Their large, air-conditioned main hall seats hundreds, while a massive outside tent offers covered festival space in their parking lot. A makeshift midway runs between the two, lined with food, clothing, jewelry and artwork vendors. We chose to dine in the main hall, which was set up cafeteria-style, with two separate service lines. The menu included a nice variety of Greek specialties, such as seasoned, roasted chicken, braised lamb shank, gyros, fish, moussaka, stuffed grape leaves and Grecian seasoned meatballs, accompanied by an a la carte selection of side dishes and beverages. Greek beers and wines were also available. The dessert area offers quick boxed baklava, but take time to walk through and linger over the divine selection of over a dozen varieties of sticky, fruity, chocolaty, honey-nutty homemade Greek pastries. Their volunteers are more than happy to help you make your selections. This is the real deal, if you appreciate authentic Hellenic cuisine and culture. Both indoor and outdoor areas featured live bands during the evening, with a large group of young adults engaged in a lively line dance outside. Parking is tight, but they have an overflow lot nearby with shuttle service all evening. Major credit cards accepted in the main dining hall, along with most of the vendors. Delicious food, awesome desserts, great entertainment and a fabulous venue combined to make for a wonderfully pleasant evening.

The church is big with the main hall fitting about 350 people. Journey Church is a Christian non-denominational church with 3 locations. The first location is in Fairview Park. I enjoyed visiting the Avon location for church. I was greeted upon entering, then I went to the complimentary tea/coffee station and poured myself a cup of tea, then I went into the sanctuary to find a seat. The 12:30pm service that I attended was a great experience. Pastor Phil spoke with enthusiasm and gave Biblical examples. The praise and worship team played lively music. If you're looking for a church, you should visit Journey Church in Avon. It felt as though the women were attempting to sing louder than one another. Worship is for the Glorification of Christ and not a place for showmanship or stardom. Overall, I like the church; however, the loudness of the singing is a little hard to take. Just wanted to close out on a positive note. Ladies, you have beautiful voices and I wasn't meaning to imply anything different. I just want us to be mindful of those in the audience and who they are trying to connect with during worship. When you sing or play an instrument too loudly during worship, it comes across as a rock concert with Christian music.

It was my…read morefirst time ever attending this church and going to a Latin Mass for that matter and I was truly in awe of the beauty, sacredness, and reverence that was portrayed; I never experienced anything like this before; it was beyond words. A little bit of background on why I decided to attend this church and Mass with my two friends -- we watched this documentary (https://latinmass.com/watch) as part of a group I'm in. In my entire life, I never thought to attend a Latin Mass as I was more accustomed to the one I grew up with. Before watching the video, my assumptions and personal vendettas (if you will) about not going to a Latin Mass actually prevented me from going; one could say it was Satan/his demons influencing me to not go, especially given how I wept during the consecration as the priest lifted up the host (which again, has never happened to me before). In reflecting on that video and seeing what the Latin Mass actually demonstrated was beyond what I can even put into words. I couldn't believe how much the Mass was in alignment with the tradition and teaching of the Church, which goes back to the reverence and devotion we're called to. There are so many clear things that I see now that the Latin Mass gets right that should be more clear in the Mass I am accustomed to. The things that really stuck out to me the most at this Mass, which also relates back to the video, was the fact: -- The Mass isn't about me -- it's about God. The priest, in Persona Christi, is clearly offering the Mass to God the Father on behalf of all of us there present. -- The sacredness, holiness, and silence given and portrayed through the Liturgy is exactly what God asks for; and that goes back Scripturally, even to the Old Testament. -- It was clear that I entered into the Kingdom of God when I was present there; it was like time didn't matter anymore; which is exactly what the Mass should do. I am so grateful for St. Rocco, which has such a beautiful church and wonderful priests who could help me see what God willed for us to experience--Heaven on earth through the Holy Mass.
