I left this school a few years ago, but I am still affected by the way I was treated as a child. I felt publicly shamed when I was suspended in front of my entire grade for things I did not do, under the cover of "Christian values." The faculty and staff were negligent in protecting me, and I later learned that many other students had similarly negative experiences. My child has attended St. Barnabas Episcopal School since kindergarten and absolutely thrives there. St. Barnabas checks all of the boxes - academically, spiritually, extra-curricular. It is a very loving and supportive environment with people who care and want to bring out the best in your child. I highly recommend. read more

Leadership is poor. Teachers are not empowered. Communication is atrocious. A Christian based education ought to be based in Christian principles such as telling the truth and treating others with dignity and respect. Don't expect that there. read more

I have been going to the school for eight years now and it has been a great experience during those eight years. I started in first grade, and when I went to the school, I was a little nervous, but when I met the teachers, they were very nice and I knew that I was comfortable and cared for by them and the staff and the teachers are nice and they care about the students. I would recommend this to any kid who's going into the grades at this school. somethings that they do at the school are t 1 do a fruit of the spirit every month 2 say the Lord's prayer at Mopening assembly every day 3 they have chapel services on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday 4 they always focus on safety 5 they have Christian Ed classes 6 they have lots of different athletics coach Teb, and Coach Bergman are wonderful. and this has been a great school for me and I hope it will be a great school for your students because I know that when you send your children to the school, you will know that they are in good hands and you as the parent will feel happy knowing that they are learning a lot at school now with the safe environment they always focus on safety and they have a loving environment where the teachers are always kind and they have a school song that they sing. Very disappointed in this school. Communication was sub-par, teachers unapproachable & it seems that scholarship kids are treated less than. They state they use a phonics curriculum, but then your kid shows up with public school Common Core reading homework. Bullying is also not dealt with correctly. I cannot in good conscience recommend this school. I gave it 2 stars, because the school is secure like a fortress. read more

This is a terrific school if you have a curious and high-achieving student! We have three children at St. Barnabas, even though we live 45 minutes away! They all qualified for gifted at the public schools, but we truly believe that they are getting a better education--morally and academically--at St. B. The amenities are wonderful, very up to date technologically. The campus is lovely and the classrooms are very nice. More than that, there are so many clubs and sports...from drama club, chess club and a leadership club to volleyball, basketball and flag football...my kids are very busy! The education is first class. My children who are old enough to take standardized tests have qualified to take the SAT and ACT early! They tested incredibly high on their standardized tests. Both have gone to Washington DC for a youth leadership program. One went to state (with four other St B students) for the Social Studies Fair. My youngest child (7) feels nothing but warmth and friendship from the older kids at school. He loves school!!! I love that my children's peers are trustworthy, kind, intelligent and focused! They are right at home--especially with a caring and supportive staff that holds them to the highest level and teaches them way above and beyond what you would expect for their respective grade levels. I know they will be totally prepared for anything that comes their way. read more
