Walking trail located close to the marina

This is hands down one of the cleanest state parks I have ever been to! The staff are super friendly and there is a ranger patrolling regularly! Things to do are: hike many beautiful trails, fish on the lake or from the shore, rent a boat and my favorite the paddle boats! The paddle boat was $10 an hour and so easy and fun for my husband and I. There are local restaurants close by like the pizza den and a short trip to Van Buren ( 20 minutes or so ) and every boutique and shopping place you could desire is close by. Deer were present every morning and every night all throughout the park, so have your camera ready! The park doesn't allow swimming in the lake but they have a beautiful pool and splash pad for use! We will travel here again! The waterfall was barely present due to years of drought but still a beautiful hike to the accessible area.

We visited the state park over the fourth of July weekend (which was a bit stormy, and during the height of COVID). We stayed in one of the cabins on property, which was a great experience! Few highlights below of the cabin, trails, visitor's center facility and lake. Cabins: I thought the cabins were great. We stayed in one of the single bedroom cabins, which had a big king sized bed (I think the couch pulled out too), a large bathroom, full sized fridge/freezer, kitchen stocked with pots, silverware, plates, cups, etc. A little more on the kitchen (as we brought all of our food with us) - there were cleaning supplies and a dishwasher, along with a roll of paper towels. There was also a coffee pot and some pre-packaged coffee - yay! Inside, there was a 6-person dining room table, and another 6-person table on the covered back porch. Down the stairs off that back deck, there was a charcoal grill and a picnic table. Check-in to the rooms was super easy - you can do a touchless check-in, using a 4-digit code to digitally unlock the cabin door. We could see the back deck of our neighbors, but didn't actually see another person around the cabins that weekend (and they were fully booked). Trails: There were several trails available - including the trailhead of the Ozark Highlands Trail. We walked the short trail from the cabins to the visitors center a few times, and ventured out on the OHT for a few miles as well (we saw more armadillos than people, but also saw a rather large snake too, so keep your eyes open!). The trails were well marked and very manageable to traverse. Visitor's Center/Pool: There were a few storms that weekend - but very little rain! We learned that the pool closes for 30 minutes each time they hear thunder, so even though we made multiple attempts to visit the pool, were unsuccessful in ever entering the facility. The need for safety is good, but it was frustrating when the storms weren't in our area. Masks were required in the visitor's center, and water fountains were not turned on (all COVID related). Lake: This lake is not a swimming lake, so if that's important to you, look elsewhere! But, the plus side of that is that the lake (even on the July 4th weekend) was very lightly trafficked with only a few fishing boats out on the lake - no big groups of people partying or floating in the lake. We were able to rent some kayaks from the marina area, which was an easy experience and it was fun to be able to navigate some of the small coves around the lake, checking out the scenery around the lake (lots of trees in the water)

Very clean camping area. The only drawback is that there is no view of the lake from any campsites.

We hike, bike, float, and off road and this place is prime for river floats and off roading. One of the most beautiful waterfall hikes (Devils Den) is right up the road as well. The owners are incredibly nice and welcoming. There is a mile of river front where you can camp (tents, vans, small trailers) and plenty of large RV spots in the main area (50 ft from water). Oh and the owner brings her kangaroo on Saturdays who is so friendly and can be pet. If you need a shuttle for your float the owner can help you out (spots to float 15, 8 or 3 miles) and bring your ATV bc there is a ton of trails on the property. All the campers have been really nice and respectful of quiet hours too.

The RV campground is right next to the mulberry river, and has a very peaceful vibe; it feels like camping in the forest. All hook ups were in good condition; electrical was new, and the campground was clean. There are a lot of nearby nature activities - kayaking, off roading, hiking, etc., and our kids had a blast playing on the river bank. The owners are very warm and genuine, and made us feel like family. We highly recommend this RV site if you ever find yourself in Arkansas.

We saw a lot of turtles swimming or sun bathing and the kids loved that! The path itself was nice and everyone walking or biking seemed friendly and things were cleaner than my initial impression. I wouldn't swim in this lake, but there were people fishing and that seemed fun and it was a lovely 2 mile easy walk. It felt safe, too. Good for families and pretty views!!

They had a few walking bridges and a nice section by the parking lot with splash areas. The lake was much larger than I thought and had a large paved trail around it all. It was 1.8 miles total with some sections in the direct sun and some uphill so be prepared. There were a few benches and stops to rest on the trail but the only bathrooms were in the front. There were a lot of of people fishing and many concrete docks to walk out on which I thought was a great feature. I did see a lot of garbage in the water and ground and not enough trash cans for sure. Also a lot of goose poop but I guess that happens. We saw many birds, turtles, and fish which my kids liked a lot! I do recommend checking this nice lake out for fishing, nature exploring, or a nice walk.

If you're coming to Natural Falls for barbecuing, picnicking, short hiking, lounging around and camping...then this park is for you. I was scrolling through Google Maps and discovered a photo that looked intriguing. It was a picture of a 77 foot plunging waterfall among a scenic backdrop known as Ozark Springs. This Ozark Springs waterfall is the #1 top highlight at the park. The rest of the activities (I believe) are side compliments. So...if you're passing through West Siloam Springs, it could be worthwhile to check out Ozark Springs, and it doesn't take long to do. The trails map says 45 minutes, but it can be finished in less. The walk to the falls is half a mile at the most. You can find Ozark Springs along the Dripping Springs Trail. There are two parts to capturing views. First is from an overlook point high above. After completing this lookout spot, then it's 47 steps down to the bottom. The base of Ozark Falls has a boardwalk pathway leading you in front of the waterfall. I was tempted to step off the boardwalk to avoid the hand railing when taking pictures, but that wasn't not allowed. Also unfortunately, they don't permit swimming in the pool that Ozark Falls splashes into. But the waters appeared refreshing. You can connect Dripping Springs Trail with Ghost Coon Trail to combine two hikes in one. Or otherwise you can return to the Dripping Springs Trailhead and either choose another pathway or hang out, have lunch and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. There are a few other trails you can consider, but they're nothing dramatic. - Fox Den Trail - 1.5 miles to a "rock overhang and cavern area". - Bear Trail - hardly a hike but leads to Ozark Springs and intersects with Dripping Springs Trail. - Pine Ridge Trail - 3/4th's of a mile that navigates the perimeter of Natural Falls Park. It's $10 entrance fee for a day pass. You can pay at the Visitor Center. Plus inside the VC, you can purchase souvenirs from a small selection of items or buy snacks and drinks if you haven't arrived prepared. I noticed they have a lot of space for camping. Although I didn't spend a night here, the conditions for sleeping outdoors looked inviting. Btw...while walking along Ghost Coon Trail, I passed by these Yurts, or I'd describe them as huts accommodative for "glamping" or glorified camping. It's like upscale camping staying in tent - cabins. There may have been 5 - 6 yurts located beside the grass edge of the forest and pleasant looking for enjoying the great outdoors. Overall, Natural Falls State Park has a quiet setting and is fine for taking a few hours to breathe in fresh air, especially if you're in no hurry. Although I wanted more challenging hiking trails and activities to keep me occupied, I was okay with taking a lazy day to appreciate nature.
