We had to watch from the cafeteria on a blurry projector. Some graduates didn't have families in they to record or take pics of a memorable moment. HORRIBLE!!!! Then halfway through a security guard came saying only 1 parent per family could go. Shepard is sickening for that!!!

The staff…read moreis very disorganized and there's a skinny girl with long brown hair and glasses that is one of the life guard instructors and her attitude is terrible. I paid for 2 sessions out of the three, thinking that my 2 children would have the same instructor for the 4 weeks, well today was the first day of session two and so far my kids have had three different instructors. How do they keep accurate performance of what THE CHILDREN ARE CAPABLE OF DOING WHEN THEY KEEP SWITCHING THEIR INSTRUCTOR? How can one know their progress if it's not a consistent lesson with the same instructor? The the little skinny witch had nerve to get an attitude with me because i complained. I wanted to choke the little witch, if i didn't have kids i would've cleaned the floor with her face. This place is very unorganized, they have no clue what they are doing, and i will be asking for a full refund for the lack of intelligence these instructors have. They need to inform people before they pay for lessons that they will have kids all over the place and not a set structure for how their progression will be throughout the course. You guys really need to improve your communication skills. Shame on this private high school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ps, they deserve no stars but this site is making me rate them...it should be a negative 5 stars

Add that on to substantial financial aid, and MPA really does give a lot of money to students, the vast majority, in fact, that don't go to Morgan Park Academy. I am the recipient of one of the scholarships, and went to public school my entire life previously. I come from a working class home, I have a job. On behalf of all the other parents, my mother apologizes for picking her child up from school. A long standing MPA tradition is called Service Day. The entire upper school picks a project, usually in Beverly, but there have been projects at the various Museums, and public schools a bit further away and spends a day working there. Past trips include Washington and Jane Smith Village, Clissold, local churches, Park Forest, a home for mentally disabled people, and the annual senior trip to clean up the Dan Ryan Woods. Funny, a favorite memory of MPA students and alums is being chased by our groundskeeper, Richie on his snowblower. He can be seen working at six AM the day directly after a snow. Morgan Park Academy is really not the neighborhood monster, in fact I've never heard Anyone speak of it like that, unless you're a senior suffering from acute senioritis that is. =D. Having been around for 125, I don't think it's going anywhere, so why don't you come in for a visit and check it out?

If I can give this school 0 stars I would. Terrible system, poor interest on bettering the school…read more There's apparently no dress code (you'll see some pretty short shorts, cropped tops, pajamas) not to mention the activities offered(very few). As I am currently a student at this school, and I have been going here since the start of 7th…read moregrade, I know quite a lot about what goes on in and out of this location. First off, the school is great. The interior of the school is very clean and simple looking, and it is not overloaded with classroom art, cracks, or a lot of what my last school had (Which was Springfield School, and I will eventually write a review for that.) I am mainly going to be reviewing the Junior High section of the school, as that's really all I ever visited and know my way around completely. I honestly don't find it appropriate to name the teachers I've had problems with, but there is a few teachers who like to draw to assumptions a lot. I've seen several cases where a student got called out for doing something that he/she hasn't even done! I happen to be one of those students. I resist arguing with the teachers about it though, as it just makes the situation worst - it's basically a lose-lose no matter what you do. However, the punishments are severe at all - That's what I like about the school. It's not a harsh punishment nor is it something that wouldn't teach a bad child a lesson. Basically if you do something bad, you simply serve a lunch detention or something like that. Only rarely have I seen people even have to go to the Principle's Office. I think this school does a good job providing education. I am in the 8th grade, and even though I tend to struggle with school - I know a lot. A suggestion I do have to the school is for the teachers to not go so quickly - i don't know if there's a certain criteria the teachers have to follow but the pace most teachers go can confuse some teachers. Lunch: The lunch program is decent It's not terrible but it's not amazing either. I'm that one guy who sometimes makes my own lunch and sometimes takes a school lunch. The way we are set up to eat is very inviting, and allows you to socialize with people younger than you as well, meaning you can make a lot of new friends simply by eating lunch. One teacher I won't name always seems to be so strict at lunch though. If you turn around for like a second just to see where a noise was coming from or something, and she catches you - instant lunch detention. I don't find that very fair. So I would give the school a 4 star rating from my personal experience here. I still have a few months to go until graduation but this school is doing a good job preparing me for high-school .Like nothing, it's not perfect - there's a few flaws with the teachers, and most of them are basically opinion-based but other than that I enjoy it here. I fail to understand why there's been several new students here that transferred about a week after. By the way, I would like to remain anonymous. I am not "Josh" like my yelp says, as I don't want any staff to look at my differently because of my review. I just want to be a reference to parents before they send their children off to this school.
