The east side needs more vegan options open during the week. I decided to give Squash a try because I heard rave reviews. I really wanted to like this place so bad. The owner was so kind. Sadly the food was a big miss. I ordered the mushroom and onion burger and a side of Mac. Plot twist the burger seemed like a steamed burger, had canned mushrooms and absolutely no onions on it. Disappointing to say in the least. It was served with ruffles potato chips. It was so bad. I didn't even finish the other half it went in the trash. The mac was mediocre. Perfectly cooked macaronis but the cheese sauce was lacking in flavor. I had to doctor it up with spices. I don't know if the food was bad due in part to it being a makeshift kitchen but lots of improvement needs to be made here. read more

This Illy Philly was so excited to have the opportunity to go to Squash The Beef in Cleveland. Unfortunately we arrived about 20 minutes before they closed so they didn't have their Mac & Cheese or the Philly Chicken but that was ok. I ordered the Bacon Burger with Fries/ CCheese & Jackfuit along with a Peach Mango & a Kale LemonLemonade and I was not disappointed. Tried their vegan BBQ jackfruit, collard greens, and Mac and cheese buritto at the Senior Dog sanctuary event today in Brecksville reservation. We really enjoyed that the buritto was large and filling. The macaroni and cheese dominate the flavor profile, which was fine. The buritto included some potato chips as a side for $12. A fairly reasonable price in today's restaurant scene. We certainly plan to try their comfort burger and fries sometime as well. read more

Was surprised in the middle of a catered BBQ lunch from another restaurant sat a beautiful meat loaf. The slice I had was delectable, the sauce and char on the edges was to die for. Was told afterwards that it was vegan from Squash the Beef! I never would have noticed the difference. In hindsight, it crumbled just a bit, but I don't ever mind that. Just take that fork and scoop up every morsel. I could become a vegan if my food was prepared like that day after day. Delicious! read more

On to the restaurant. The owner, who could not have been any friendlier, greeted us on arrival and patiently waited while we studied the menu. We finally decided to order just about everything. We had come to try the weekly special - wings - and ordered one of all three kinds. The sauces were magical, the wings were on point, and we loved the mac n' cheese (with an order of jackfruit on the side.) But - and I mean this with all my heart - I have never had a better burger than the Comfort Burger - period. In my life. Spicy, juicy, great texture, and tantalizing taste. A vegan comfort food dream come true with genuine passion and big flavor! They offer preorders, take-out, have pop-ups at other local businesses, and offer an array of vegan catering. Once I investigated the menus, I was honestly hooked before even trying it. Normally, I don't like to set my expectations so high, but something about their social media and reviews gave me a warm feeling. We decided to try out the Taco Tuesday menu; not only were my big expectations met, they were exceeded! We were kindly greeted at our car with a smile when we showed up.
