I had contacted several law firms to see about bankruptcy. They all told me the same thing; I earned too much money to file chapter 7. They said my only option was chapter 13. I filed chapter 13 with another firm. After several months I realized I could not afford the payments to the bankruptcy trustee. What was worse, the trustee decided that I could pay more and raised the amount of the monthly payment. Eventually, my case was dismissed. I was now back where I started. I had read the bankruptcy law, and I understood the means test, but not a single firm would take me on as a chapter 7. At this point I was just thinking that maybe I could file chapter 13 again but have a lower monthly payment to the trustee. It was obvious that I could not afford the payments outlined in my last filing. I contacted the Bankruptcy Center and met with Allan. I explained my situation to him and stressed that if I could just get a lower payment to the court, I should be able to discharge the bankruptcy. A few days after this meeting I received a call from Allen. He said that considering my financial situation that chapter 7 would be a better option. I explained to him that all the other firms I had contacted told me that wasn't an option due to my income. He explained that regardless of my income, at the end of the month I had no money left due to other expenses.  The Bankruptcy Center filed my case as a chapter 7 bankruptcy and three days ago my dept was discharged. I can't not tell you how it feels to have a fresh start. I think of all those other firms that told me it couldn't be done because I earned too much money. I'll be forever grateful to Allan and John for putting in the extra time and attention into my case.  If you find yourself in a similar situation, give these guys a call.
