"Did you know," my dad starts to tell me in a hushed voice as we wait for mass to start. "Mamita got married here?"
I looked to him with barely hidden surprise, before looking around the dome-like church, before my gaze settled on to the center aisle... And easily imagined a much younger version of my Mamita, probably more than forty years back, walking down the aisle with a radiant grin on her mestiza face.
St. Andrew has been where we have been hearing mass ever since I moved to Makati, and by far, our favorite. I never really liked hearing mass at malls, because it's always so crowded and there are very noisy and rowdy mass goers.
Compared to that, St. Andrew is relatively peaceful, and most, if not all parishioners are always dressed respectfully and conduct themselves properly.
If I had one complaint, it would be that the airconditioning is sometimes too cold-- but would be easily rectified by moving away from the vents, or by wearing a jacket. read more
