Springside park is an excellent site for birdwatching and general ecological interest. Meadow-loving species, like field sparrow, which can be hard to find elsewhere, can be easily observed here. I also saw people here capturing butterflies; I can imagine this would be a good place to collect (or just view) butterflies. There is a main path through the meadow that has some gravel on it, and then a bunch of periodically mowed paths. The mowing on these paths was recent enough that it is probably relatively tick-safe if you stay on the paths. This could be tick heaven if you go off the path though, so be careful. I would be cautious about bringing pets to this park because they might be likely to come back with a bunch of ticks on them if they run into the denser meadow areas. One last word of warning: the road that goes in here is a dirt road, and is in quite terrible shape. Given how close to the middle of Pittsfield this is, and how short the road was, I was quite surprised by how bad the road was. It was pretty bumpy, and I can imagine that the road will only continue to deteriorate with rain. Until they fix up the road, you may want to find a place to park earlier on in the road and walk in, rather than driving the whole way in.

It is a bit off the beaten path but offers breathtaking views. When walking on the Limestone beach look in both directions at the pure beauty of the cliffs and the trees. There is also a beautiful march beside the beach. Take a hike or walk up on the cliffs for more scenic views. A beautiful serene place I will visit time and time again. A MUST SEE

Other than a viewing platform, parking area, and an illustrated sign explaining the physical structure of the eponymous lake, there are no facilities in the park aside from washrooms. It is worth a quick stop as you have a good view of the two Lakes. The water is really clear and calm and people even go for a quick dip. There are some picnic tables for a quick meal.

The site I was moved to had not been prepped and there is moss on the pad. I called and spoke with 4 different people and no one showed. The landscaping/maintenance people drive by several times each day. I finally decided to 'live' with it but it wasn't right. I haven't seen another site in this condition in the entire park. Everything else was fine.

There are a range of trails to follow that wind around the point and you can cover at least 5 km in a loop. Bicycles are allowed on certain paths, while only runners and walkers are allowed in other areas. There are plenty of picnic areas and benches and the wooded areas overlooking the water are a great photo op. It's a beautiful place that Kingston is lucky to have within reach of downtown.

The cabin is private and quiet with an absolutely beautiful view of the lake, and comes with a private outhouse, very nice fire pit and chairs, parking close by, and storage shed with provided firewood and equipment for tennis, pickleball, and frisbee golf. The park is also within an hour of Clayton, Sackets Harbor, and Alex Bay. NOTE: there are no showers on site, we had to go about 20 minutes away to a nearby state park to use their shower facilities. We had an incredible week and would absolutely return here in the future to rent the cabin. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, private camping experience!

We stayed Fri-sunday…read more Check in at 5p (but if you call you can go in earlier like 2/3), check out at 10am (we left an hour later and they were perfectly fine with it). They have a nice sized playground right in front of the water/beach spot. Also, it was situated between two bathroom building! They have standing showers in stalls and also large bathrooms with a standing shower as well- which is very nice for people who need to go in with children or disabled people. They had bundles of wood on-site ($5) and ice ($2). Also, there is a little mart across the street from the state park that has little trinkets, supplies and ICE CREAM if maybe you forgot something for fire or food. ***IMPORTANT!! You are so close to Canada here PLEASE pay attention to your photo data if you're using it. We were able to pick up the Canadian lines and it sent the phone roaming for a little bit.*** It was very well kept! Each "camp" has a large enough tent site for 2 large tents, or more we had two, and then a fire pit with a mini grill over it and a picnic table. All it was missing was trash reciprocals but really what's on you and it was great. You can play volleyball usually but do to covid it's closed and so are boat rentals (typically $300). You can fish also and they have a bait shop. Highly highly recommend coming here! I don't know if it's typical but $22/night for the site is awesome.
