They have a time of yummy food and fellowship before Sunday service. During the summer a Wednesday night picnic time in their outdoor shelter. Pastor Alan delivers a solid Biblical message weekly. Great time of praise and worship. I love that they have corporate prayer weekly as well during the service. I have met many wonderful people there. Please visit if you are in town.

(We were not having any success, though we visited several different churches.) We were so "spiritually hungry" and felt soooo totally blessed to find this GREAT CHURCH! We felt like God led us to this church to meet our need. Word of advice: GO EARLY! (There's only 1 service, at 10:30am.) There was standing room only and NO place left to park!! There was no one to direct traffic or help find parking spots. Especially as a first time visitor, it was rather awkward, but we figured it out! (They could use some organization in that regard.) We'll definitely be going back!

No one there was willing to lift a finger to help me. They start every service doing a group read of a statement beginning with, "Love is our doctrine..." So where's the love? It's in their words, but not in their actions. Don't expect the kind of support you would get from a church here. It's a closed group of aging seniors who do not practice what they preach.

We value diversity, equality, independence of thought, and a progressive approach. Like mainstream churches, we know how important it is to be a family of support to our members. We don't tell anyone what to believe, though. Instead we affirm the inherent worth and dignity of every person, and commit to acting in ways that express that. We are a small but growing congregation, with about 80 members. We have lots of kids and a strong religious education program. We are mostly lay-led, with a wonderfully effervescent ministry consultant who helps identify our needs and directions and presents some Sunday mornings. It reminded me of my childhood. The few people I had time to meet were very friendly. I especially liked the "fill-in" pastor who delivered a great message. The front office staff were very friendly, helpful, and offered suggestions and solutions for me to consider. Somehow the issue of parking in Boone came up in our conversation. We talked briefly about their parking lot on the corner of King and College streets and how difficult it must be to mange that area with so many tourists and students seeking parking during the church activities throughout the week. Thankfully I was able to park in their lot while I was seeking assistance, and staff offered suggestions for other free and pay parking alternatives in Boone. First impressions are important, and these folks were great to work with when I needed help and information.

I parked there for 30 minutes on a Friday afternoon to get physical therapy at health services and got towed. In just 30 minutes with hardly anyone there! I can't even get a campus parking pass since I have no classes on main campus so where am I supposed to park?? I guess this "morally upstanding" organization has nothing better to do than tow students cars who are trying to use health services at their university...
