Went in with the intention to buy one truck, came out with Two Gerard Sims got us everything we could ask for and really took care of us. Wasn't excited with one of the finance people who I felt wasn't looking out for our best interest but again Gerard Got us back to the original finance guy Steve and we left with numbers we were happy to work with. My sons Camero was acting up so he called for an appointment. He was told it would be three weeks. My husband called and was told one week. We dropped the car off for the appointment and they didn't start looking at it for two days but never told us. Then they tried to charge us almost $800 for something covered under the extended warranty. Move forward 5 days and we pick the car up. By the time we get home we realize it's in no way fixed. Also they slap rebuild in when they fail...not if. Very unsatisfied. I am a disabled vet and Chevy has really treated me poorly. My truck is a 16 with 82k and Im ab to put a third trans in it. My infotainment system, AC, door speakers, and rear end all failed as well. If I could give 0 stars I would. I should not pay $50,000 for a vehicle and then be given the worst customer service imaginable. I was told to drop my truck off at 1pm for a service. I dropped it off at 12:15 just to make sure they had ample time. When I dropped it off I was told it would be done in 1 hour. I showed back up at 2pm and began walking around looking to see if my truck was done. While walking around I saw the mechanic driving my truck (very fast) then pulled it onto the lift and began to raise it into the air. I then walked inside to ask if it was done and the customer service worker said no and that it had been on the lift since 1pm then I called him out saying I just watched it get pulled in when I was given a very rude response. So I had a recall on my 2015 GMC can. A recall that makes the power steering go out whenever it feels like it wants to. I call and make an appointment to fix on Thursday @ 10 am. I get off work early Wednesday and say hey let's drop it off and I'll drive my spare vehicle. Get there tell them hey I'm dropping off today and will pick up tomorrow, I have an appointment tomorrow at 10am. Will it be ready after I get off work? Service lady answers yes. She ask me to fill out paperwork and ask why is it here. I say I called and made appointment for the recall of losing my power steering and how it goes out randomly and almost makes you wreck. She checks the system sees where I do have an appointment and says yep got you right here. After I finish the paperwork 15 mins later and she had my keys. Sales lady says did you buy your truck here? I say no. She says well we can't work on it. And I say wait what? I called made an appointment no one said anything, made the appointment I'm here you said you have the part, why the hell not. Because you didn't buy the truck from us. Is Terry Thompson authorized to sell and service GMC's? Why yes. So those uplifting garbage ads are shit in the radio. Absolutely would leave 0 stars if I could. I purchased a certified used Jeep Grand Cherokee from this dealership 01/24. immediately I had a check engine light on about a week after driving it off the lot. I took the vehicle to a local mechanic after the dealership service department refused to take the vehicle in to be looked at. Long story short, the coolant tank had stop leak in it to cover up a water pump failure thus causing a cracked head gasket. I finally took the vehicle to a Jeep dealership and the powertrain warranty I bought from Terry Thompain would not cover the $2850 cost to fix the repair. This stop leak material would have been completely obvious in the coolant tank when the vehicle was brought in as a trade before I purchased it when checking fluids. I would avoid this dealership at all costs. Horrible to sell a broken vehicle with obvious issues covered up to a travel nurse that relies on a vehicle to work. read more

My husband's Silverado had a recall for the airbag issued by GM. Out of caution it was our choice not to drive the truck until a replacement part came in. GM was very slow with the process. The wonderful service manager at Terry Thompson stayed on top them, and even helped with the repairs that we needed as a result of the truck sitting for almost a year. Let me start by saying I know everyone is dealing with staff shortages and supply chain issues, that being said...this is one of the worst experiences I've ever had, and I grew up in Florida. To the point where, I have a hard time rooting for the fictional character Cole Trickle in Tom Cruise's Days of Thunder, just because he drives a Chevy. And I LOVE Days of Thunder. I don't even bother to write reviews, good or bad, unless it's been overwhelmingly positive or negative. Before even taking our car into Terry Thompson I was extremely disappointed with the quality of our latest Chevy. We are long-time Chevy customers and had just bought a new 2021 Suburban (From another dealer, not Terry Thompson, we are new to Baldwin County. By the way, new cars are expensive, phew!). Within a few months we already had problems; seat belt plastic trim falling off in the back, wireless charger not working, radio not shutting off when turning the car off and locking it, and paint peeling on the front and back of the car. Then what ultimately forced us to bring the car in, a loud knocking and shuddering coming from the engine. Oohhhh I love surprises. We have 7,200 miles on it....Turns out it's a known problem with these 5.3L engines in newer Suburbans, Tahoes, Silverados, etc. The lifters are known to break, requiring a complete replacement. Sweet! I can hear Bob Seger belting out "Like a Rock" as I type this. Night Moves is my personal favorite, though. We dropped it off because we had an oil change scheduled already, tell them we're OK leaving it longer than normal because we understand it's likely a more labor-intensive fix than the standard oil change and tire rotation. We ask about a loaner car (we're a family of five, lots of stuff going on and activities to get to). We were told all the loaners were taken and there is a waitlist. OK. How about a rental? "We can find you a rental but it has to be a GM vehicle, we'll work with the local companies to find you one if it's going to be a while." Cool man, right on, far out. That was 17 days ago. Still no loaner or rental.  Not only that, we get basically no information as to what's going on with the car and have to call and email them to get a response. After about two weeks we find out about the lifter issue and that parts are 1-2 weeks out. High fives all around! At this point just give me SOMETHING to drive, even though you said I'm only eligible for a compact SUV or smaller. (The Suburban is not a compact SUV, for those of you keeping score at home). I've given up on getting my car back anytime soon, which I'm still making payments on and paying for all the services Chevy says are super cool; OnStar, WiFi, etc.. Maybe if I had pushed the OnStar button instead this would have all been resolved. At the end of the day, I know stuff breaks, stuff happens, this is a first world problem, some dude (me) is mad about his wife's mom-mobile being in the shop too long. But Chevy is losing a customer after this go-around (Sorry babe, you'll have to find another super sick car to make the other moms jealous at dropoff and pick-up). Each vehicle has gotten progressively worse and the customer service we've received here rivals Spirit Airlines. Some might say "Oh well you didn't buy the car from them." True. And now I'm definitely not buying anything from Terry Thompson in the future. I've opened a case with GM Corporate to hopefully recoup some of the money we've paid while it's in the shop and get a rental reimbursed, GM car or not. We'll see if this squeaky wheel gets any grease. Not looking promising so far. read more

Awful company. Worst car buying experience I've ever had. If I could give negetive 5 stars I would. When I asked are they going to pay my trade in off they said yes so I asked a 2nd time are they going to pay it completely off the salesman Mike said yes we are. Never once told me they were only paying cash price and putting the rest on my new loan. Which is fraud. Trade in value was 27k-30k which I owed just over 28k on it. And then the cash price was 22k screwed me out off close to 7k. And the car I traded in was a special 50th anniversary edition mustang with 65,000 miles on it and I got a truck with 194,000 so I was basically doing them a favor in the first place. But yet they still screwed me. And the financial guy jason forced me to put gap insurance on it I asked how much it would lower payment without gap and he said it would actually go up which I knew was a lie from the beginning. Should've walked away then put didnt. If you're reading this please save yourself from a nightmare of a company and go anywhere else. This was a mistake I had to learn the hard way. read more

**I just had the WORST experience ever at Terry Thompson Chevrolet in Daphne!!! ** DO NOT send your friends or family to this business!!! Last week, our 2015 Chevy Tahoe had a little problem with the steering. I looked online and learned there was a recall for the power steering model year 2015. We made an appointment & took the car to them last Thursday. They were done that same day and I picked it up. Car was okay but fast forward to yesterday afternoon. I am driving it and my power steering goes completely OUT. !! It was feeling locked up and I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to turn it to get off the road and avoid an accident. Very scary!! I was very concerned about my safety and getting the car off the road and parked. Called my husband and we took it to the service department and dropped it off & left the keys in the drop box. So today I am thinking they are going to fix the recall correctly and get a phone call from the service department. NOT the news I expected!! They said the steering gear is broken and this is not their fault/issue and our cost to repair this is $2250.00!!! Seriously!?! I have had 4 Tahoes in the past 18-20 years and never had to replace a steering gear!! My car only has 75,000 miles on it and we find it mighty suspicious that we have this problem a few days after they worked on the "recall"!! And held my keys hostage until they collected an $85.00 fee for this information! I realize most car places charge a diagnostic fee but this whole thing just stinks all the way around!! No wonder these car guys get such a bad rap. It's just a shame they try to rip off hard working people!! read more

I didn't actually purchase a car here but my family has and I have been there several times to test drive. Their customer practices have always been towards respecting their customer's time. If you make an appointment to test drive a car, they will have it driven up to the front and ready for you. I have never experienced that they have never advertised something that wasn't true. I purchased a new vehicle from them in 2007, purchase price over 48K. Sales was good; however, over a period of a few months I had to have preventive maintenance and warranty work done. In one instance, a door handle on my lift gate was loose. They ordered a new one and installed it, painted it, a very subpar job. The finish was mottled and nowhere near like the new finish. I sent it back for a second chance, took 2 days to do that and when finished the "tech' grabbed the handle while it was wet and left a finger print. Took it back a third time, the sent it out to a body shop who got it right. During all of this, it was line pulling teeth to get a loner to drive. Over and over again, their service dept failed, absolutely no respect for a customers time. In one instance it took 4 hrs only to find out they had to order a part. Most recently, my vehicle developed cracks in the dash board. I called the service Dept only to be told they don't pay for that repair, an obvious manufacturers defect as evidenced by the pending class action suit. I requested to talk to "Jason" the service manager, left a voice message for him. No return call. This wasn't the first time this has happened to me with this individual. So here I am with a cracked dash with no recourse. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP! read more

We paid $50,000 for a pre-owned 2015 Chevy Suburban, the sales rep Mike that we dealt with was nice and knew just enough about the vehicle to teach us lil more than we already knew from the internet. I had gotten an OUT the door price from the Online manager before I went to the dealership and when it came to finalize the deal they said I was getting a better deal but with a higher OTD price! After getting upset and almost walking out they honored their quote (why they force a customer to this point makes no sense to me and is just lousy business and not professional at all). We had mentioned to Mike that the vehicle on the inside needed a better cleaning and we would come back the next day to pick it up after its cleaned. We went back the next day to pick the car up and when we got it home I had to clean it myself! I found the following things under the front 2 seats: French fries, few pennies, a Enterprise business card, a Terry Thompson Service Mgt business card, and 2 pills! I am very glad my 1 year old didn't get these pills!! While I was vacuuming the floor area I started to notice a bunch of small black ants and the more I looked the more of them I kept having to kill and clean up. I ended up pulling the front and very back 3rd row cup holders out and cleaning out some very sticky slimy stuff up (think it was a Coke spilled out or something of that sort)..I had to vacuum the car every day for 5 days straight to keep getting the ants that were in the car and we could not figure out the source. The ants and dirty stuff is one thing but the 2nd day we had the car and less than 50 miles from when we bought the car we get a "NEED ENGINE OIL" message pop up on the monitor!!! These guys actually sold us a vehicle without topping off all the essential fluids for a car to run...WOW! Needless to say I think this was probably the worst $50,000 treatment I have ever had in my life and will never give my business back to Terry Thompson; they are all about trying to keep every last penny from your pocket even after they already give you a hard price and later try to blame it on a tax difference or tax calculation mistake on their part and will not spend a single penny to make things right. By far the worse car buying experience I have ever had and will not recommend this dealership to anyone. BE VERY AWARE and make sure make sure make sure that your car is properly cleaned before you drive it off the lot...if my little girl would of taken whatever those lil pills were that I found; I probably would of drive this Suburban right through their doors! I am so glad that we decided to just double check the car ourselves when we got home... OHH and get ready for them to do their lil skit outside the finance guys door where they will talk very loudly about your deal and act like its a big deal and that no other deal like this should ever be done or people will start to lose jobs around here; it was almost annoyingly aggravating to hear the online manager and floor manager (skinny white guy in shorts on) haggle with each other like their problems or mistakes were my problem or my mistake...very childish act they were putting on; be ready for it...I am almost positive they do this lil act to everyone they think is buying their first vehicle. read more
