We stayed at the farmhouse suite which was a separate building a short drive away. 2 bedrooms, one California king and a second room with two twin beds. Each room had its own thermostat which was very nIce. Breakfast is at 745a in the main house. We will grab a bite on our way to the mountain. You could have breakfast earlier if you wish. We checked in at the main house and met Jim, owner. Valerie owner, showed us our quarters she was preparing them as we arrived. There have been a few upgrades recently. The place is serviceable for a ski weekend. We are about 4 miles rom Elk Mountain resort. There is a package store a few steps away and a gas pump. We both slept well the bed is comfortable. Bathroom and kitchen serviceable. There is a tv with limited cable. Breakfast was fine many items on offer and cooked to order by the proprietor. A few other couples were seen on our second morning. Our farmhouse suite is unoccupied but for the two of us. Brown water. Something about a carpenter. They provided bottled water. A few of the lights were not functional. Garage and storage trailers spoil the porch view of the sunset. They need to plant a row of hedges. Electric heat. Ok but wake up a bit dried out. The drive to Elk was about 10 mins. The parking pass was really grreat we drove right up to the lodge and parked five steps away from the entrance. Extremely convenient. A decent place with great people, good breakfasts and location. The next morning, a scrupulously delicious breakfast was served; with a fresh brewed coffee from Ethiopia & a freshly squeezed grapefruit hearty drink. Yoga awaits me at 11am. The two of them are a dynamic duo who complement each other perfectly and could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. They had brilliant ideas and great vision from the very start. Mary helped plan all of the logistics of the weekend and baked a delicious cake. She was also a great resource for local vendors within the community. Mark was a master chef and the go to person when it came to last minute items (My family and friends are still talking about the food). We very much appreciate their generosity--of time, support, and thoughtful ideas--and cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work. It truly paid off. The area was so peaceful and relaxing that we decided we weren't ready to leave. The wonderful owners made adding an extra night incredibly easy and accommodating, which we really appreciated. We stayed in Cabin 3, which had two bunk beds and a double bed, and everything was very clean and comfortable. Having a full private bathroom with hot water was a huge plus, along with a fully operable air conditioner and a Roku TV when we wanted to unwind at night. You also have the pond available for swimming, and the entire property has that quiet, laid-back atmosphere that makes you actually feel like you got away from everything. The honor-system general store was another great touch. It was extremely convenient to grab ice, food items, souvenirs, and even old-time candy without having to leave the property. The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming throughout our stay. And having KC Peppers Bar & Grill right there is a major bonus and definitely one of the highlights of the area. What really makes Lake Wanoka special, though, is everything surrounding it. Within minutes you have incredible local dairies, farms, butchers, delis, and restaurants. Hartler Farms was a must for fresh milk and meat, and Alpine Restaurant & Deli had some of the best beef bacon and Canadian bacon I've ever had. You can spend the day exploring the area, come back with some of the best local meat and dairy you can find, and cook an unbelievable meal right at camp. It really gives you the best combination of camping, comfort, great local food, and peace and quiet. For us, it was well worth the four-plus-hour drive. The fact that we came for the weekend and ended up adding another night probably says it better than anything else could. Peaceful, clean, accommodating, and surrounded by some fantastic local food and farms. We would absolutely come back. Five stars!

It was as if I was at home during my stay here. She was there to answer questions, put out nightly snacks, and make the most delicious breakfast! I actually did not stay the night before my wedding, but all of my family did. The morning of my wedding Jackie invited me back so I could have breakfast with my family before my big day. She was very accommodating/pleasant unlike other places in Dushore. I HIGHLY recommend staying at this bed and breakfast if you'd like a relaxing trip with a down to earth person who is such a sweet person.
