I booked a newborn photoshoot through her Facebook advertisement for a "discounted" rate of over $300. At no point before or during the session was I informed of a contract. Come to find out that the package only included 10 edited images. I only learned about this six minutes before I was asked to select my images from the full gallery. The contract was never provided before the session or before payment. I requested the contract twice once I found out about and still never got it until right before my photos were delivered. When I asked the first time, my message was completely ignored. Then I followed back up weeks later, this time I was told it would be sent the following week when she went back to work, but it never was. I had no problem promptly paying my invoice as soon as she sent it months before the photoshoot, also still doesn't mention a contract. When I asked her to send me where the context was sent, she wouldn't. After I questioned the limited gallery, she repeatedly claimed she had already sent the contract multiple times. However, electronic contracts include timestamps showing when they are sent, delivered, and opened. If the contract had actually been sent before the session, those records would exist. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she continued to insist it had been sent and became argumentative when I expressed my concerns. She expects you to ask or research her website for important limitations that she won't disclose on until after your photoshoot, and asking reasonable questions was met with rudeness instead of professionalism. I booked directly through her Facebook advertisement. Neither the advertisement nor the invoice disclosed these limitations or directed me to review additional terms on her website before booking. Customers should not be expected to search a website for important details that should have been clearly communicated from the beginning. The problem isn't the package itself--it's the lack of communication, transparency, and treating customers with no respect. I cannot recommend someone who withholds important information until after services are completed and then responds unprofessionally when customers ask legitimate questions.

It had NOTHING to do with your turnaround time. I responded this on Facebook. Actually... I didn't expect you to be working at 2 am! I sent you a very nice direct message at 8:49 a.m. to alert you that I had responded just to bring attention to it, as emails can get passed over (like you said...you have several to go through ‍) There was a deadline and I wanted my questions answered prior to that deadline...rightfully so. You did mention that I could cancel if I wanted to and I stated that I did not. I've never mentioned anything about your response time, so I'm not sure what expectations you are referring to. What I didn't like was your tone. I do think that it is unprofessional that you can not explain your contract. It worked out for the best, I should have read the Yelp reviews first!

They do have industrial fans, but still.

I was first exposed to the owner, Robert, as part of a networking event where he captured the essence of people interaction quite nicely. When deciding on if, and then who, I would go with to cover my party, I reached out to Robert. The process from initial contact to event date was very smooth. I was able to utilize Google Checkout for my payments and an over-the-phone chat with Robert the week before my event was all I needed to naildown the types of photographs I wanted for my party. The party was only a 3-hr block, so only one photographer was needed. Robert was prompt and accommodated many of my "take a picture of us" demands :). Definitely would use 'em again!

This alone would be enough to recommend him, but the photo shoot is where Robert definitely shines. He already had several spots picked out at Piedmont Park, having scouted these prior to our meeting. I haven't visited the park very often so Robert let me know exactly where to park, even offering to meet me and let me follow him to the parking deck. Robert and I walked over to the spot and he talked to me about what he had in mind for the shoot. Then he asked my opinion. I did have some ideas that I thought about offering, but I wasn't sure a professional photographer would want to hear them. He was, however, extremely receptive about hearing what I thought. The session itself went really well. I told Robert that it helps for me to loosen up if he would talk to me while taking shots, which he happily did. This made the whole session so much easier for me. He had three spots picked out and each was better than I anticipated. Robert definitely has the vision as a photographer, while being flexible to my needs, to get the best out of his clients. For example, I told him that I have a "fake smile" that sometimes crops up and Robert caught that little bit of my personality during the shoot. He asked me several times if this shot was a "fake smile." This, in and of itself, loosened me up to display a real smile. If I had to pick one attribute that I would look for in a photographer, aside from the ability to take great pictures (which Robert has) it would be the ability to make the client feel at ease and Robert definitely has this trait.

I consider myself an intermediate creative, but there is always something to learn. I don't think I'll ever finish learning about photography . The experience was exceptionally educational. We spent three hours at Barrington Hall in Roswell. The first hour was a powerpoint preso explaining various camera settings all about getting the right light and metering the a shot. The next two hours were spent with models in various poses in settings on property. With explanation and hands on assistance throughout the shoot. I have to experiment with the my take-aways from this workshop before I sign up for the next one, but feel confident that I would want to work with Mike and his team again.
