I bought a 1 year pass after reading about this Y on the St. Cloud marketplace. I showed up ready to redeem my pass only to be told I couldn't because it was Sunday. It was then recommended that I show up during business hours on a weekday. This was incredibly frustrating for me as I'm a working professional and no where on the pass purchase does it say this. So I drove 25 minutes across St. Cloud only to have to go back home and not use the gym. This was a serious waste of my time, gas, and energy. I guess I will update my review once I get a tour and I can actually try using my membership. Or maybe I'll try to sell it to someone else. read more

The YMCA sells itself as a place to build community and that is supportive of mental health, but it removed an autistic young adult for pacing and reprimanded this individual publicly. Then, they continued charging this individual for their membership despite promises to refund the account. read more

Family swim is a great memory for me and my son. Late night hooping is a decent memory as well. The best memory is bringing gloves, mitts, and a large kicking pad to teach my son some moves in the pickleball room. read more

The water spouts should not be in a kids pool if they are not allowed to play with them. THEY ARE KIDS!!! They yelled at my toddler (a 2 year old) for playing with the water spouts on the ground and on the slide. She doesn't know better and last I checked they don't harm anyone. Been going for a very long time and will never go again. New rule requires 8 years or younger to have an adult IN WATER with their child. I understand the parents who are negligent and just leave their children there, but I have a chlorine allergy and I am standing right there and they still would not let my child in the water. what is the reason they have lifeguards at all? I hope it's worth paying the lifeguards whatever you're paying them to lose money on all the people who cannot be in the water with their kids. read more

They went from a diverse front desk staff to a homogeneous staff with sticks up their butts. It's like pulling teeth to communicate with them. They are very surface level. The facility is super nice but if you have crappy workers, it makes for an uncomfortable experience. The price is ok for a family membership. read more

I've used my membership at a ton of YMCA's throughout the United States and not only were they awful to deal with but they actually charged an extra $3.50 per kid per hour. The Y had a college summer deal $90 for 90 days that I was a part of. For me it was a good deal, got the usage out of the pass. The gym is a little small but it has all the machines you need. A good arraignment of cardio machines also. Staff is friendly. Always keeping check on things & sanitizing making it a clean place. Large locker room to put all your items & clean up. read more

New location and building for YMCA in St. Cloud. Very nice and clean. Two pools, one for laps, another heated family pool for general swimming, slide, splash pad, and hot tub. Lots to offer in this new building. Rock climbing wall, group fitness classes, racket ball courts, gyms, weights, walking/running track and machines. When I was in for a tour, I was told there was a deal running. When I went back the next day to sign up with that deal I was told it was not running. Some confusion with training staff maybe? This is not enough to prevent me from signing up, but it would be nice to make sure correct information is communicated all the time. read more

The only good thing about this place was the yoga instructor and Laurie the personal trainer. However the yoga instructor has left and Laurie would be the only reason I would stay but the cost is little steep. Not to mention the following: 1. The changing rooms for the pool stink. 2. I have had nothing but problems trying to check in. 3. Staff is rude. 4. I didn't have to be present to sign up for a membership however I have to come in to sign to close it. Oh and of course they will have to charge me another month because the cut off day was yesterday. The all mighty dollar is more important.Yikes!! what happen to customer service. Had a membership but wasn't using it in months after their transition to the new place, they refused to cancel it over the phone, forced me to drive all the way over there to cancel. When I got there, they were guilt tripping me into keeping my membership even after I told them I hadn't used it and didn't plan to use it. They were not busy at all and I had to sit there and wait and wait...and wait for them to see me, sign the forms then process it. 1 hour of my life wasted while they guilt tripped me and tried to convince me to keep it. If you think door to door salesman were bad, they were much worse. Also, because they setup autopay; if you are thinking of getting a refund for not using the membership- Good luck, I should have just called my credit card company. read more

some Y's are better than others at serving adults and kids. this place should not even pretend it is anything but a play ground for kids. one racquetball court was turned into a kids play jungle, that's cool, but then another is used for kids to ride their scooters around indoors. lap swim hours are ridiculously difficult - when kids camp starts, they arrive at 7 a.m. and "they use the whole building." kids programs go until 8 pm., and that includes the pool. one option for pool swim - three days a week at 5:30 a.m. as the other two are for those who are a member of the masters club the cardio room is still old school with the tv on the wall so if you want to watch tv while working out, you have to do the neck crick routine and are at the mercy of whomever turned the tv on and set it to the cooking channel in the morning. it is great that there is an active place to drop off your kids all day, but if you don't have kids, don't spend your money. place is too small and they charge way too much for an adult ($38 a month) compared to the $55 family fee, only to be a fourth rate member read more

This is a very busy "Y" lots of people there all the time, kids can be a little much at times, especially during the programs, There are also many swim classes going on all the time and they do max out the pools. The Weight Room could use some updating, but what's there gets the job done. The Fitness room has younger (2 years) Precor, ARC Trainers, A Stairmaster Stepmill all in working order. The TV's are wall mounted and at the front of the room, all equipment is forward facing, the channels can be selected by anyone( of course they have to check with other patrons first). With the exception of a few individuals all the equipment is wiped down after use, all weights put away. This YMCA is an older Building 1969 and is showing it's age, but it handles all the Community needs and has many corporate sponsors. The staff works hard to take care of everyone fairly and completely. Let's face it this "Y" does what its supposed to do, it's a one stop shop for EVERYONE. There are other gyms in town for those who do not want to be exposed to Community functions. Am I completely happy everytime I go there? 99% yes but some days the kids can be a little much, the building a little blah, but I am still a fan and I still go to work out. This fall they will be breaking ground on a completely new building across the street, for a 2016 opening. I cant wait to be in there supporting the "Y"! read more

Like to swim? Love water aerobics and fitness classes? This is the best place in the area for water fitness. There are plenty of Olympic length lap lanes and hours to swim, water fitness classes and a warm water therapeutic pool here. There are fitness classes throughout the day and evening if you prefer land workouts. I've used the weight and cardio rooms once, but since I prefer aquatic exercise that is where I spend my time. read more

The YMCA is a community gym, with that in mind lets proceed with this review. I began going to this YMCA a year ago, and the service was far from acceptable. How might you ask? The staff that goes to this facility do not complete their duties, and one of those assigned duties in ensuring the weight room is not completely destroyed. I came in on a daily basis to the weight room having EVERY SINGLE plate weight on the floor, no joke. I thought okay, this can't continue daily right? WRONG! There are several teams that use that tiny weight room to work out, constantly leaving their weights on the floor and really just not caring about anything but themselves. This means when you go here, you will constantly pick up weights that others had left behind. I had addressed the issue on several occasions with the staff and no improvement was seen at all. Essentially asking these 'workers' for a lack of a better term is wasting your breath. Do yourself a favor and avoid them, and this establishment. To add insult to injury, if you go on your own and tell members that they are breaking rules in that weight room, be prepared for a scene. About a month ago I encountered a member slamming 65 lb dumbbells from about waist height onto a concrete floor. I tried to logically explain to this member they are breaking the rules (which are posted in BOLD PRINT ON THE WALL ) and their response was, its no big deal. This member then proceeded to go downstairs and TELL on me for correcting them (enforcing the YMCAs own rules.) I was then told because I am of white origin I can't tell anyone who isn't white they are breaking the rules because its 'racially motivated'...Yes, we live in a world (specifically the YMCA) where whites will be accused of being racist in all situations because race baiting is clearly acceptable. These words were spoken by the last person I expected, the CEO of the YMCA in the area of St Cloud. God forbid if anyone calls anyone out for breaking rules, because you will be accused of being racist....I can't believe that I even have to type these words into this review, its absolutely idiotic that this type of behavior is allowed. I would like to add one other thing to this above situation. Right before I spoke to that member, I had told the staff someone was slamming weights. They laughed and told me to "talk to him? Please do!" right before I went up there to address it. The staff are completely lazy, and their management is run by a CLEARLY intelligent CEO who uses race baiting against its members. I never thought a gym would punish another member for doing the right thing, but then again this is the St Cloud YMCA. One other thing, this gym is a community gym so I didn't have high standards AT ALL, but my god the level of idiocy here is astounding. Go ANYWHERE but this gym, there are much better gyms in St Cloud where you wont have to deal with this bs. read more
