The seating is auditorium/theatre seating, it isn't posh but I still like it. The sanctuary of the church is on the simple side, but I like that. There are bathrooms downstairs where the nursery is, and one handicap bathroom upstairs. David Vilceus is the new pastor of the church, he always gives a great message, he's very friendly and his family is great. There's a 6 PM service and an 11 AM service as well as an adult Sunday School at 9:45 AM. I haven't been to the Sunday School yet, I alternate between the 11 AM service and 6 PM service depending on if it's a Sunday I am working or not. This a great church, so far I've been happy here.

I remember going to religious ed classes in the adjoining school. The school is large and could use a little renovating itself. I was surprised they didn't put a family room in the back of the church like a lot of them do nowadays. I remember going to a different church when I was little and if I made noise my mom or dad would take me to the room so I and the other fidgeting kids, wouldn't disrupt service. Notre Dame doesn't have that. The church hosts blood drives every so often which is great, except that the last few times I haven't met the mark on donating. Definitely call them if you're interested and see what other drives they may have,

That's also a thing of the past. It was a revenue generator and community builder. Oh don't worry they'll just beg for money from you the parishioner instead. There is no sense of community at this church it's the exact opposite. I will no longer tithe nor visit.

I love the whole team and am really looking forward to seeing the church family grow. It's a newer church, so it's relatively small, but I'm excited to be even a tiny part of the beginning of something incredible happening in Babylon. Everyone is new, so it's a very disarming experience when we first attend a service. All of the services are also published on Apple podcasts which I love! I've shared many of them with friends near and far. They also love Lou's messages.

I attended mass today and they don't play! Mass was suppose to start at 8:30 and I got there at…read more8;30 and they already started so being late isn't in their schedule!! I like and dislike that because if your in time you still late because they started early! Lesson learn to come earlier than start time!! The church is clean and beautiful!! It's not old and run down which is super! They up keep it. The rectory & the school is right next door to the church! There is a funeral home right across the street too. The church is on Brookville Rd and 138th Ave that can't be missed. No parking lot that I saw. Only street parking so come early to find parking! Good service with a priest I understood what he was saying and I could follow along!!

6/21/25. St. Markella Greek Festival, Wantagh, LI. It was a beautiful day, so it was perfect to be…read moreoutside, and have a little lunch. According to their flyer, the fair started at 12. However, when I arrived after 1 PM, they were still setting up, lots of empty tables/booths. I did not go for the rides, but it appeared that not one person was on that side. I wanted a Gyro ($12), fries ($5) and Pastitsio ($20) but the latter wasn't going to be ready until later on that day. For dessert I ordered loukoumades (steep price of $20) and galaktoboureko ($7). As we were leaving, some of the games/booths were being set up. The volunteers were very nice, but the "fair" itself was very disappointing.
