I planned on only staying for 15 minutes max, so we could get to Toronto sooner. Then, after finally hitting downtown and parking in a garage (it was $1 for 30 min...), I said "We have 30 mins max." We walked to the park, which was amazing. People were outside, the fountain was beautiful, and the weather was absolutely perfect (I know the park didn't make the weather nice, but still). There were hot dog vendors out (there were like 6, and I got the Polish sausage, which was divine). There was a street sidewalk fair of the people in the area selling various goods (I bought some homemade soap and I got some locally grown blueberries to snack on). We eventually stayed for a little over an hour. It was an hour well spent. If you are ever making the drive from Montreal to Toronto (or the other way), and the weather is nice, I highly recommend decompressing at this quaint little town. You will not be disappointed! BTW, the downtown is vibrant, lots of places to eat, hang out.

Bicycles are allowed on certain paths, while only runners and walkers are allowed in other areas. There are plenty of picnic areas and benches and the wooded areas overlooking the water are a great photo op. It's a beautiful place that Kingston is lucky to have within reach of downtown.

It's a large park with a splash pad, restrooms, a sidewalk along the waterfront, and a sandy beach with a swimming area. There is good tree cover (at least when I was there in August) so you don't have to roast in the sun. Lots of children and dogs were enjoying the day, and there are benches and picnic tables to enjoy your lunch. It's not far from the departure point for Gananoque bout tours and has a nice view of the St. Lawrence River.

Near the south end of the area you'll hear quite a bit of road noise from the 401. Scenery is nothing exceptional, though it's likely you're not coming here expecting that. The reservoir itself is very pleasant, a large if weedy pond surrounded by cattails. All we saw on it was a brood of geese, though I'd expect you could see quite a few waterbirds here if you timed your visit right. Nothing special as parks go, I suppose, but a very welcome place to escape the concrete for a while.

The nine hole course sits below Wolfe Island's massive wind turbine project. It's a surreal setting to say the least. The links style course has some long holes and while fairly level, offers challenging play ---especially for a terrible golfer, like me. It's a very low key place. You pull up and ring the bell to get the attention of the proprietor. Cart rentals are available and sometimes there are deer grazing on the fairways. They also have a driving range. Overall it's fun, friendly course in an amazingly unique setting.
