I've always been able to bring in a cup of ice water, but today, as soon as I walked through the gate, a very rude teenage employee stopped me and required me to pour it out before I could enter. It wasn't alcohol, soda, or any other drink--it was plain ice water. What makes this even more frustrating is that the aquatic center provides free drinking water inside. If guests can already get free water, I don't understand the purpose of making someone dump out perfectly good water at the entrance. It feels wasteful and unnecessary. I understand that facilities have rules, but they should make sense and be enforced with courtesy. The interaction was unfriendly and left a very negative first impression. After years of enjoying this pool, it's disappointing to see customer service and common sense take a back seat.

This park has four swings, two spider circle swings, monkey bars, rings, small jungle gym, slide, and half court basketball court. There is a green space to throw a ball or have a picnic. The park was funded by meals hosted at the Beard and Lady Inn which came from Chester locals and friends of Chester. The park is surrounded by the Boston Mountains in the Ozarks and just off the main highway. It's worth taking a trip to Chester to eat, sleep, hike, swim, climb, side by side, gravel bike ride, or just enjoy the parks.

We were a non-hunting party of 4 adults and 4 kids. We couldn't have been more pleased with our…read moreadventures at HMHR! From bison to elk to deer to a zebra! We saw it all. The staff at HMHR were amazing and took care of everything for us. We got great tours (thanks for Ty and Mikah) in the side-by-sides across the expansive property, discovering far more wildlife than we could have anticipated. This experience was a lot like Yellowstone, but without the crowds. We even saw a bear and two cubs on our drive to the ranch! We roasted hot dogs by the lakeside and ate while watching elk cool off in the lake. We were treated to wonderful sunsets, and great backgrounds for updated family pictures. We relaxed in the hammock and caught some zzzs in the comfortable lodge. The accommodations were excellent, clean and included every creature comfort of home. The kids were enthralled by the many deer and elk skulls and artwork in the lodge. One of our party has a daily swimming ritual, which he continued in the lake each morning. We didn't test the fishing waters too much but had a couple of hard hits from some bass in the lakes and ponds. That alone was enough excitement and a little relief that we wouldn't have to clean and cook fish to eat. For the kids, the highlight was the many wild pig communities we encountered on our tour. So many little piggies. We must have seen a couple hundred pigs across the property. Be sure to get to the highest mountains to catch the expansive views of the beautiful countryside. I don't have a lot of experience in Oklahoma, but the countryside was not what I was expecting. So varied and beautiful! Many thanks to the entire HMHR team!
