I had been here five years ago and it exploded my brain. Their brisket is still fantastic. Super tender and really flavorful. But I wish I had just gotten brisket. It's a very laid-back place which I love. I really like the jukebox. We got the corn bread and it was fine but nothing to write home about. I got the three different sliders and same thing the brisket one was amazing and the other two were just OK. And the coleslaw that came with them wasn't the best. They did give us enough tater tots to sink a ship. Which I loved. They put some kind of seasoning on them that was really yummy. So if you want some great brisket 100% go here if you think you want some thing else from what we tried it wasn't the best. They do do homemade pie every day which is pretty exciting and they did have milkshakes but we were too full to try them.

One of my favourite restaurants! You sure do get a lot of food for the price, it's super filling! I always get their Pulled Pork sliders which are absolutely delicious and saucey. The Mac n Cheese is ooey gooey and absolutely perfect! Perfect meal in my opinion! Also tried their Smoked Cheddar poutine which was yummy. I will say, I was a bit disappointed by their Caesar. The rim was bland and gross. Drink itself appeared to have been straight from the premade glass bottle, nothing special.

Special BBQ place that was recommended from a work colleague friend. It is takeout only during COVID times. Typically I have not had a lot of trust with CDN Q joints as I've had the fortunate opportunity to eat some great smoked beef and Ribs all over the American south. When you drive up here you get a delicious wafting aroma of smoke and meat. It gets the taste buds going. On my visit I went with a brisket platter with collard greens and pit beans. It was succulent and delicious. The brisket had an amazing bark and was fork tender and great with the homemade BBQ sauce. The pit beans were outstanding. Collards were as how greens should be with little chunks of bacon. Definitely a heavy lunch. An all afternoon and evening long digestion session. But man.....was it flavourful, tangy and downright delicious. I ended up bringing back home some of their BBQ sauce which came in a 1L container. Tangy and zippy. Can't wait till I'm in the area to savour and enjoy again! True amazing Q!

BBQ Platter - ribs, brisket, and pulled pork

Memphis Fire is a bit off the beaten path, but is still close enough to the QEW that's it's a worth a stop if you're passing by, like I was. This place does authentic, Memphis-style (big surprise, eh?) barbeque. My friend and I tried their platter, which included ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, along with 2 sides - we chose mac & cheese and tater tots. Ribs - a big disappointment. Very, very dry. Oversmoked, probably at too high of a temperature and for too long. Brisket - tender and delicious, thought a lot more fat that I would have preferred...I'd estimate that 40% of our portion consisted of fat. Pulled Pork - well done, no complaints here. Mac & Cheese - also well done. It was clear that they used real cheese. Tater Tots - simple, everyday tater tots, yet they paired well with the rest of the items. Dip them in the cheese sauce! Overall a decent experience, but I'd probably look to eat elsewhere next time.

Ever since I moved to Hamilton, I have been wanting to try this restaurant. I was told to go early for lunch because they can sell out of meat come dinner time on a busy day. We went on a weekday for lunch and it filled up with more people quickly. We ordered the Memphis Tour which is 8 oz of pulled pork, 8 oz of beef brisket and 1/2 rack of ribs along with a side of big guns spiced tator tots and mac n cheese. Everything was amazing! The meat was all very juicy and flavoured perfectly with their bbq sauce. The prices were decent for the amount of meat you received. I would definitely go again! The service was great too.

Hidden gem! Coming here was a throw back to the 80s. Love the atmosphere. Classic southern food. The root beer float was good! Didn't have one in ages! Really hit the spot. The ribs were average. Fries were done well. Crispy on every bite!' What made me make it to a four star was the pie!

I don't know why there are good reviews for this place. It was more than a little disappointing. I wanted so much to love this place, for the atmosphere, for the service, for the out of the way, and great pit-stop, location. the food was lacklustre, swimming in grease, and found both me and my wife ill when we got home. I suspect because of the abundance of grease. I will reluctantly eat here again, i'm sure. hopefully i'll be able to amend this review for the better.

I came here with my friend after a stella recommendation from my sister. It may be a bit of a ways off and may not look like much from the outside, but it sure packs on a kick on the inside. The staff was helpful (when it came to ordering) and super friendly. In the end, I ordered the sliders (it was a great sampler of three of their meats - the beef brisket was by far my favourite) with a side order of mac and cheese (so creamy and had the faint taste of something else - horse radish maybe?). My friend also got the sliders, but with salad and a biscuit. The food was more than enough and great value for the price. I would definitely want to come here again the next time I'm in the area.

I just stumbled upon this place in Jackson Square last Friday as I was in Hamilton for work this…read moreweek. This honestly made my day. I love gourmet food trucks, and so rarely see them. As many of you probably know by now, mac and cheese is my all time favourite. I saw that they had it as a side dish for $2 so had to try it. I wasn't really feeling a sandwich (though the pulled pork looked really good), so I opted for the pulled pork nachos. They nachos were $8 and a pop was $1. When I ordered, the guy who took my order said "why don't we make it a combo" and only charged me $10. I love when places do that! Anyway, the nachos were perfectly cheesy, and were topped with sour cream and pico de gallo (one of my fave things in the world). It was fresh and home made. The absolute best was the pulled pork. It was so deliciously juicy and was coated with a tangy BBQ sauce - not too saucy though! I would get this again for sure. The mac and cheese was just as good. They use the spiral noodles which are always fun. It's not too too cheesy, but has some good herbs and spices that make up for it. It has a bit of a kick too. Just a slight bit of heat. I would have liked a bit more, but I'm not going to lie, with the mac and cheese and nachos I was stuffed and had to bring some more. And yes, it was just as good heated up later. I've been in Hamilton for work this past week too and have walked by Jackson Square everyday hoping the food truck would be there. Unfortunately I've been disappointed b/c it hasn't been there, but they do have a "where are we" map on their website.

However, this one across from Scarborough Town Centre is roughly half the distance for me to get to by car. This Street Eats Market is where Old Scott House used to be. Years ago, when I worked in Scarborough, a colleague was about to retire. A handful of us came here for his farewell dinner. I was fortunate to be a part of it and that restaurant had the best chateaubriand that I shared with a friend. Sadly, this restaurant died and became a Baton Rouge. I never dined there, but it also folded. I am pleased that Street Eats Market has made a home here. I dropped by last Friday for a late lunch. I decided to park in front of Walmart, across from the entrance that is also close to Best Buy. Technically, there wasn't a pedestrian crossing for me to cross the street. However, my spending three years working nearby helped. I still remembered how the traffic lights are timed at this intersection, which includes off-ramp traffic from highway 401 that isn't as crazy as exiting off McCowan. I safely made it across. If you want to play it safer as a pedestrian, park at the Best Buy lot (there's lot of parking) and walk over. There is a pedestrian crossing on the north side of Progress Avenue. Alternatively, there's another entrance with parking further east. However, that one is the main entrance to Street Eats Market and is a lot busier. There are two main food trucks that attracted me to drop by: - Rick's Good Eats - BeaverTails I absolutely love the food from both places. Since I had purchased a bunch of donuts earlier in the day, I decided to skip BeaverTails this visit and focus on Rick's Good Eats. I had my eyes on the tandoori gar-par wings. They are strictly available at this food truck and not at their Mississauga restaurant. There were a bunch of other food options that tempted me, but I am a wings fanatic and had to get them. I approached the food truck and had a friendly female staffer take my order. I ordered the wings and got a watermelon lemonade to wash everything down. I paid for my food with my debit card. Including a tip, it was $25. It's not cheap eating at food trucks. Since I love them so much and don't do it often, I was perfectly fine shelling out. She said that it would take ten minutes to complete my order. I was good. It allowed me to walk around, although it was spitting rain. I was prepared, armed with my umbrella. She asked whether I wanted the watermelon lemonade now and with my order. I went with the former. The watermelon lemonade was in a cute bottle. It was $7, which seemed expensive. I am glad that it came in one size or I'd be drinking that stuff all day. It was so refreshing. It's more lemony than watermelony. It wasn't overly sweet. I was happy. My wings were ready. I was thrilled and excited. I thanked the woman and headed over to my car with my food, thanking the greeter at the main Street Eats Market entrance along the way. I safely crossed the intersection, got into my car, and chowed down. A man parked a couple of spots away from my car made the same journey over to the market. The tandoori gar-par wings are exactly what you'd expect from Rick's Good Eats. The wings were a decent size and meaty. The tandoori spices were so flavourful. There was some heat and it built up as I had wing after wing. There was parsley sprinkled on top, which brought lovely pops of colour. The hints of garlic and parmesan made these wings out-of-this-world delicious! I saw perhaps two food trucks closed during my visit. I don't know whether it was due to weather, but I have now visited two Street Market Eats locations on gloomy days that threatened rain and the variety of food vendors has been great. This one also has Meltwich, Tut's, El Bosco, and more. The next food truck that I have had on my radar is Get Your Own Taters. It happened to be next to Rick's Good Eats. I love tater tots and their gourmet offerings looked incredible. It's crazy that I visited two food trucks in three days. I thought that I could safely say that I had visited both locations. I found out after my visit that a third location in Vaughan just opened this weekend. Well, you know what that means... I need to head to Vaughan soon! I dig this location across from Scarborough Town Centre. I can't wait to return and try more offerings from other food trucks. (277)

I love this idea of having the variety of food trucks all located in a parking lot! Since they took…read moreover the lot where Baton Rouge was, there's a gravel lot next to it where you can park. So we had to line up to get in. When we got to the end of the line up, we were in front of Laz-Boy's store. But the line moved quickly and we were inside the compound in about 7 minutes after lining up. Once we were inside, it was food trucks galore! After browsing on the numerous options available, we decided on something we have never tried: The Funky Patacon. We ordered a Flying Porky (pulled pork) and Pata Grilled (beef tenderloin). The wait time was about 10+ minutes and we got our food. We also ordered 2 drinks from Alijandro's: Pomegranate and Mango Lime lemonades. Onto the food. We have never had plantains before and this was a pleasant surprise. The subtle sweetness of the plantains went really well with the pork and beef tenderloin (respectively). Both tasted great! The drinks were refreshing also. Overall experience was amazing. There will be other food trucks coming soon. Thanks Street Eats Market and STC for hosting and setting things up!
