Each service begins and ends with a energetic set of contemporary Christian music with a lengthy, but contemporary lesson in between. There are also a few informal prayers. Since the services are full of attendees and don't have the typical 'passing of the peace' that requires you to move around greeting strangers, its a very approachable and enjoyable church to attend. I'm a frequent drop-in at this church, not a member. I'm an ELCA Lutheran and a member of a local ELCA church. However, sometimes I need to get my 'Christian jam' on. When I do, this is the place where I come for a contemporary Christian service. Despite the number of services offered, the church is always filled and friendly. While it lacks the ceremony (communion, creeds, etc.) I'm accustomed to, I appreciate the passion and level of activity that Woodlands offers. Three services every Sunday (8, 9:15, 10:30) filled to chapel and gym capacity. Plenty of weekday social groups and activities for all age levels. If you're new to the Stevens Point community, I can't imagine a better place for your family to meet others. Attire is casual and coffee is plentiful.

The sermon was biblically based and the pastor preached from the gospel of John. They had several children in attendance and that is always good to see because it means they are growing. The atmosphere was casual but some wore dresses, my husband wore shorts and I had capris but felt we were dressed just fine. I recommend this church if you are in the area for travel or looking for a new church.
