I was early for the scheduled mass a The confession booth was inviting so was able to placed my confession before the mass. I have been going to St Agnes Catherdal for over 25 years since I live in the area My 3rd child was baptized here All my 3 kids were confirmed here All 3 kids took religion classes here I attend the morning mass 1-2 times a week before going to work It's a great place to worship They have a great big pipe organ Acoustics is great not eerie or annoying It has recently been thoroughly renovated inside and out and it looks great post renovation. Very clean and well executed I find the church to be a very comforting and consoling place especially when I'm lacking or having short comings about my faith The holy water bowls are well maintained and always clean It's rated 5 stars and highly recommended if you are a hard core or so-so catholic read more

Although father Bill is wonderful, they need to fire their wedding coordinator. I was charged a mandatory "donation" of $950 dollars to have my wedding here as a non parishioner to be yelled at on my wedding day! I was late for the ceremony as I'm sure most brides are. When I stepped out of the limo the woman started screaming at me from the stairs. The limo driver actually warned me before I got out that she does this to everyone! I paid almost 1k to have my wedding here. How dare you scream at me and my mother on my wedding day! My mother put her b her place very quickly and let her know that she was ruining the happiest day of my life and to stop being nasty. After some arguing she finally stopped. Fire this woman. She is horrible. read more

From the outside, St Agnes looks like a grand castle and a massive cathedral you would find in Italy. I love how it has a lot of space around it and you can see it unobstructed from the sides and front. My cousin was baptized here and I have to say it was very clean and tranquil for babies. The stained glass was plentiful, but a bit to far up and difficult to really study and enjoy. Its also in a very nice neighborhood and parking was easy to find. read more

I was at St. Agnes last Friday night to hear the Hofstra University Chorale fall concert. Little did I know when I set out for Long Island early that afternoon that news of the Paris attacks would break while I was driving up. When I arrived at St. Agnes I was torn up and needed something to soothe my soul. Hearing beautiful sacred music in a soaring cathedral (and watching my son and his friends sing their hearts out) was just what I needed. St. Agnes apparently has an active public music program, and that is a good thing because a holy space that makes music sound this good should be celebrated and cherished and listened to by anyone who can get the chance. It's a beautiful place to hear beautiful music. I'm not Catholic, but I cannot imagine a better place to have looked that evening for comfort and redemption in the wake of such a tragedy. read more
