If I could, I would give this duo and their family 10 stars. WIthin10 minutes of being on the Fiddle Lake Farm property I didn't want to leave it and in fact was determined to write this review in that instant. However I did not, as It was intended to be a romantic ski trip weekend that could also fulfill my craving for adrenalin. Despite being an adrenalin junkie and it being the first big snowfall of the season, I would have been perfectly content playing board games with my honey there on the farm, or gone cross country skiing through the hilly acreage, or kicking back to learn a thing or two about what it means to live off the grid and give back to the environment from the lovely Pam and Craig. If you're looking to pamper yourself or forgot what it meant to relax - hang out at the farm; you've found the right place. I can't wait to return and learn more about the history of the property or better yet, the future of it!

I stayed there over Labor Day weekend and still float around in a blissful state when I think about it a month and a half later. It was like stepping back in time when I walked through the front door. Everything about the original curved staircase handrails, the china teacups, all of the antique furniture, the jaw dropping detail in decor to the mouth watering breakfasts served - ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! My room was stunning as well as welcoming and comfortable. The old home is tucked back from the beaten path - so quiet I could hear the leaves falling outside of my opened sashed windows. If you inquire about it, Patty and Randy know the complete history (and gossip!) of the home and Tunkhannock. I could've talked with them for hours. I look forward to visiting them again!

Right along the Susquehanna River, up against acres of corn and bluebird fields. Make sure you check out the PA Dutch barn, from 1855. Prices are wildly reasonable, too. Some folks have trouble finding it using GPS. My advice is to ignore the GPS and just drive southeast across the river, on the main bridge in the center of town (Rt. 29), as if you're going to Scranton. Turn in sharply toward the Comfort Inn on your right or southwest, then drive past the Comfort Inn, along the river, for two miles.

As…read moretime went by (we committed to staying 4 months full-time), we had a couple horror/issues with the owners. In addition, speaking with other campers - both seasonal & occasional campers - there were other horror stories from the owners more concerned about their picnic tables rather than notifying campers to evacuate because the creek was going to flood where the campers stood - the campers / RV's were destroyed in the flood (during our stay, the creek did overflow the bank in some places but the owners didn't contact us for any concerns) to giving a discount, which was paid in full at the beginning of the stay and then trying to charge an entire month's fee for an additional 7 days/1 week stay plus overcharging on the electric and saying a canceled check was not proof of payment. We also, on several occasions, had campground employees come up and look at what we had outside (I had the car and my husband was there and caught them in the act). The restrooms were not serviced very well. In the 4 months that we were there the light in the women's shower worked twice so showering in the dark was the norm. Add in the fact that it was normal for debris to be on the floor, showering had to include flip flops and/or a floor mat to safely bathe. On a couple occasions, the campground hosted private parties that had loud booming music that literally vibrated our RV till well after midnight (1 - 2 am). Those times were not a pleasant experience. When campers were loud, there was no consequences for disturbing the peace. The rules they had in writing were ignored and the owners made up rules as it suited them. We will never stay there again. If you're a full-time RVer or even a seasonal camper, I would not recommend this campground and if you do, carefully check your bills as they tend to double charge and their staff/ower's are questionable.

I went in to inquire about a room and the gentleman was rude and could barely take the time to get off his phone to talk to us. He was rude to other people who were coming in as well. We had to Uber to another location to get a truck to help us tow out of the parking lot. This took hours and hours and was very stressful. He kept bothering us multiple times telling us that we would have to give him money if we stayed in the lot. By the time we got the rental truck it was very late at night and we didn't think it would be nice to make a lot of noise and transfer goods and everything into the rental truck so we settled for a couple hours to rest. At almost one in the morning he pounded on our windows waking us up demanding money if we were going to stay there. He basically extorted money from us for the convenience of us sitting a couple hours in the furthest spot in the lot. He took advantage of our misfortune and is a horrible human being! Hire someone nicer please.

That is our situation, as we are in town for a funeral and this is the place someone was able to secure a block of rooms-- though, not without some challenges on getting the rates reduced. Guess when you're the only game in town, you can select how many f**ks you choose to give. The biggest challenge is for the big city folk who are used to a more technology-led level of service. Colonial Inn still gives actual keys for their rooms and asks for a deposit on said key. Lose the key? It's bigger than everything on my keychain!! Plus I've been showing everyone, "Look at this!" The ladies at the front desk are sweet, but not at all speedy. They had my reservation written in a board and my room information written on a card. They also divulged the room numbers of my family, which was sweet but shocking as most hotels guard guest information pretty securely. So, think twice before hosting your extramarital affairs here. There is no breakfast of any sort and your request for late checkout is dependent upon the maid's cleaning schedule, so you can only make a day-of requests. The internet is too slow for me to manage some work emails on my laptop. In an attempt to connect, my laptop just said "you sure it can't wait?" And the hallways are narrow with creaky wood floors, so, again, not an ideal location for sneaking up on your cheating spouse. But the rooms were vey clean, the balcony door had a safety bar, we have some cable TV stations, and the fridge in the room was a nice addition as we were carting food between relatives. If it had a gym and stronger internet, this place could be a chic hipster retro hotel. For now, it's a place that simply serves a function--but it does it pretty well.

We had a large group and rented it out for a few days (August) just to get away for a weekend and had an absolutely fantastic experience First the inside: This house is loaded with anything you would need for getaway that still requires having some amenities that you're used to. There is a fully loaded kitchen with ice maker, fridge, microwave, stove/oven, toaster, and other items (dishes, silverware, glassware, etc.). Of course, you have to stock your own food, but that's to be expect the main hall is quite large and has plenty of room for seating for everyone. There's a bar/entertainment center with a TV mounted, gas fireplace (pipes were closed off, probably because it's summer), pool table, and shuffle board table. They also had a full poker set with cards and chips. The rooms are small but adequate, serving their purpose. There are only 2 showers in the facility, but 4 total bathrooms. There is a washer/dryer available as well in a back storage room. The outdoor area is a vast space that is completely private and secluded. There are grills (charcoal), a large fire pit (they included some firewood, but not a significant amount), tennis court, and plenty of picnic style tables. Further down, there is a private pond (not huge, but a good size) with a dock. You can take out kayaks (2 are available) or a row-boat to cruise around the pond. You'll need to stock up on all of your supplies prior to coming here as there are very few stores in the area. Handling garbage is easy as there is a big dumpster out front. Parking is plentiful and we were able to fit 8 cars with room for plenty more. Overall this is a great place for a getaway, they are located near ski mountains and if that's your thing, you wouldn't be making a mistake using this as a base for a ski trip.
