I was blown away by both the facilities, the amazing staff, and the beautiful families & the love in everything they do at RMH. From the amazing Quilt Room where each child and/or sibling gets to select a handmade quilt to keep forever to the "Magic Room" which was like a mini Toys R Us for special occasions, celebrations, and cheering up kind of days. The only requirement for residents to apply is to live more than 45 minutes away and have a child under the age of 18 being treated at the hospital. There is no time limit - they are welcome to stay until the child is discharged. There is underground parking, a gym, play rooms, media room, family style professional kitchens... The list goes on and on. Every inch of the RMH is filled with love. I feel privileged and honored to have served so many wonderful families supper tonight.

This facility is wonderful for families who are in Edmonton because their children need medical attention and who need accommodation for their stays. Each apartment within the house has many amenities, there are sitting rooms for socializing, rooms for the children to play and enjoy themselves and of course the Home for dinner program that prepares home cooked meals for the families to enjoy. I always enjoy cooking here and/or doing any other tasks that the house needs and while the home gets a lot of organizations in (particularly on the weekends) to do these tasks, all the help is very much appreciated and follows food safety and other important standards. This is incredibly important given the nature of the families' stays in this facility.

I've definitely belonged to or lived in the area of other community leagues in the past, and this one has so many benefits that are wonderful for the folks in the community where I live. I adore the events that they host, the Imagination Library books my kid gets, and of course the hall is great for bookings. The playground here is wonderful (along with the splashpad). We've enjoyed live music, hot dogs, crafts, science fun, food, beverages, and other community gatherings as part of the community league as well as some take home activities like gingerbread house building contests too! Oh and Santa visited in the neighbourhood as part of a parade which was lovely for the kid! I'm so very happy that we made the decision to join our local community league and actually attend/participate in activities/events etc.

Since joining, I've discovered so many more awesome benefits to being a part of the community! From free skating, free swimming, discounts at a local restaurant, a free coffee once a month, free ski day pass, and loads of fitness classes, community garden program and more. Seriously, this is ace and I feel like I'm adulting real hard right now. Back to the hall though... 4 hours rental is only $80 if you are a member ($110 for non-members, it's a good saving). I dealt with Molly for all viewing, questions and the booking process. She was awesome and always got back to me the same day. She helped me out when I desperately needed the room dimensions, so I could book a bouncy castle for the kids party I was hosting. We used a secure website to pay the fees and on the day used credit for damage deposit. She met me at the hall an hour and a half before the party instead of the usual one hour, which was great as that extra half hour really helped me prep. Clean up is pretty standard, plus sweep and mop before you go. All tables and chairs are included in rental fee. It's a great space and even had a fully working kitchen to use for events and a hatch if you want to create a bar area. Apparently, it seats up to 65 people and standing it must be between 80-100. A great option for events or parties when you don't want to wreck your house. WINNING!

This is a very well organized and very clean work place. The staff on site were helpful, kind and patient for a first time volunteer. I will be returning to help out at THE EDMONTON FOOD BANK. PS-The Edmonton FOOD BANK needs egg cartons. Don't chuck them out or recycle them. You can drop them at a local grocery store that has the FOOD BANK boxes ,or just bring them to the food bank.

His church divides the city into cell groups, and each groups meets in a different location, usually a hall of some kind. This was the west end meeting. The hall is a very straight-forward facility with a large meeting area, washrooms, a kitchen, and is situated on a small park. There is ample parking, and the main area seated around 100 people. The hall can be rented out for functions and also hosts community events. If you need to host an event in the west end and need a hall, it is definitely worth checking out to get current rates and details.

The key word being "love"…read more There is a lot of love at this place and I have always felt that they are providing more than the basic necessities for my kids; they also provide them with love and nurturing. We attempted to move my younger child to a different location when our older child aged out of Cambridge ... we only lasted 3 weeks until we moved him back to Cambridge. For us Cambridge is worth every penny and every minute extra that it takes us to do two drop offs. What is also notable about Cambridge is its consistency. They have very little staff turnover. It is mostly the same group of staff as it was 5 years ago when we started there. There is also consistency in the children present. While families do come and go, for the most part both of my kids have had a very consistent group of kids throughout their time at Cambridge, in other words there are a lot of other families who are happy here too!

It's a great organization to donate too and if you visit the website you can see that they hope to make 65 wishes come true this year. That can't be an easy task at all but they work extremely hard to try and make it happened. I suggest that at the very least you visit the website and see how you can help.

Every day they work to make dreams come true - whether it's sending a child and their family to Disney Land, giving them the thrill of meeting their favorite celebrity or taking an adventure they've always wanted to go on. Johnson has been part of hundreds of wishes, and when I met him he was involved in sponsoring a Home Makeover for a family with nine adoptive kids who risked losing them if they didn't pass new licensing standards put in place by the government. Eldon made some calls to people who made some calls to people and soon they had over 40 companies in Edmonton willing to help renovate the home. We live in a culture that turns a blind eye to suffering every day. If you want to be touched by magic, the Make-a-wish Foundation is a great place to volunteer or sponsor.

Came here on the weekend just doing some thrifting. This was the first time I have been to this…read morethrift store. And despite being a smaller location, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were super friendly and helpful. And there is parking in front which is always a plus. I found one of those yellow/brown glass pots! These are so amazing and they're so hard to find. It was in really good shape and a great deal, only $10. I also found a gorgeous crystal snack tray with 4 sections, it was like $4! Such a great deal! I will definitely keep this place in my back pocket for a rainy day.

The toddler really enjoyed having me read all the sacred teachings on the signs surrounding the park. I only wish there had been even more Indigenous content to enjoy. The playground equipment itself was in excellent shape and there was a lot to interact with. Surprisingly most of the playground equipment intended for 5-12 year olds was perfectly accessible to a younger (but active) child. The equipment for 2-4 year olds was also used by many ages of children upon our visit. I also appreciated the fact that this area seemed to be a good community gathering place in general with lots of adults nearby. With a YMCA facility here, and great architecture, this seems like a wonderful place to have in the neighbourhood. The kid was very happy to finally visit a playground that had been seen multiple times via bus windows in the past.
