As many of you probably know by now, mac and cheese is my all time favourite. I saw that they had it as a side dish for $2 so had to try it. I wasn't really feeling a sandwich (though the pulled pork looked really good), so I opted for the pulled pork nachos. They nachos were $8 and a pop was $1. When I ordered, the guy who took my order said "why don't we make it a combo" and only charged me $10. I love when places do that! Anyway, the nachos were perfectly cheesy, and were topped with sour cream and pico de gallo (one of my fave things in the world). It was fresh and home made. The absolute best was the pulled pork. It was so deliciously juicy and was coated with a tangy BBQ sauce - not too saucy though! I would get this again for sure. The mac and cheese was just as good. They use the spiral noodles which are always fun. It's not too too cheesy, but has some good herbs and spices that make up for it. It has a bit of a kick too. Just a slight bit of heat. I would have liked a bit more, but I'm not going to lie, with the mac and cheese and nachos I was stuffed and had to bring some more. And yes, it was just as good heated up later. I've been in Hamilton for work this past week too and have walked by Jackson Square everyday hoping the food truck would be there. Sometimes driving 20-30 minutes out of my way to grab a bite. The Mr Blonde is my favourite. But the peachy blonde and the one with the chorizo are awesome too. I chose the pulled jackfruit sandwich which came with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce which was tasty! I subbed the vegan mayo for the scotch bonnet mayo because I wanted to add some heat. That was such a good call because that mayo is amazing. The employee made sure to check with me to make sure I knew it was spicy and then told me that all of their sauces are made in-house. As a major condiment fan, I love that and they even gave me a side of the Hennessy mustard on the side to try. It's good and the Hennessy really hits you upfront but doesn't linger in the aftertaste which was nice. They have a ton of options for both vegans and omnivores alike so I'd certainly recommend stopping by and trying out their menu. The staff said that of all the restaurants in the plaza they had the most vegan options which is cool! There are pre-assembled choices as well as ones that are customizable. Extra toppings are only $0.25 each, so you can make anything your own. I'll definitely come back!
