This was my sisters school. It is linked to my secondary school, St. Bonaventures, as St. Angelas is the all girls version and mine was the all boys. For the sixth form, these 2 schools merge to form St. Angelas and St. Bonaventures Sixth Form Centre.
St. Angelas is one of the best schools in the and is constantly fighting St. Bonaventures for the best performing school in Newham. St. Angelas GCSE results for the last year are as follows:
GCSEs
They achieved fantastic GCSE results with 90.2% achieving 5 or more A* to C grades of which 79% including both English and Mathematics.
However, it is at the highest grades that they continue to improve with A* grades totalling 12.33% and combined with A grades the figure rises to 35.16%, a significant jump on last year.
As a Leading Edge School, their achievements and commitment to raising standards have long been recognised. They were also one of the first schools nationwide to be awarded specialist status (as a Technology College). Staff development and training programmes continue to keep their teachers motivated and well informed. They also benefit from ongoing investment in facilities and teaching resources.
Despite their remarkable record of achievement, students come from a variety of backgrounds and academic starting points. The school population reflects the Catholic population of the borough, which is largely Afro-Caribbean, African, Filipino and white. 70% of school population are from ethnic minorities.
