Highly recommend if you want an in-depth education on becoming a nail tech. I did my research…read morearound the area and the reviews were honestly terrifying. I went for a tour and met the owner and literally signed up THAT day. This school focuses on education - theory (infection control, anatomy, application) AND practical (practicing manis, acrylic, pedis..etc) They ensure you will pass your state board, but not only that they set you up for success in the industry. When I called other schools in the area, they do only a tiny amount of education, then toss you out into a student salon with little supervision and training. That was not for me and I almost didnt even go to school. Elite Nail Institute focuses on ensuring you know exactly what you are doing before you even touch a nail! We practiced on each other (so performing services on your classmates) which takes away the fear of working on strangers when you are SO new. The location is very convenient too, right in between a dollar tree and Dierbergs (grocery store) and plenty of parking! When I started nail school, nails were my hobby, but now I truly see it as a lucrative career opportunity due to the schools focus on business skills. I was able to work full-time and attend class, it was difficult but if I can do it, honestly, anyone can! The students in my class have turned into life long friends, the class sizes are quite small which is nice too. I am so happy I found this school, and I thank the instructors for their time and dedication to us students. THANK YOU!!

I am leaving this review to share my personal experience with Alternative Beauty Academy and…read moreMichelle Luster. My experience with this school was extremely disappointing and stressful. During my time as a student, I felt that I was subjected to harassment, disrespect, and unprofessional treatment. Rather than being encouraged and supported as someone trying to build a better future, I often felt targeted, dismissed, and treated unfairly. I also witnessed behavior that I believed created unnecessary tension and conflict among students instead of promoting a positive learning environment. One of my biggest concerns was the lack of communication and transparency regarding important school matters. I repeatedly asked for information regarding my contract and what was required of me as a student, but I did not feel that my questions were properly answered. I also repeatedly requested my 1098-T tax form and encountered unnecessary difficulty obtaining it, despite having paid $3,780 out of approximately $4,100 in tuition. What made the situation even more upsetting was that only days after graduating from Alternative Beauty Academy, I was diagnosed with cancer and began undergoing chemotherapy. During that difficult time, I informed the school of my serious medical condition and explained the challenges I was facing. I even offered to provide documentation from my doctor. Instead of receiving understanding or compassion, I was told that whatever was going on in my life had nothing to do with the school. As someone dealing with a life-altering diagnosis while trying to handle my educational and financial obligations, I found that response deeply hurtful, insensitive, and unprofessional. Despite the financial hardship that came with my medical treatment, I still made an effort to send payments whenever I could. Whether it was $1.50, $10, $50, or another amount, I tried to stay committed and communicate in good faith. Considering that I paid $3,780 out of approximately $4,100, I believe I made a substantial effort to meet my obligations despite the challenges I was facing. To make matters worse, the issues surrounding my records and tax documentation continued even after I graduated. What should have been a simple process became an unnecessary source of stress and frustration. I should not have had to repeatedly ask for documentation that I was entitled to receive. I also have concerns about the overall educational experience I received. I enrolled to learn, grow, and gain the skills needed to advance my career, but I did not feel that students were consistently receiving the quality instruction, guidance, and support they deserved. Many students attend beauty school to change their lives for the better, and I believe they should be treated with professionalism, respect, and dignity. Due to everything that occurred, including the difficulties surrounding my records, the treatment I experienced as a student, and the emotional distress I endured during one of the most difficult periods of my life, I was advised to explore my legal options and consider pursuing the matter through civil court. At this point, I am strongly considering that route. I did not want things to reach this level. Had the school simply communicated properly, provided the documentation I requested, and treated me with basic respect and compassion, I likely would not be writing this review today. This review reflects my personal experience and opinions. I hope Alternative Beauty Academy takes student concerns more seriously and works toward creating a more supportive, professional, and respectful environment for future students.

Cost is $12 includes tax. Tip is extra. The chefs rotate as the servers. Service is a work in progress so as long as you're prepared for that you will have a great time. The food is soooo delicious. Typically there are two apps, four entrees, two sides, and two desserts. You select one of each. Iced tea or soda also is included. I had the smoked trout spinach salad. The red beets were the best and the vinegarette was tasty. Slightly sweet. The smoked trout was ok, more spices would've been nice. The bean soup looked good and the reviews were positive. The entrees included prosciutto wrapped monkfish, spinach and ricotta ravioli, wiener snitzel, and brat with sauerkraut. I got the brat and it was great with Grilled butter bread. The potato salad was amazing. Included bacon, slightly warm, and sauerkraut flavor. The Brussel sprouts were grilled and maybe the best item in the meal. I wanted more! For dessert I selected the red wine poached pear with marscapone cream. It was good. Slightly sweet. The other option was tiramisu which was served in a wine glass and looked great! They rotate the menu every three weeks. Next is Asian! I think reservations are required and they only serve wed and thur. Note it takes about 1.5 hours to get through lunch.

This quarter's theme is Cajun, so I had shrimp, grits and collard greens with bacon (see pic) & beignets with berry sauce (also see pic). It was DELICIOUS & was cooked super quickly. I would definitely recommend, but since it's a class, make sure to call ahead for hours & days it's open.
