Both were very clean and fun. It's so nice that Running Springs is easy to get to compared to Big Bear which you'd have to drive through quite a bit of windy road (I get motion sickness). The best part for me and my group was the yummy food. I usually have a hard time eating at retreats (y'know...the processed Cisco stuff they serve in cafeterias that's so unappetizing and makes you gassy) but these were homemade food and delicious!!! Sluuurp. Our group finished every bite. Haha. Highly recommend this place. The owners are old couple and they were nice and accommodating to lend us their rice cooker when we forgot ours. ^_^; We took a walk to Downtown Running Springs (very small) then drove to Arrowhead. They have a detached chapel so we were able to have our main service in the chapel then split into groups. They do enforce quite hours after 10pm. We saw some deer in the morning which was very exciting. I didn't see it myself but supposedly there was a visitation from a bear at night. Yeeek! We cleaned out our cars as soon as we heard that. =P

Tucked way back in the mountains is a wonderful Church and preschool. The members are extremely…read morekind and very welcoming. Always eager to to say Good Morning and give a handshake. The Pastor's sermons seem to always start with a little joke or a funny story, and then he captivates you. The church also has amazing music and very talented members. Each year they put on "Broadway" shows, and funny pantomimes. Thankfully, there are 3 services you can attend. 8:00 which, sadly I've never been to because I have 2 kids and a husband who love to sleep in. The next service is the 9:30 which more geared towards families. They play upbeat music and they have Sunday school for the little ones, so as a parent you can enjoy your time of worship. And then there is the 11:00. This is more of the traditional church with hyms. I tried several churches on the mountain, but this one just seemed to have it all. Lots of friendly people, entertainment, kids programs. I have been coming to this church for a very long time. Both my kids went to the Preschool here. It's just a really fantastic church. Hopefully if you ever decide to move up here, or visit, or if you just wanna try a new church, definitely try this one.
