Their website clearly says they offer solar panel installation loans and they are on the EnergySage website list of lenders so I applied online. They did a hard pull of my credit and then called me to say that they don't offer solar loans anymore. I asked if they would remove the inquiry from my credit report and they said no. I will tell everyone I know to never do business with this bank. My FICO scores are 820+ with AGI $500k+. What a stupid hill for them to die on.

I took away a couple stars, however, for the pushy behavior of the teller who helped me. Maybe her name was Chaira? She harassed the woman in front of me with offers of opening a checking account and moving her business account to Webster. The woman was obviously uncomfortable and the conversation lasted several minutes. Then it was my turn to be forced into a conversation I didn't want to be a part of, fending off offers for additional accounts, free accounts and then, a meeting with the branch manager. She really needs to tone it down a bit. Really detracted from my visit today.

My experience is instructive: I had been a good customer for six years, but because of a confluence of events, PayPal pulled money out of my account right before three checks came in to clear. That was right before a holiday, and Citizens was closing early even though the day before the holiday was not a holiday in itself (they shouldn't have done that). As a consequence, I couldn't get money into the bank to cover the checks. The checks then came in to clear in the order of smallest to largest, and I should have been charged one $39 overdraft fee; but Citizens re-ordered the withdrawals from largest to smallest so that I was charged three fees. This is what I mean by "trickery". Only the greediest banks use tricks like that to raise money from their customers. If you are looking for a bank, you would be better off at a savings bank or credit union.

My dad passed away in March 2017. After being appointed a lawful person to handle my dad's affairs from the RI probate court (where my dad lived), I am still denied access to my dad's money. There is less than $4000 and I need it to bury him. The MA probate court and 4 lawyers that I spoke with say they that I took the proper steps according to the law and that they should allow me access. After being protected by a statute in Massachusetts (https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXXII/Chapter167D/Section12) and the RI probate courts decision, they want me to sign an affidavit. I have no problem with this, but they want me to pay for it and the only thing they can say is thatheir lawyer will only charge the amount of time it takes to write it up and he has no idea how long that will be, it may possibly cost $350.00!! They have dragged this out for two months AFTER I was granted by the court. Also Mr. Anderson from the bank lied to me. He said he was going on vacation until 7/17 and when I asked if a higher up could handle it, he said that person was on vacation too. I found out that person is not on vacation at all!! I am livid!! Entrapping me to pay money for a service THEY ARE CHOOSING me to do all the while being protected by the law twice over!!
