The best part about these guys, their initial service fee is not outrageous, like I see with most others appliance services. The service tech they sent, Jerry, although a young man in his early 20s, he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Luckily, my furnace only needed an adjustment to the gas pressure to place it back in normal operating mode. So my initial fee covered his visit and the adjustment, unlike other vendors I've used in the past where they look for things that they can charge you more or say they're about to break, just to charge you more money for the service. I'm pleased to say, this is NOT the case with this company..... I highly recommend this company!!!!

My husband contacted Nemcheck for a service call and they were able to come out in a very timely manner. Due to our AC unit being located under the deck, and the fact that it was 24 years old, it was running constantly, and it was determined that there was an issue. It was more cost-effective to purchase a new AC unit. The technician was very thorough in explaining what our options were. Rob came to determine where we would like our new AC unit , to confirm the AC unit we wanted , and to take measurements also . Again, he was very thorough in going through the options and what was going to happen with the install. After ordering the unit, the Nemcheck team arrived for our scheduled install. The whole team was very friendly, respectful and working hard all day. My husband and I are thrilled with our AC unit and would absolutely utilize Nemcheck Heating and Cooling in the future. After doing some research online looking for local recommendations, I called Ziegler Heating & Cooling on Monday morning at 7am. I was sent to voicemail when I contacted Ziegler, so I hung up and called Knoechel. (I called Ziegler first because I have an American Standard AC unit, and based on Zieglers website, it appeared that American Standard was a preferred brand of theirs/they may specialize in. Whereas Lennox appears to be the preferred brand at Knoechel. - my thought process was, if I was going to need a replacement, then I'd want an American Standard, hence Ziegler was my first call). Spoke with a woman who answers incoming calls for Knoechel, who took all of my information (contact info and description of the problem) and informed me that I'd receive a call back shortly. 30 minutes later I received a call from one of their techs who then arrived at my house less than 10 minutes later (I am local in Zelienople, where they are headquartered). Within an hour my AC was running normally again without any attempts to upsell/oversell. (Thorough cleaning of AC coils on the outside unit, replacement of dual capacitor, and temperature checks - about an hours worth of work, $177) All that work PLUS the expediency in response time came at a price that was in line with a competitor a family member had used last week located in Pittsburgh (which was too far away to service my house in Zelie). Without question, I'd recommend Knoechel!

They can't be bothered to come out during a holiday even if you paid for their annual maintenance. Many other HVAC companies that I should know better than to try and go back.

They came last year to service our furnace before winter. We had some water leaking around out vent…read morepipe and asked them to check it out. We were told that " it's your roof. My back is bad and I am not climbing up on the roof to look". Though ok they can check it if it gets bad or next time they come. We signed up for the service contract that is like $20 a month and it cover the bi-yearly checks and is covered under the contract also gives discounts on parts and labor if work needs done. So our credit card needed to be replaced and the number changed. We have called them 3 times left messages and never got a response! We are trying to give them money and they won't call us ! Oh, and since then our chimney cap came off and was on the ground. It was rotted clean through! Guess it wasn't a roofing issue after all! If a company won't return your call when you are trying to pay them what will they do if you have a problem and need their help ?

As the owner of a house that…read morewas very new to me then, I saw up in the attic that the amount of insulation seemed to be lacking. I found this company on-line & called. A receptionist took a message & I was soon re-called by the owner, Andy. He arranged to visit & inspect the attic. He agreed that it was under-insulated when we went up there together. I go up there more than maybe most homeowners because the furnace is there. Anyway, his devise also suggested there was a low "R value" so he offered me two levels of additional cellulose insulation. One thing he felt wasn't necessary was to cover the area above the garage, which had nothing at all. The attic is one big area that includes that area above the garage with no separation from the area above the rest of the house. I figured that since he'd be up there already, to have him blow-in more on the same visit. So I actually wanted more than his higher option. I also wanted to have my house protected as much from the heat as from the cold. As summers seem to keep getting hotter, I know the attic can get quite steamy, so I figured it could help in the summer. I got a price & decided not to shop around for counter-offers. Andy seemed like an honest guy & I figured that his price would be comparable to other estimates for similar services. We set a date & he arrived on-time. The work only took about two hours as he brought a big truck with a long hose that could reach all corners of the attic from the one opening inside the garage. Since I had no prior experience in the house, I can't compare the two winters I've been in it with anything from before. The house does seem less drafty than the house I came from in VA, though that house was older & had larger windows. But I've generally been comfortable during the winters & the furnace doesn't seem to work over-time. This past summer, I can't make the same claim, but I think that was a result of the high humidity that holds the heat & no amount of insulation can remedy that issue.

Andy was the main contact and performer and he believes in quality. He set expectations where they need set, and he did the job where it needed done. If I had to make a complaint, it would be that I wish he performed even more services I needed, because he was so reliable with the work in his scope of performance. Cost was very fair.
