A great place for all levels! My friends and I are new players and have really enjoyed our experience with court rentals and lessons with Pascal. Booking court rentals and clinics online is a seamless experience. The facility is new, very clean and well organized. The viewing areas and bar are a nice touch. Renting gear is straightforward and affordable. Every staff member (coaches, front desk and cleaning crew) I've interacted with is extremely friendly and accommodating. I signed up for this squash gym thinking it would be a good experience, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The courts were constantly dirty, the lighting was terrible, and the equipment looked old and barely maintained. Half the time there were scheduling issues, and staff acted annoyed whenever anyone asked for help especially some blonde women at the front desk who desperately needs some Botox. The locker rooms smelled bad, and there never seemed to be enough space during busy hours. The whole gym also felt really unorganized, especially during tournaments and peak times. It was hard to find available courts, and communication from the staff was almost nonexistent. I've been to much better gyms that actually care about keeping the place clean and making members feel welcome. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone read more

One of the best spots to come play squash in the area without committing to a monthly membership. They offer a lot of different programs, clinics, leagues, ladders, and other competitive events to keep things interesting. From time to time, they get professional squash players to have an exhibition match. The facility consists of 8 courts, 2 of which are glass courts, but I personally do not like playing on those courts due to the color scheme and playing with a white ball in a dark background is tough to see. They have a bar next to the showcase glass court and the bartenders are mad chill. As I am new to the area, I did the round robin to meet new players around my skill level, which I think is the best way to meet and connect with other players. Pascal, the coach who supervises, does a really good job pairing players up and making sure you're not taking long rest. I also recommend signing up for the seasonal ladder and league, which are two other great way to meet other fellow squashers. Cory and Will both do an excellent job organizing and coordinating. read more

What a unique date spot! I went on a date with someone to this venue and was absolutely impressed. Both of us had zero clue on how to play squash. The attendant at the desk was very nice and friendly. The location provides the racquets for a fee and also has towels for a fee. The courts are super hip, with painted walls and cool airconditioning. At a point, my partner and I decided we really needed someone to explain to us about the rules. The attendant explained the game to us pretty well! After 20 minutes of playing, we were starting to run around and burn serious calories! Oh, I forgot to mention that this awesome squash club has a bar, a gym and sells clothing! I recommend this spot to anyone in D.C. and I will be coming back to play again soon! read more

This place is a gem in the city! Such a great workout and the facility is so clean and the staff is so helpful. I came with a friend to play a quick round and even during the pandemic everything was easy to navigate and they have great cleaning procedures in place. The front desk was helpful and we had a drink at the cafe afterwards - the bar staff was very attentive and the smoothies so fresh! After we ordered a mimosa and a whiskey sour - the drinks were strong and delicious. Can't wait to come back! read more

I had no idea what to expect from this place, but man was I impressed! I came here on a weeknight for a design event and immediately had no idea where I was going but alas they labeled the correct floor in the elevator! (Ironically enough I was there for a wayfinding event) Once up there, the space is GORGEOUS. There's a bar area with a few tables, surrounded by tall windows, with a bunch of squash courts in the back. I did not get a chance to play squash (mostly hung out in the main bar area), but everyone who was playing looked to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. They have an on-site cafe called Upper West Side Cafe. The food was so good that I seriously thought it was catered. Brussels sprout, calamari, salmon, some other delicious fish, hush puppies, & meatballs galore. Everything tasted fresh and cooked to perfection. I couldn't find anything not to like :) I went for my first time last week. -Booking was easy through their website. -Staff was friendly and let us try new rackets and gave us a white ball to use because the court was blue -The new courts and atmosphere were great! (Clean and sparkling) I think it's great to have a pay as you go space because the younger generation seems to be done with country clubs, as there seems to be so much to do elsewhere. Looking forward to going back... hope the consistency is there. read more

Poorly behaved owner. Btw, I'm giving update. You never called like you said you did. So the business owner response below is a lie. Don't go here!!!! My husband and I really enjoyed this place with its excellent courts. Until we got scheduled after the owner. He and several women were playing, which was fine. But they stayed over their time and cut into mine. I had no idea it was the owner but I was polite about it. The group stayed around for an uncomfortably long time. They actually refused to move when two different people tried to go to the bathroom. I looked back at them and they finally left. A few minutes later I was informed by an employee that I needed different shoes. When pressed the employee was polite, and said the owner had complained. It all made sense. Ironically, he did not even follow his own rules. Neither he nor his group of women wore protective glasses. The bottom line is I left early, dissatisfied, and never wanting to go back. If the owner had been polite and asked me directly I would have bought a pair of shoes. I guess it is one of those places the owner uses as his personal clubhouse. I'm not going back. I paid money for fun and sport and I got passive aggressive response. read more

This is more than a little insulting. You didn't call me or my wife to apologize . After I was uncomfortable at how another patron who I later found out was the owner was staring at my wife, an employee had the gall to tell me I was wearing marking shoes. I've played squash for decades. I let the employee inspect my shoes. They were non marking--he admitted it. Then he told me the man (who was not wearing eye protection)--a bedrock squash rule and who was staring at my wife was the owner and there wasn't much he could do. I told him I didn't blame him. But we had to leave--my wife in tears. read more

So far so great. I've been playing squash here for just one week (after not playing for 30-ish years). Everyone I've met or interacted with so far has been very friendly and helpful. The 3 lessons I've taken have been great. And the food I've had has been excellent, with great service. Also, the courts and other facilities are perfect. I highly recommend Squash on Fire. I came to Squas on fire once to play! and I really love the facilities! Everythins clean and new. You can rent a racquet and a ball there if you need one for $10 which is amazing for people who just want to try and see if they like it or not. The changing rooms are small but there are showers with soap and everything. The only suggestion I have is that it could be good to try to partner people through social plays or events who don't have a partner to play with, for the rest I really love it! read more

I was very excited to be invited to lunch with my meetup group. I had never visited this restaurant before but my friends said it was a great place. They were absolutely correct, the food was delicious, the interior was flooded with natural light and the staff was very attentive and nice. There was also a street view from the seat at my table. The atmosphere was different than most restaurants. There was actually sports at the sports bar. It was awesome. The sights, senses and sounds made for a very entertaining experience while enjoying a very welcoming priced lunch. I expect I will be returning to dine there again soon. Really nice facilities, but round robins are really disorganized - for 30 dollars I would expect that there would be some effort put into the pairings and making sure everyone has similar playing time, but you end up not playing for long stretches of time or being paired up with the same person again and again read more

I guess it all depends on the trainer you get. In my case I didn't feel welcome at all. I was paying good money and I felt that they would rather not have me there. I took the message and won't go again. read more

Beautiful facility in a great location! What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! The only issue is the general manager who is unpleasant, curt, and pretentious. I'd recommend coming here but advise that you steer clear of any interactions with the GM who sits around with a scornful eye! read more
