was shameful.

The couch smelled like rotten trash in our room, fridge was in the floor again and turned on and off with the light switch?!?!? Other than that, the bed was comfortable. Tv is rather small. Rooms are outdated. Air conditioning is fabulous! It would also help if you had an actual non smoking room in the casino. She smell of smoke in the casino was over powering for a non smoker. Even the lobby of the hotel smelled strongly of smoke odor. And the carpets in the hallway ....... Yuck! From the casino to the hotel the carpets are very worn and dirty. I know it's an older hotel, but a carpet cleaner and air purifier system would go a long way. That with employees who actually are happy at work. They work in hospitality, so smiling and greeting any guest should be a mandatory gesture . Also keeping homeless people from sleeping on the benches inside the hotel between the lobby and the casino would be a positive change. We encountered a person like this that was half sleeping and talking to himself and twitching on the bench in the lobby hallway. I would never ever feel safe bringing a child here. If they are under 21, that's a no go!! My husband and I were disappointed to say the least, and will never stay here again.

They had oatmeal with lots of topping options, silk milk/regular milk, 4 different juices, 9 different coffee choices, eggs, bacon pancakes and do yourself waffle maker. The potatoes needed to be more krispy in my opinion but they were well seasoned.They even had fresh fruit topping available and peanut butter!!! Highly recommended!!

I called and asked if I could get another blanket, as there were none in the closet and was told "only if you come and get it" Which was beyond rude But okay Fair You're by yourself Then the school bus of kids came with kids running around the halls beating on doors I called 4 times before anything was done. Then some sort of reunion started in the lobby (all after "quiet time" 10 pm with loud men laughing and carrying on. It wouldn't be a problem if they moved to a room or a conference room Went to the desk, since I got no answer on the 5th phone call in 2 hours And she never came to the front. And we weren't asked how our stay was when we checks out. I hope they are able to work on staff in the future.
