There are members from all different ethnic backgrounds and cultures, all brought together every sabbath to worship God. The worship songs are joyous and lively, and the messages are always good and useful. This church holds a special place in my heart because when I and my closest friends were all married we prayed about starting a married couples Bible study. The members provided us with books and other material to help us work on building strong, lasting relationships with our life partners. Ron Tunis Sr. was a wonderful leader who kept us laughing and learning by always keeping things real, even sharing stories from his youth. That would have been more than enough for me, but they went further by bringing different pastors as guest leaders to give added perspective from those who have been down that road and have also counseled couples through times of struggle. During the time we held our couples bible study group, we formed lasting friendships, learned from the wisdom of many great men and women from the church, laughed and joked at the many things that we go through as we learn to be better partners for our loved ones, and grew as a family. I will always be thankful to All Nations for welcoming us into their family and believing in us enough to invest in our futures. May this church always be blessed as they continue to bless others.

I used to despise goody-goody Christians and wanted to stay as far away as possible. I wanted nothing to do with Churches because I thought they were evil and hypocritical. What I did not realize is that my heart was not open and I was the hypocrite. I was ignorant and did not know that a Christian should not judge or hate its neighbor. I did not read the Bible for myself in order to understand it myself, but figured what I got from church the 1x per yr I attended was good enough. That I did my part. Wrong! I never understood why my life was so empty and why I never felt satisfied. All the money, and all the designer clothes, and all the fancy dinners, trips, etc., felt good for that second, but when I got back to reality, my life was cold, empty, without purpose, and lonely. No matter what I had or how much I had, I wanted more and more because I thought that would make me happy. I was never happy. I was dragging my sins behind me and felt like I wanted to give up on life. It's been a while since I stepped foot into a church and it's not until 3 weeks ago that I became hungry for the word of God. I knew that I wanted and needed more. In order to receive all the blessings of what God is trying to tell us, we must open our hearts and accept him, otherwise what is the point? I decided to attend Moody Church one Sunday morning and I have to say that I was blown away. The message was strong, honest, and to the point. I felt as if the message was directed specifically for me. God, was speaking directly to me and told me to open my eyes because it was time. My perception completely changed the minute I open the Bible and started reading The New Testament. "Matthew" Everyone is welcomed here and no one will feel out of place. I don't like to say anything bad about any church but I have to tell the truth. I was always…read morepuzzled going here, but I was far from alone. I never felt the Holy Spirit was in this place. Oh the people and staff were warm and friendly but the preaching never said a word about hell. There is the name of some man on virtually every door that they iconolize for something or other. The preaching is geared to people are so worthy that's why God saved them. Another weird thing they believe Jesus took our place on the cross as a substitute for our sins. They are sly but they are followers of D.L. Moody a revivalist so they didn't encourage witnessing. Moody taught God's hand doesn't move because the Christians aren't sorry enough and aren't confessing their sins earnestly and often enough, with strong crying and shaking but when they do get real sorry for their sins revival will come and a lot of people will get saved. According to the New Covenant of Jesus Christ there isn't any condemnation to the people of God. We know the devil is the accuser of the brethren. This is essentially a cult cloaked as a church deceiving many. I pray they will repent and turn to the truth of the gospel. It's no secret read Moody's teachings on revival for yourself it's all online but hidden on their website. We can understand why they want to hide it. They do post what they believe but they are Moodyites followers of D.L. Moody

From the time I moved here nearly 40 years ago, they have acted as a comfort station for neighboring event attendees and host to numerous regular community groups. As a member of the Friday Night Wells Street Group, I am especially impressed with the efficient and caring way the Church has handled keeping its congregation and associated groups safe during the pandemic with necessary closures, while working very hard to ensure that all feel welcome and safe upon reopening. This Church is a true gem in our city, and I would encourage you to stop in!

This was the first one that I visited. I loved that people introduced themselves to me as I walked in the door and were quick to offer me coffee and conversation. I have stayed all of these years because it is a place that matches my values as a Progressive Christian and because the connections I have built are genuine and irreplaceable. If you are looking for a loving liberal community in Chicago, you can do no better than Church of the Three Crosses.

However, that is a very personal and spiritual matter so I'd encourage others to visit it since obviously others may come to a different conclusion. As far as my impressions of the church go I found the people to be VERY friendly and welcoming to me. Not all churches are this friendly so I found that to be refreshing. As far as the sermon goes it was Bible based and I did not hear anything that would raise any red flags with me. Pastor Ro seemed to have a good understanding of the Bible and I appreciated the fact that his sermon was based solely on the Bible and although that should be a given in any Christian church I'm not always convinced that's the case. I had a couple of questions and Pastor Ro was very willing to meet wit me during the week Since I was not member of his church I thought it was very nice of him to be willing to give up some of his free time to assist a visitor in understanding some points of the Bible that I had questions about. Even though my questions dealt with a subject that lots of preachers would have been judgmental on he was not judgmental in any way and helped to educate me on the points I was having trouble with so kudos to him. Another neat feature on their website is you can listen to some recent sermons from the church so that's another nice feature. The church is located very close to Chinatown and is just a short walk away from the Cermak/Chinatown Red Line stop so if you're riding public transportation it's really easy to get there.

Lots of gatherings- from small community bible study groups to cocktail hours after work to morning mommy meetings. "Dinners With Grace"- a monthly potluck hosted at someone's home is also a lot of fun. They also host an annual wine tasting event that all of my friends go to (and love)! Lots of foodies at this church =) Many young families- also some singles in their 20's, a few older folks. But mainly couples in their young/mid 30's with young kids. Plus, Sunday School offered every Sunday for the little ones! Come at 10am for coffee and increedddible muffins to socialize. Church is from 10:30-12ish. Free parking in the school lot- bonus!!

Christmas Eve evening service here is going to be a new tradition for me…read more Outside, we were blessed with a white Christmas. Inside the elegant church on the corner of Berteau and Christiana, the service was packed, drawing a diverse crowd of attendees from the neighborhood..attendees who looked like they've been attending the church for years, and knew each others' children. The church was festively decorated, and featured the right mix of baaaaah pageantry. Aaah.. the solemnity of a candlelit service and the mindful humility of the nativity scene. Real baaaah baby goats and Baby Jesus and all! What *more* could you ask for in a Christmas eve service? What I adored about the space was that behind the sermon platform, the rows of the choir stood on an elevated layer. This richly textured presentation gave your eyes alot to rest upon while you listened to sermon and songs. A holy Protestant Peter Greenaway type of layering. The service was framed as an "indoor carolling session," and gave the attendees ample opportunity to sing all of Christmas' greatest carol hits. "Silent Night, Holy Night" was saved as the last carol, and it was a beautiful experience to reconnect to all the years long ago I used to sing this song, as an erstwhile regular member of a congregation. Ever so meaningful. This time, this rendition in this experience dissolved the many years that I've been away from the song.
