My child has been going to Sprout since he was 3 months old. It has been a fantastic experience and I recommend them to everyone I know.
As a first time mom, I was really nervous about leaving my baby with anyone. I thought, "Who could care for my baby better than me? I know him better than anyone!" Thankfully, any initial apprehensions were quickly dispensed with. Everyone at Sprout was more than willing to listen to the concerns of an over protective, control freak mom. They even watched a video I sent them on how I wanted my son to be bottle fed and implemented the techniques without judging me for making the request. In fact, there is an overall philosophy of allowing the kids (and parents) learn in their own way, at their own pace.
As a parent, my opinions, requests and concerns have always been addressed with kindness, open mindedness and swift action. I appreciate the fact that Sprout respects that every family has their own approach to raising their child. And while my approach may be different from others, I'm never made to feel as though I'm doing it wrong for doing it my way. Having that support as a new parent was invaluable considering how often one receives unsolicited parenting advice.
As for my child, I have seen him develop a strong sense of confidence and independence. The teachers do a great job at supporting his curiosity for learning by actively engaging with him, whether it is through music, reading, art or play. It's so gratifying to see him get so much out of each day.
I'm consistently impressed by all the knowledge and skills my son has learned under the care provided at Sprout. Everyday he tells me or shows me something I know didn't come from me. It started with baby sign language and as he has gotten older, grew to include:
- social skills (both playing with others and standing his ground when wronged)
- a well developed vocabulary beyond his years (he told me his "trucks are entangled" when playing with his construction trucks - indeed they were)
- manual dexterity with utensils (he just came home one day wanting a spoon to feed himself yogurt!)
- manners (I love it when he says "please", "thank you" and even "bless you" after someone sneezes)
- cleaning up after himself (he brings his plate and cup to the sink after eating, picks up his toys when asked)
- a broaden palette (he is more willing to try new foods when the other kids are eating the same daycare provided meals)
Those are just a handful of items I'm pleasantly surprised to see him come home with. I wish I could take credit for his development but honestly, just about all of it has come directly from going to Sprout. Would he have learned those skills from me or my husband? Hopefully at some point. But it would not have been nearly as quick nor as comprehensive. I attribute a lot of his knowledge and skills to his teachers at Sprout.
When it comes to judging the quality of childcare my child is receiving, I prefer to focus on his growth and development. I know Sprout was a good choice for us just by seeing how much my child loves it there. Everyday he comes home happy and excited about his day. I am extremely pleased with the care at Sprout, so much so that I had no hesitation in adding our second child to the Sprout family. Knowing that my children are receiving personalized attention and are so well cared for really puts my mind at ease and allows me to focus on my job. I'm so happy we found such a great daycare for our children. read more
