Walked into the stores that sell the potted plants that you can purchase. There are some knick knacks too around the front area of the store and an indoor plants area on the right corner (upon coming in). Noticed a lot of new types of plants/flowers and some common ones. The layout was pretty organized and they even labelled the rows of plants accordingly so that it is easier to find. After the store, we popped by the cafe on the side. There are indoor and outdoor seating area and we sat outdoor. Was given a menu upon entering and we are supposed to order our food over the counter. The main dishes are on the pricier end but I can't really say much as I didn't see the portion. Decided to go for a mixed berry smoothie and a citrus tart instead. The mixed berry was alright as some of the berries are not fully blended in. But the touch of honey made the taste a little different. The glass was tall and definitely worth it for the money. The citrus tart. It came with two bobbing whipped cream and some different jam on the side. The tart was incredible. It was sour yet sweet on the top and crispy on the bottom and the side. One of the best tarts I've had so far. More like a combination of passion fruit and lemon meringue pie. Overall, I'm glad that the house owner stopped by here to let me try out the baked goods at the cafe :)

Situated just behind the carpark in Leura, this little nursery has some definite contenders. Everything's clear and laid out, with little signs giving care info (great for unwitting plant killers like me). The atmosphere's friendly. Although, come to think of it, I've never found an unfriendly nursery. Mmmm, there's something in that. But, back to the Christmas list. Diggers heirloom veggies. Fabulous. Ever heard of a Wapsipinicon Peach Tomato? Me neither. They're peach coloured. Really! Gotta love a Black Russian tomato too. And a bonsai. And a mini Christmas tree in a pot so you don't have to participate in the senseless slaugher of pines every December. Although with my luck, they'll all burst into flames the second I walk out of the shop. I do try not to kill plants, truly.

Great for getting garden ideas as they have a few displays. One strange thing to remember, they aren't open on the weekend.

We came here on an early Saturday afternoon for brunch. [ Atmosphere ] There's plenty of tables for large or small parties, and the cafe is both indoor/outdoor. And a nice little playground for the kids in the corner. Oh and there's a beautiful view of the pond (with koi fish) from mostly everywhere you sit in the cafe. There are wooden beams with green ivy hanging from it, and just a variety of trees and plants everywhere. I felt like I was in a movie sitting there, it really felt whimsical. [ Menu ] - Bacon, poached egg, caesar salad. It was a good salad, but nothing too spectacular. Presentation was nice though. - Mango smoothie. This was really tasty, not to sweet, and just a real refreshing drink to have while sitting back and enjoying the natural scenery. - Pesto pasta. This was great, you can't really go wrong with a pesto pasta. - Cappuccino. Just your average [ Service ] This is why I didn't give them 5 stars, mainly because the service was pretty bad. At the time we came we understood they were understaffed, but the staff that were there at the time didn't really have a great attitude about serving us. It's times like that when you can see if someone will choose to put on a smile and serve or just be mad at the world, and boy our server was mad at the world. We felt really rushed when she was taking our order, and she didn't bother smiling at all. Even when she gave us our order, we were afraid to ask for more napkins or utensils because she seemed so disgruntled. I felt bad for her, but at the same time, it's really all about being flexible. Overall I loved this place only because of the beautiful scenery. I wish I could take my mum here, she would've loved it. There's gravel strewn paths and raised beds all grown over the sides with, I am reliably informed, Baby's Breath. Must be a rather ill baby methinks. Makes all the edges green and fuzzy. I was only along for the ride, as my attempts to keep anything plant-related alive seem doomed to failure. I hope to somehow suck up gardening ability by osmosis, but it hasn't worked yet. So I listened to advice about growing rare and unusual cold climate perennials (they have a whole section no less), try to imagine the joy of successfully growing something heirloom and wonderful from seed, and peeked at the tiny Christmas trees in pots. They seem to have a great selection of plants here, including lots of hard to find ones specifically suited to the colder climes of the upper mountains. I await the day when I manage to not wither a poor defenceless plant to a pale stick with great anticipation. It'll happen one day, I hope.

I came here for lunch during my lunch break at my store - Diane's Crystals On George Street. Their selection of tuna is to die for - I had the super salad with extra tuna (hold the salad). The aura is very pleasant. I personally was able to have a peaceful realignment process after a negative experience at another location that I shall never mention again! Their menu was divine before, unfortunately it has removed some museli and tuna. However, I am still able to find a nourishing dish to achieve photosynthesis peacefully. Come one, come all! I tend to have a Medusa-type effect on the humble plant, striking them dead with a glance and without even trying, I swear. My mother tells me gardening comes with age. I'd better get a move on. My experience at this casual garden centre has been in buying plants for other people, and the staff has proved friendly and knowledgable. The space is clear and well sign-posted, enough for me not to mistake a native for an indoor plant, Diggers heirloom tomatoes for edging. I think I should spend more time here, perhaps something'll rub off.
