A new principal and several new teachers have joined the school this year. Lots of up campus field trips are planned. An all-school musical/play is done at the end of each school year. Kids can start extra-curricular activities at 4th grade. Piano lessons are offered starting at age 4. Affordable before and after daycare is available before 8am and after 3pm. Both pastors seem courteous and respectful although we don't know them that well. The new school building is truly a warm and wonderful place with top notch classrooms, a beautiful gym and lunch area. A digital white board in the kindergarten room shows a move toward technology-assisted learning. Holy Cross PTO is working provide additional technology in all classrooms for the future. We are happy to be part of this church school this fall. Having worked and been active in a number of churches I can assure all that no church is perfect.

Which is only 2 out of my whole friend group. And in preschool, I thought I was going to go though every grade with my best friends, but now that will never happen. It was just so sad leaving my friends on the last day. Please try your best to avoid this school. I really don't want your kids to go through what I had to go through. And it was absolutely devastating to leave the teachers that I knew and loved since the day I talked to them or someone told me about them. I will never forget everyone that was there for me and everyone who cared about me. And it's the fact that I have to walk into that school seeing none of my friends waiting there to greet me after a long summer. I know I've already said this but it's absolutely devastating. And to think that the people that I've known and cared about for either 1-8 years, will probably never see or remember me, and I probably wont remember them. I just wish he never became the principle. And I absolutely adore the teachers there that taught me through my 2 years of middle school, while they were there, and its been an absolute blast, I'm definitely going to miss them. I came here for a group bonding event involving the high and low ropes course. The scene is very…read moregorgeous, right on the lake and plenty of trees and scenery. The actual ropes course is very fun with plenty of various levels for beginner to advanced involving a climbing wall, zip line, and various heights. We also did more group level challenges with an actual leader from the camp. Our leader John was a very thoughtful friendly man who ensured we were safe while working as a team. The bathrooms onsite are very clean. We had lunch here as well, it was 'Taco Tuesday' on a Monday-- a full taco bar with churros, popsicles, and fruit. The dining area is a very classic bare bones camp environment, but the views from the outside tables are phenomenal on a sunny day. They have a small little beach with a pier for kayaking.

The staff is friendly, the activities were well planned out, the grounds are beautiful, the food is great, the accommodations are clean, comfortable and cozy. My daughter isn't one for overnights so I was shocked when she told me she wanted to go to a week long overnight camp here. This is the ONLY camp she would even look at! They expect all of their students to be religious in the Catholic community and if not they treat them differently. They expect children to be on the academic level of a college student, over loading them with a ridiculous amount of work. When it was my time to graduate I had no idea what my options were and I had no help looking for college. And I was made fun of what I picked by the other students. They try to push religious vocations on you for a career. There is ZERO diversity in the school and no culture is taught. Options for extra curricular is slim to none. No lunchroom, gym, library, music room... they don't even own their own building. Considering how much money it is to send your children to private school I don't know where all this money is going towards. I feel very unfulfilled with my high school experience and I feel like I was set up for failure. I know way too many kids who have graduated with PTSD from going to this school and the amount of Catholic guilt they feel on a daily basis. It's unbelievable how much brainwashing these people are doing to these kids. And they don't even have a student counselor for how much stress they are putting on these students. Everyone I know who graduated from the school needs therapy. If you have a child at St.Ambrose or are considering sending them to this school please give your child an option. I would never send my children to a school like this. Even though Dane county is requiring masks for students during COVID-19 masks are not required at all currently at the school.
