He obviously looked into my profile, but didn't look at all the reviews I have given. He told me I should consider giving better reviews for businesses I have interacted with. Well, Mike, I looked at the low reviews you have received, and there is clearly a trend in "had an appointment, was still there for X hours with no communication". After each one, the service manager or Mike responded with "thanks for the feedback, we'll make sure to do better in the future." Clearly, you haven't learned. And to switch the incident around to "Ian leaves bad reviews" is so passive-aggressive I'm not surprised that your employees have no notion of customer satisfaction. He said they had been having technical issues with the video of the inspection, and he didn't know why I wasn't given the evidence of the findings. Maybe it was because they were going to charge me $28 for a cabin filter replacement, even though it had clearly not been inspected - the contents of my glove box were exactly as I left them, and the catch to open the filter compartment is impossible to open. Note that at no point did I ask for a refund - I had written off the ~$150 as a "lesson learned" never to do business with this dealership again. Further Edit (2). Mike's response below claimed he was on the call. He did not announce himself. When the service manager called me, he said he was just returning my missed call/voice mail and was not aware of the reason for my call. Why would a senior manager be (stealthily) on a call if they didn't know I was calling with a complaint? Edit 1. The Service Manager called me and, after discussing the case, said that if I came back in, they would do a more thorough inspection as long as I deleted this review. When I asked if I had heard him correctly, he denied saying it and said he would send me a refund for the inspection. Original review: I had an appointment time at 11am. When I made the call I specifically asked for a detailed inspection of the used Camry I had recently bought. I was told they did a 160 point inspection for $180. I was asked if it was OK that the report was emailed to me rather than hard copy. The person making my booking said that at the mileage I had (125k), they would need to check spark plugs and other 100-125k maintenance items because they couldn't see a maintenance record (previous owner was a mechanic and did his own servicing). I arrived at 10:50 and was told it would take 90 minutes. After almost 3 hours of waiting, I texted the associate, and he came to tell me that he had waited on a senior tech and that he had only just started the inspection. When I mentioned the 11 am appointment time, he said that was just for check-in, not the inspection. If I had been told this at the time, I could have made alternate arrangements. When I finally got the hard copy report (he said he couldn't email it to me) it was only 30 items ($150), not 160, and basic things like the battery test results and the details of axle boot repair were missing. I asked if there were pictures to support the findings and he said no. While I was checking in he took a call from another customer and I clearly heard him say that he had reviewed the video of the service and was able to confirm the findings. This appears to be standard operating procedure, but I was not allowed to see it. As part of my process I uploaded the report to Chat GPT which highlighted the missing items on the report, including the lack of inspection of the spark plugs which I had been promised on the initial call. When I told Daniel I had run it through AI and had some concerns, he walked away and muttered "we don't use AI here". Maybe you should start and achieve better quality inspection results and give your people some customer service training. Well, strike 2 on the parts department. Changing oil on the fleet this weekend, checked on line for parts prices as would prefer OEM over after market. Looked online for part numbers and prices. WOW filter for the truck is less than 5 bucks. I can get both the Toyota and Lexus filter here, as well as the oil priced fair. Didn't complete online purchase as I will just stop by and get them while I am on that side of town, no need for delivery. Dude behind the counter let me know that price is online only, OK so, I will just complete online purchase and be done. No not possible, on Saturday online purchase won't be completed in the system, gotta wait until Monday. Really? What kind of bullshit is this? I gotta wait 2 days for the online price discount to save a whopping 2.05? No problem, I will just go get a filter somewhere, anywhere else. FYI I spent 15 bucks at auto parts store. This online price point to drive business to the door just blew up in their face, as you can tell I will spend 3 times the money to do business elsewhere. I suppose customer service has left the building COMPLETELY. I would hate to think I lost a customer over 2 bucks because I am sure they spend more than that on advertising to get a shot at selling a truck, but what do I know? I would have given the damn filter to a customer to "earn" the opportunity to sell a vehicle, but I am in sales and make my living in commission and I didn't mention my upcoming purchase potential because that's not how I do things. I am not trying to get anything for free, just the advertised price every Toyota dealer in the state post. I am certain these clowns will see me as the problem since I keep trying to do business with them and they just don't want my money. Ya'll do realize that I buy cars for these parts right? The truck has 98k on the clock and will get traded before it rolls 100 'cause that's where I take the next depreciation hit. Oh so that's why I wanted a OEM filter, looks better to trade with that in place I expect. Side note, my dealer I purchased this from has changed hands and my contact there is now gone, so I am seeking a new dealership to call home for Toyota purposes. Guess who it won't be? Sat there for my usual 2 hours only for them to tell me the battery was good. He recommended that I returned to have my alternator checked. I can't believe Mr Blunt did this to me! I had an appointment for oil change and after over 1 1/2 hours they had not even started, the promised time limit for completion. It wouldn't have been a problem but I had a dr appointment and needed for them to complete the work in the time they said 1-1.5 hours. This was well communicated prior to appointment so i knew if I needed to cancel and reschedule. They assured me with lies. I was greeted immediately in the service bay when I pulled up for scheduled maintenance this week. The guy was very nice and polite. I went to look for my service advisor and another rep showed up. As she was talking to me, my service rep showed up, made some kind of excuse of not being present. No big deal. He never greeted me, didn't look up at me until I asked where the restroom was (my first time here). He looked at me like I had just landed from Mars and pointed in the direction of the restroom rather than speak. Maybe he was having a bad day. I don't know. Other than him, it was a great visit. Fantastic waiting rooms (including one waiting area that is quiet if you need to do work.), coffee, doughnuts, and courtesy vehicle to take you wherever you needed to go. My vehicle had the maintenance performed in about 40 minutes...simply amazing. I was expecting much, much longer. I bought my vehicle here and will continue to always do business here rather than the Toyota dealer in west Mobile. I just came in to get a seat belt replaced on the driver's side. I paid about $290. Nobody likes paying for car repairs, but they need to be done. My Toyota is 12 years old, so I was kind of embarrassed to bring it in, but no one made a big deal about it. I brought it here because I knew the repair would be done right so I would not hear that annoying seat belt warning sound anymore. I was also having a hard time getting my car started, they had the same problem, they called me and told me it was just the battery. They offered to replace it for me, but I opted out because I got a battery from Toyota dealership in California before, and that battery did not last a year. But they saved me a lot of trouble telling me that the battery was bad, I thought it was the alternator. I would bring my car back in the future for another repair. I stated that this was not posted on the website and asked to speak to the manager. The Service Manager Mr. Walter Hammock introduced himself and after I explained that I traveled here from Florida he explained that they always take walk-Ins. Both times I declined the tire rotation because I do it myself and both times they have "accidentally" charged me for it and had to refund the charges. I did a little research and everyone there gets paid on commission even for maintenance work. I brought both receipts showing refunds for "accidental" charges to the attention of the dealership manager and he did not seem to care. I can to Springhill toyota to have a battery changed on my daughter's Prius. I went there because the price on the battery and labor were less than the competition. When I arrived, I was 10 min late for my appointment and I apologized to the gentleman that greeted us. His comment was that he would have to deduct points for that. Not sure what he meant, but I should have left then. My husband and I then were escorted into the lobby where Jeff took over. He asked what we were there for and had me sign a blank work order. We stated we were waiting and sat down in the lobby. I went to the restroom and when I came out Jeff was talking to my husband and asking questions as to why we needed a battery? I told him we had to have the car jumped and the oil change place had stated it needed to be replace. He said we were not in the system so he went through the glove box to look for our registration and found an oil change receipt, was that the correct address? WHAT ARE YOU DOING SNOOPING IN MY CAR!! We were in the lobby you could ask me. Then when we got the bill, I was charged more for labor than they had told me on the phone, and had a $16.24 shop supplies charge. I don't know where the sense of superiority comes from, but it's certainly unjustified. The car buying experience was typical (don't worry guys, it's as bad as all the rest), but the maintenance department is so reticent with information. I asked a gentleman working what they did on my 2nd service schedule (because no one bothered to tell me-I really just wanted the maintenance light to turn off, and it is still free so I figured what the heck) for my new car, and he just stared at me for a moment before answering (he was playing on his phone-I hated to take him away). He condescended for a second, and I went on my way none the wiser. Some of the salesmen used to come in my restaurant (I won't say where), and they were always rude and snobbish. The way people treat those in the service industry says a lot about a person's character. Talking with them outside the dealership, one gets the impression that they realize how they take advantage of car buyers-as if it's a joke, because it is. If you don't know how to fix cars, they can tell you just about anything, and often we're forced to take their word for it. However, I won't be taking Springhill's word for it. read more

So many things wrong with this place, I now see what others are saying. This is a detailed writing to include all of my experience here and how many issues there are in operation here. First off, I took my 2010 camry se in for an oil change and oil control valve replacement, I had already went to auto zone for diagnostic and the error was oil control valve, camshaft position over retarded intake, bank 1. I said this to these so called service advisor and he only wrote oil control valve on the work order. So, it goes to the back to the mechanic and he sees oil control valve, sees 2 spots for them (intake/exhaust) and just guesses what to do here, thats right he just tossed one in and just so happens he put it in exhaust side,the wrong side. The advisor then tells me I also need the vvt gear, he said the mechanic said vvt gear needs replacing. So, I get my car. It has no sticker for oil change which after 4 trips there now they still can't get that right and checklist was all green when I have check engine lights and traction lights, clearly they simply print this from auto fill. I was so aggravated with the small stuff I decided to take it to palmers, I said go ahead and run a diagnostic I dont trust the people I just left and of course they tell me , they replaced the wrong oil control valve sir. Both codes are for intake side. So, I take it back, then its like this political game they have with the advisors and department head to blow smoke in your face and put out fires, they actually start telling me that my car is different than most, false ball face lie, dept head hammock says he calls toyota because its so uncommon, also false obviously and you should be fired for acting a fool and not owning a mistake. So, after slightly heated discussion and them basically saying we dont have those options on computers in front for work order and then when it gets to mechanic he has the right to just guess when he is looking at two oil control valves. That is pathetic!!! No responsibility at all and the softwares apparently are not up to par for how much they rely on computers. They have clueless advisors who are basic customer service people that shouldn't even be a position at toyota ,racking up operational cost and then you put a damn part changer in the back as a mechanic. Clearly, they need serious re vamping of operation. The dept head said, we can give you labor free and charge you for the part(that we was supposed to put in to begin with). It was clearly screwing me but I decided to take it vs part and labor at palmers. This place is a joke. Half the people should not even have a job there, created positions should be removed, software should have some sort of clarity built in since nobody really knows anything apparently, mechanics should also have ownership of simple logic like seeing two valves and just guessing on one, oh wait they are part changers. Nobody retains knowledge anymore I guess but systems cannot do everything and these are bad systems in place. What I really think is, they changed the wrong side intentionally to rake me for exhaust side before going and saying the other side and I caught them by taking it elsewhere. .. So, please don't , but if you do take your car here, take it somewhere else to check the work because they are taking no responsibility clearly and don't have much knowledge either. They have blind leading the blind here within a half blind computer system, it is terrible.. don't trust any of these guys!! read more

I visited Eastern Shore Toyota recently, met with a nice-enough salesperson, who tried to charge me over 1200.00 more for my car than a competing Toyota dealer quoted. When I advised the Eastern Shore salesperson, he agreed to meet the lower quote. I DO NOT DO BUSINESS THAT WAY! I expected to receive the lowest, most honest price the first time around; so when I was later offered a lower price by Eastern Shore, I came to realize that they don't deal honestly, and that I don't want to get involved in that environment.
