Parkour, also known as Freerunning, is a type of urban gymnastics that involves using creative freedom to move through spaces and over objects at ground level. Parkour has been labelled a daredevil activity. However, the 'Parkour gym sessions' on offer are conducted in a controlled environment under the supervision of coaches at ground level.
Parkour gym session currently run as follows:
Ø Tuesday evenings at Francis Bacon School , Drakes Drive , St Albans , AL1 5AR .
5pm-6:30pm for under 12s
6:30pm-8:30pm for over 12s
Ø Thursday evening at St Georges School, Sun Lane, Harpenden , AL5 4TD .
5pm-6:30pm for under 12s
6:30pm-8:00pm for over 12s
The sessions cost £5 (Thursday over 12s sessions £4), and all the money raised will go straight back into the running of the club. Each participant will need to get a consent form signed by their parent/guardian if they are under 18 and can be picked up from the sessions.
